First things first, so: HAPPY SIDDHIMA FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO ALL OF MY FELLOW SRIANS!!! 🥳
I still can't believe it's been ONE WHOLE YEAR since that happened 😲 😭! SR was one of the things that made 2010 my favorite year 😍☺️. *Sigh*

Chapter 11:
Sue and Shilpa were up to no good. Seriously. Right now, they were hatching the most evil plan to get SR together.
Sue: Mission Riddhant, Plan 29!
Shilpa: Ghalat! Mission Siddhima, you duffer! Wait, hum Plan 29 tak bhi itni jaldi pohnch gaye?
Sue: Yaar, itne ziada plans jo flop ho gaye! Kahin to pohnchna tha!
Sue and Shilpa turned their heads in the same direction and thought of their previous fails.......
--Flashback--
Sue: Plan 6 in action!
The plan had been to spill water on the floor and then watch Riddhima fall into Sid's arms, who was passing right then. Instead, Natasha had slipped, knocking Sid over and cursing whoever had spilled the water, while Riddhima was laughing secretly at Natasha's anger.
(Flashback fast forwards)
Shilpa: Plan 15!
Meaning to get SR together in the kitchen to have some cute conversation while making food, somehow Natasha and Ridzy ended up there and they both had an argument about how much masala to put in the food. in fact the fight had gotten so extreme that masala-throwing had started! And then just as Sid came in and he said, "What the hell is goin-" and he stopped right there because he got a whole dabba of masala on one side, and a fistful on the other side.
Both the girls had gasped in horror, and Sid had given them both a deadly look and both the soul-sisters had looked at each other and run out of the house.
(More fast forward)
Sue: Abhi hai......Plan 19!
Riddhima and Sid had been successfully seated on the same sofa and had started talking. Until however, Natasha had to trip and fall exactly on Sid. Shilpa had gritted her teeth in frustration and Sue had slapped her forehead.
(More fast forward)
Shilpa (on the phone with Sue): On to Plan 23!
Natasha had been 'accidentally' locked in her room, and Sue was 'finding' the key, and Shilpa had 'hurt her leg' in a park a few blocks away, and as she had taken Riddhima's car, Sid offerred to drive a worried Riddhima over to Shilpa.
That is, until they found out that the key had been mysteriously placed in Natasha's room, which was 'locked'. So ultimately, Sue had to 'find' the key, unlock Natasha, and the end result being that Sid went alone to get Shilpa, because Riddhima and Natasha got into an argument, in which the main subject was that Riddhima had been culprit to lock Natasha in.
--Flashback end--
"Arre bhagvan!" said Shilpa in a desperate voice, and shaking her hands. "Suvarna Modi! What if this plan fails too??"
"Don't worry, honey," said Sue lifting her head in triumph. "This time, it's foolproof! Let's go over things again. Superboy?"
Shilpa: Check!
Sue: Ridz Di?
Shilpa: Check!
Sue: Natasha?
Shilpa (peeking out of the door): Check!
SUe: Car?
Shilpa (looking out of the window): Check!
Sue: Car keys?
Shilpa (holding them in her hand): Check!
Sue (in meaningful voice): Other keys?
Shilpa (Holding them in her other hand): Check! (Emphasis on the 'Ch')
Sue: There! What could possibly go wrong now?
Both (grinning at each other and exchanging high-5s): Kuch bhi nahin!
Sue went to the lounge, holding two of her lipsticks. In the lounge, Natasha was saying something to Riddhima in condescending voice (as if she knew and understood way better than Riddhima in almost everything on the surface of the earth), and Riddhima was looking extremely angry, and Sid was playing on his Blackberry. (Men. They're all the same! 😆)
Sue went over to Sid and said, "Superboy! You brought me the wrong shade of lipstick!" Holding up lipstick which looked brand new, and then holding another one which looked a bit old, she said, "Mein ne kaha tha ke iss se ek shad dark lao! And you brought me one shade lighter! I can't wear something this light!!"
