Chapter 2

As soon as the bell rang, everyone rushed out of the room. Avantika told Ashlesha and Preeti to hurry up since she knew Armaan would surely try to talk to her. Ash and Preeti were digging in their book bag and said: "Yah. You go."

Avantika rushed to the door so she could get out before Armaan reached her. But Armaan was too fast and he came in front of Avantika and blocked her way. She moved to her right. Armaan moved the same way and stopped her from going out. She then moved to her left. Same thing happened on this side too.

Avantika stops trying to get out and looks up to him as if to say 'What?'

Armaan:"Problem kya hai? Tum mujhse baat kyoun nahi kar rahi ho? Maine kiya kya hai?"

Just than Ashlesha and Preeti came up behind Avantika and stood on either sides of Avantika. Ash replied for Avantika knowing what she would have said, "Problem kya hai? Yeh tum puch rahe ho? Hum bhi tum se yahi question puch sakte hai!"

Armaan: "Kya matlab?"

Preeti: "Matlab ki tum kuch bohut important bhul rahe ho. Aur shaam tak yaad karle na. Varna......"

Ashlesha: "Good luck!" and gives him the thumbs up sign. "You'll need it."

Avantika does not say a single word to him and all three of them walks around him and make their way outside. Armaan is just standing there still thinking as to what he had done wrong. All he knew was that Avantika was not talking to him and reason is something very important. And he had to find out what.

Preeti, Ashlesha, and Avantika are now walking down the corridor making their way around the crowd. Ashlesha says, "Avi. Tum jao. Hum abhi aate hai. Mujhe Dia [Their class-mate] ko uski book vapas karni thi. Preeti, mere saath chalo gi? Please?"

Preeti: "Sure. Avi, Tum canteen jao. Hum abhi aate hai."

Avantika nods and says, "Hurry up." Ash and Preeti nods and turns back to go to the classroom. Avantika goes the other way.

Preeti stops when she sees Dia and says to Ash, "Ash, Dia toh yaha hai. Phir hum class-room ke ander kyoun jaa rahe hai?"

Ashlesha puts her hand around Preeti's shoulder and says, "Kyoun ki hume Neev ko dhund naa hai."

Preeti is confused and asks, "Par hum Neev ko kyoun dhund rahe hai? Tumne toh Avi se kaha tha ki tumhe Dia ko book deni hai."

Ashlesha slams her hand thinking 'Aab iss ladki ko kaise samjhaau" and says, "Haa. Maine kaha tha. Kyoun ki mujhe excuse dhund na tha. Taaki main joh karne jaa rahi hun, voh Avi ko pata naa chale!"

The way Ashlesha said that, it scared Preeti a little. Because whenever Ash starts talking like that, it meant that a big trouble was heading at someone's way. Preeti stops Ash by holding her by her wrist and asks, "Hum kaha jaa rahe hain? Aur tum kya soch rahi ho?"

Ashlesha senses Preeti's fear and says, "Don't worry. Main aisa kuch bhi nahi karungi jiss se koi bhi hurt ho. Main sirf Neev ko yeh keh ne vaali hun ki voh kisi bhi tarah Armaan ko bata de ki voh Avantika kaa birthday bhul gaya hai."

Preeti: "Par humne Avantika se promise kiya tha ki hum use nahi bataenge."

Ashlesha: "Hum use kaha bataa rahe hain? Hum Neev ko keh rahe hai ki voh Armaan ko bataa de. Aur vaise bhi, kya tum chahti ho ki Armaan aur Avi kabhi ek dusre se baat na kare? Tumhe yaad hain na ki Avi ne kya decide kiya tha? Don't you?"

Preeti thinks hard and after few seconds says, "Baat toh thik hai. Chalo. Neev se baat karke dekhte hai."

Ash gives Preeti a one side hug and say smiling, "That's my girl! Chalo!"

In the canteen Avantika is impatiently waiting for Ashlesha and Preeti and she kept looking at the watch every now and then. the waiter kept on glancing at her every few seconds coz avantika always motioned to him to bring her special whenever she comes to canteen. but today, she hadn't motioned to him and he was getting impatient. he finally decided to go over to her and ask for himself.

Chiku: "Didi, sab thik toh hai na?" He was just 14 years old and he had to work and quit his studies. Avantika had helped him out by giving him book and forcing him to study and get education.

Avantika glanced up when he heard him and shook her head. "Ha. Bas Ashlesha aur Preeti ka wait kar rahi hu. Kyu?"

Chiku: "Apne abhi tak lunch order nahi liya tha iss liye puch liya. acha, aap wait kijiye, mujhe jaana hago," glancing back at the line forming near the counter.

Both bid good bye to each other...

Preeti and Ash go inside the classroom and look for Neev. They find him at the very end of the room playing with some other guys. They walk over where he was and Ashlesha says, "Neev. Hume tumse baat karni hai."

Neev: "Bolo."

Ash: "Yaha nahi. Aage chalo."

Neev: "Kya hain na. bolo na. dikh nahi raha. Mein ek bohot important game khel rahe hai. Aur mein win bhi ho raha hun. I don't want too loose."

Ashlesha gets mad and says, "Bohut important game. Oh! Toh main abhi tumhe dikha ti hun ki kaise jeeta jaata hain," and picks him a little above from ground by his collar.

Neev: "Okay okay okay. Leave me."

Preeti: "Ash. Chodo use."

Ash: "Okay." She leaves him and almost falls to the ground. He straightens himself out and says: "Okay. Kya hai?"

Preeti: "Well...tum jaante ho ki Armaan Avi ka birthday bhul gayaa hain." Mutters the next part to herself, "As always."

Neev: "I know. Aur iss me main kya kar sakta hu?"

Ash: "Are you gonna shut up and listen or..." Understanding what Ash meant by that...

Neev: "No no no. Mein sunn raha hun. You keep going."

Preeti: "As I was saying, agar Armaan ko iss bar yaad nahi aaya toh phir Avantika ne decide kiya hain ki voh Armaan se kabhi baat nahi karegi."

Neev: "What? That can't happen!!!"

Ash: "We now that idiot. That's why we need your help. Tum Armaan ko bataa do kyoun ki hum nahi bataa sakte. Humne Avi ko promise kiya tha ki hum use nahi batyenge."

Neev: "But, I also told her I won't tell Armaan anything."

Ash: "Yes. Kaha tha. But she didn't make you promise. And if you don't want to tell him, than just write a note to him. But do something."

Preeti: "Yah. Just tell it to him in some way. We'll keep Avi busy till then. Okay?"

Neev: "Okay. I'll think of something. Don't worry." Ash and Pri got their lunch and went to keep Avi busy.
