What the thread is, it's a thin cord consisting of either 3 or 5 strands of cotton thread. It's in a circle and worn across the shoulder as a sash. It's not attached to any clothing but lies against the body all the time.

It's a Marking of the coming of age of the men, marks their acceptance of the responsibilities of society.

The thread is changed Once a year.

I dont know if I am explaining this properly, feel free to add on to this.

Don't get me wrong, I like Arjun and John but what i've read so far about Dhruv doesnt suit with these two. I can't picture them as Shiv's friend. It's just my opinion, of course. Also, i'd prefer someone not so familiar to me as Dhruv. So that leaves option 2 & 4 and i didnt like no.2 so i'll go with 4.

Of course, in the end i'll accept whoever Devi choose. She knows the best as she created these charecters and know how they look.