Sid looked as if he had no memory of this shopping trip. Which is not surprising since he didn't buy any of those lipsticks at all, since this was all part of the scheme. "Umm, sorry. I guess?"
Looking exasperated with Sid, and she was a pretty good actress, Sue turned to Natasha, her tone sweet and flattering, "Natasha, can you please get me one shade of lipstick darker than this one? You were going to go shopping anyway, so can you please please get this for me as well?"
Natasha looked as if she was about to refuse. But the prospect of shopping with a perfectly good excuse seemed to much to just throw away. Getting up, she said, "I guess I could go, if you wanted me to, Sue. I'll be back in about one hour."

At the moment Shilpa was busy with the lock of one of the bathrooms, turning the key and then adjusting the lock and then turning it again. (There are three bathrooms in total). After she seemed satisfied with her work, she turned off the tap connected to the pipe that led to the sink taps (I hope you get what I mean). "Ab aayega maza," she whispered to herself. She debated whether or not to fix her mobile here (as a camera). But then she decided no to. Because if something DID happen in the bathroom, it would be better if it stayed private......

Natasha went ouside, and Sue went to the kitchen. SR were left alone together after a long time, and they weren't looking at each other. Ever since the whole fainting and crying episode, Riddhima was trying to avoid Sid, and not to be left alone with him. And whenever Sid did try to get alone with her, she would always make some excuse and leave, or someone else would come interrupt. This irritated Sid, and he had become a bit more snappy than usual in the past few days. Probably this attitude of SR had made Sue n Shilps more desperate to unite these two. Too bad it almost always went wrong!
In the kitchen, SUe was carrying out Phase 3 of Mission Siddhima Plan 29 (phase 1 was getting Natasha out, Phase 2 was the whole bathroom thing with Shilpa). In her hand was a glass of juice. You know, tht really dark maroon-ish, sticky kind of juice.
And then she proceeded to walk out of the kitchen to where Sid and Riddhima were seated. She had planned so accurately that she walked right to the centre of their distance, 'tripped' and split juice all over Sid, Riddhima and herself in the process!!!
Sid and Riddhima both had their expressions changed from veiled hostility to shocked anger and surprise! Both of them looked at Sue in such a menacing way together that she promptly said "Sorry,' with this really scared expression and rushed to her bathroom to clean her clothes and escape.
"SUVARNA MODI!" yelled SR together.
"I'M SORRY!!!" shouted Sue from her room (locking the door just in case).

At the same time when this fiasco took place, Natasha was outside, and before getting into the car, checked her hair to see if it was alright. Of course, it was sticking up from the sides, so she decided to just pop into her bathroom for a moment and fix her oh-so-sleek-and-shiny hair.

Sid and Riddhima had both angrily stomped to the nearest bathroom (the one where Shilpa had been a few minuted earlier).
Riddhima (in irritated voice): Oh God, main ne abhi abhi apne baal wash kiye the! Now it's all sticky again!
Sid: Tumhe apni baalon ki fikr hai? Tum ladkiypon ko kabhi kisi aur cheez ka khyal hota hai?
Riddhima: Well Mr. I'm so smooth, kabhi kabhi apni appearance ko attention dena koi buri baat nahi hai!
Sid: Alright alright! I know from experience with Sue that it's impossible to win an argument with girls when it comes to baal and kapde and joote!
Despite her anger, Riddhima gave a reluctant grin at Sid's defeat. Sid saw the smile and kinda felt happy. Then aware of juice dripping from her hair to her face, Riddhima started opening the taps. BUT NO WATER CAME OUT!
"SID!" she yelled.
"Now what?" said Sid.
"Pani nahi hai!!!"
Now Sid started turning the taps with a panicked expression. Both of them were so caught up in the state of themselves that they forgot their avoiding and hostility and whatever and looked at each other at the same time and said, "Try the shower!"
