chapter 12
geet smiles after keeping the phone down. she wonders if maan will be able to solve the riddle or nt. she looks across the road towards the radio station. she tells the driver to wait here ad gets down from the car and walks into the radio station. she meets up with the rj and explains her the things necessary and saughts her help. the rj agrees. they both move towards a room and starts waiting for the phonecall. meanwhile in KC, it's been 10mins and nobody has come up with an answer, not even maan. maan is really taking this lightly. he goes thru the riddle once again
main saath suron ka sangam hun,
har aawaaz ki gungunahat hun
aur main har panchi ki baathein hun.
something flashes in his mind.
maan: everyone, lets work together.
everyone agree with him.
adi: sir pehli line, tho suron ke sangam ke baare main hai....
romeo: aur doosra gungunahat pe....
manisha: aur teesra, panchi pe.....
maan: we all know that, dont we??? stop acting silly..... hmmm if we consider even the song then it's " gaatha rahein mera dil"....(maan tune wahi kiya jo staff ne kiya😆)
adi: yes sir
(ladke itne bhulakkad hothe hain 😉 ) everyone think, already 20mins have passed out....and suddenly romeo comes up with something.
romeo: sir, if we relate the song and the riddle together, then u can see that the song is the answer for the riddle.(geet gave the 2 clues b'coz its realted, how can u guys be so dumb😛)
maan looks at him with a confused look, so does everyone else.
maan: romeo, i dint understand.(MEN!!!)
romeo: sir, she has given 2 clues, why not merge them and see???
maan: good idea..
everyone try to figure it out, finally maan comes with part of the answer.
maan: i think it's like this.....(finally!!!!,....dimaag use kiya,😆)
saath suron sangam hotha hai gaana
har aawaaz ki gungunahat hai gaana
har panchi ki baathein hothi hai gaana
aur uss gaane ka pehla shabd hai "gaatha"
so that girl actually gave both the riddle and the answer to us. the thing is to relate this to a name.
evryone were impressed with both maan and romeo......
adi, manisha and others tap romeo's back for breaking the ice. well 30mins are over. they've got only 30 more mins to guess the name.
maan: ok everyone start guessing names related to gaana...
they all try really really hard and they come up with so many stupid, dumb names but finalise only 3 which they felt relevant to the riddle.sargam, sangeetha and taal(they never guesed "geet")only 5mins remaining and maan calls the rj.........
rj: hello?
maan: hello, this is maan...
rj: oh yeah, i was waiting for ur call. did u get the answer???
maan: i think i have.
rj: then plz go ahead.
maan: is it sargam???
rj: sry u r wrong....
maan: how abt taal???( maan is it KBC??? why are u giving options here)
rj: not even close.
maan: oh god....how abt sangeetha???
rj: u r very close MR. Maan but u r not right, she says she needs the exact name.
maan: she's their???
rj: yes, listening to u...
maan: are u joking??? how close am i to the answer??? do i get some more time to solve it??? i think i can if i get a few more mins.
this time geet speaks to him.
geet: maan, aapka waqt khatham ho chuka hai. i hope u realise that???
maan: is that really u???
geet: yes its me....
maan(trying to act smart): i know that my time is up but if i could get few more mins, i could give it another try
geet: sry maan, ur time is up and u failed
maan: u never change ur words, do u?? well i am glad that i got to talk to you.
geet(smiles): i am glad as well but since u failed, u need to hurry to the post office.
maan: i wanted to tell u something...
geet: yes???
maan: i love ur voice, its very sweet.
geet(surprised): thanks a lot maan, ur 3rd letter is waiting for u, bye now.
maan: wait...wait.....
the call goes blank. maan is happy that he got to hear her voice but sad that he couldn't guess her name, he turns towards the staff.
maan: thank u everyone, but we failed. thats ok, u can all leave to ur work now.(how come u r not angry??? geet ki awaaz suna issliye??)
everyone leaves the room. maan sits on the chair thinking "i took this very lightly, her riddle was also out of the ordinary. she had warned that it wont be easy but i thought i could win over her, damn it!!! i failed". he calls adi and tells him that he'll be leaving for the post office. maan enters the post office, meets up with the detective who has been there from the past 3 days.
detective: hello sir....
maan: did u come to know abt her???
d: sry sir but i haven't seen anybody using that PO box from the last 3 days.
maan: what are u saying???
d: yes sir... there has been no one even near that PO box 39.
maan: let me check what's inside, lets go.
they both reach the PO box 39, maan tries out the key but the lock doesnt open.
maan: how is this possible, she had mentioned that its PO box 39 in ur area.....
d: i think she means the post office in the area u live and not work..
now it dawns on maan that what an idiot he was, he never thought of what the detective just said....