One thing: the shower was that frosted-glass-enclosed compartment thingy and it was placed in such a place that when the door opened it would be at the other side of the door, and so couldn't be seen when the door was open.
So what happened was that both of them rushed towards the shower (the door was half-closed) and Sid got in first, took of his sweater (not his shirt 😛) and opened the shower (with his clothes and everything still on, mind) and started rinsing his head.
Then the door flung open with force so that Riddhima was pushed into the shower compartment right over a now-wet Sid, and then the door was slammed shut by none other than Natasha, who was now heading towards the mirror.
Irritated and a bit hurt from the door, Riddhima didn't immediately realize where she was. That is, enclosed completely in Sid's arms, who was gazing at her while she too was getting soaked by the slightly warm water from the shower, sweater and all!
And then she looked up. Only when she was gazing into those warm brown eyes in front of her did she realize how stupid she was to be avoiding him. She didn't want to avoid him! In fact she was perfectly comfortable right where she was.......
And Sid was again feeling that irresistible pull towards her. He pulled Riddhima closer towards himself. He lifted one hand and replaced a wet lock of hair behind her ear and then slowly, deliberately, lifted her chin so that there was barely any space between them.........
A click-click sound pulled him out of his reverie. He shook his head once and realised that he had imagined the previous paragraph! (Darn!) And as he really lifted his hand to move her lock of hair, he saw that the click-click sound was of Natasha's heels and she was turning the handle of the bathroom door. Both Sid and Riddhima turned their heads towards the door now (still in the same position, lol) and saw that Natasha wasn't succeeding in opening the door. Irritated, she pulled harder and harder until Sid stepped out of the shower, letting go of Riddhima rather reluctantly, and said, "Let me do it."
Natasha screamed with fright. Two rooms away, Sue and Shilpa heard the scream and fell out of the bed on which they were sitting. "Was that Natasha?!?" both exclaimed in horror. They hurried to the room where the bathroom was located.
Exasperated, Sid said, "For God's sake Natasha, kya tum mujh se bhi darti ho?" He took hold of the handle and started turning it.
Natasha, embarassed, said, "Oh so sorry! I was just a bit surprised and scared, you know. People don't just randomly come out of the shower with the door opened and clothes on an everything!" Natasha saw this as an excellent opportunity to get some time alone with Sid, because she had sensed that there was something wrong going on between SR.
Now Sid too had realised that the bathroom's lock was stuck or something. He pulled harder but nothing happened. That's when Riddhima came out of the shower and Natasha screamed again.
"Definitely Natasha!" said Sue and Shilpa outside, and looked crestfallen. Ab yeh bhala kaise ho gaya?" asked Shilpa. "I thought this plan was foolproof!!!"
Sue said in anger, "Woh Natasha ki bachi ko pata nahi kya problem hai! I swear one day that girl is gonna get it from me so hard..."
"Ssshhhh!" said Shilpa pointing towards the bathroom.
"Tum yahan?" shouted Natasha, putting her hand on her heart, as if scared to death or something.
"Haan," said Riddhima innocently. "Mein yahan. Koi problem?"
"Haan! Matlab no. I mean, what were you doing in there?" said Natasha. Then a flicker of understanding passed across her face. "Oh. Rrrright. Nevermind. No need to answer. I did think it was a bit weird that you guys havnt kissed the whole time since I've been he-"
"WHAT????" asked Riddhima and Sid together, Riddhima going redder than a berry
Looking a bit surprised, and who can blame her, Natasha said, "Ummm, what do you mean? Oh right. You're just mad Iinterrupted you, right? Well I'm extremely sorry! You two can carry on whatever you were doing in there. I'll just.... errrr..... close my eyes." And she sat on the commode with its lid down and put her hands over her eyes.
Riddhima looked at Sid helplessly, as well as making a I-hate-you-so-darn-much-for-getting-me-into-this-idiotic-situation. It was obvious that Natasha was peeking just to see if they were actually gonna kiss. And she would so totally figure out that everything was fake.
Sid made a I'll-take-care-of-this-expression back to Ridzy. He stood in such a way that Natasha could see his back and just a bit of Ridzy. Then he made a -come-closer-quick!- expression. Ridzy obeyed (God, I love this silent communication 😆). Sid took her face in his hands. Ridzy looked alarmed and made a what-the-hell-do-you-think-you're-doing face. Sid just grinned slightly and pulled her face closer. Riddhima's heart rate increased and tried to remove his hands in protest but Sid whispered, almost inaudibly, "Just close your eyes!"
"No!" was the stubborn reply.
"Please Riddhima," whispered Sid in an exasperated voice. "Do you really think I would do anything without your permission?"
Riddhima looked at him. Of course he wouldn't. And, getting the gist of his plan, she moved her face slowly closer to his, almost making their noses touch, her heartbeat close to thundering, and closing her eyes slowly, as if actually aniticipating a kiss.
Sid smiled at Riddhima's closed eyes and her accelarated heartbeat. So idiotic that she thought he would actually kiss her! As if! But...... what had that been? The thought (DS) he had had inside the shower? Where had that come from? Maybe, said a tiny voice in his head, you actually do want to k--
Natasha interrupted his thoughts, "Aren't you two done yet? I'm kinda getting tired here!"
"Shut up Natasha," said Sid. Riddhima suddenly opened her eyes and moved backwards, going deep red again, and her heart threatening to jump out of her chest.
Natasha removed her hands from her eyes, looking as if something had clicked in her mind. "Good God, what took you so long? You must be -"
"SUPERBOY!!! RIDZ DI!"
"DI!!! SID BHAIYYA! KYA HUM SUNAI DE RAHE HAIN???"
"What what, what is it?" asked Sid in a loud voice.
"CAN YOU HEAR US??"
"YES, I'M NOT DEAF! AHISTA BOLO!"
"Oops, sorry!" came Sue's voice. "We just wanted to ask if you knew where the spare keys are? I think something's gone wrong with the lock but maybe we can open it with a chabi...."
"Sue, the last time I saw the spare keys they were in -"
"MY JACKET! GOT IT! THANKS SUPERBOY!" Sue sped off to get the keys which she had suddenly remembered were in her old jacket.
"What?" asked Sid.
Shilpa answered, "Oh nothing Sid bhai, she just remembered where the keys are. Are you all alright? Di are you there? Is Natasha here too?"
"Yeah, I'm with these two lovebirds," came Natasha's voice, somewhat amused.
"Oh............right," said Shilpa, a bit confused. Sue came back and turned the keys in the lock. It opened! Natasha ws the first to come out, whizzing past them (she didn't want to miss her shopping trip). Then Riddhima came out, asking SUe if she had some clothes that she could wear.
"Oh God, tum dono kya pani mein gire or something?" asked Sue looking from Riddhima to Sid, both of whom were still dripping.
"Errr, nahi........" said Riddhima, blushing as she recalled the past events wondering how she could have let all of that happen....... first the shower then Natasha.
"O.........K," said Sue, glancing at Shilpa. "C'mon, we'll get Ridz Di some clothes." And both the fasad ki jadein sped out to discuss this new development.
As both Sid and Riddhima made their way to Sue's room, all hostility gone, Sid wanted to tease Riddhima and said, "Wow Riddhima, for a moment there you looked as if you actually wanted to kiss me!"
Blushing slightly, Riddhima punched him on the arm and said, "Keep dreaming, Romeo. It's called acting." Though deep inside, Riddhima was thinking, "but was it really?"
And Sid too was feeling just as confused as Riddhima. They were just friends, nothing else. Then why did he feel this irrepressible urge to always be close to her? It couldn't be lo-
"Here you go Ridz Di," said Sue coming out of her room and giving Riddhima some clothes. "Once again, so sorry about the juice!"
