Hai Everyone, sorry for the delay....but it was really great to know that some of u really like what i have written, so here goes....................................

PART-9(LOVE)

Maan turned his back to the restaurant and stood for sometime,

"What are u doing Maan? What has come over u? You are here for ur business party, go inside the banquet hall and don't look back, what Geet does in her own time is her personal life." Maan squared his shoulders and went back inside the hall.

Geet was forced to sit beside the man that her aunty had earlier introduced her to as "Raunak". She fully understood what they were trying to do and felt very uncomfortable and the guy was also giving her strange looks. She knew that her office party was also being held in the banquet hall of this hotel and that's the reason that she had wanted this family get together to be held here in this hotel. Earlier she had planned to slip away from her family's get together and go and attend her office party, the only thing was she didn't know where the banquet hall was situated. But try as she might none of her excuses were entertained by her Chachu who insisted that she remain here in the restaurant with them. Then Raunak asked her aunty if he could take Geet along with him to a friend's party here in the same hotel and they readily agreed. Geet very reluctantly went with him but as soon as she entered the hall her spirits lifted when she noticed Pinky on the dance floor with some other office members. She searched all around for MSk, but she couldn't find him. Adi, Pinky and all her other friends from the office were very surprised to see Geet and that too in a sari and Raunak too was very surprised to find out that Geet worked in KC and this was actually her office's party. But nobody seemed to know where MSK was. Adi tried dialing on his cell and when that came to be engaged then they assumed that he must have gone out to attend a phone call becoz of the loud music inside the hall.

Raunak asked Geet to dance with him, but she declined, he still persisted and ultimately to shut him up she agreed.

"Why do I get the feeling that u don't like me?"

"No, there is nothing like that."

"So, why are u treating me like a rabid animal? Trust me I don't bite, I am infact quite harmless."

Hearing this inspite of herself Geet started to laugh and that was how Maan saw them'''''. Dancing, Raunak looking down at Geet's face and Geet laughing up at him. He unconsciously clenched his fists. They were dancing less and talking more and it became intolerable for Maan to see them like this. He turned towards the bar and sat there nursing a drink in his hands, but still he couldn't stop himself from glancing again and again towards the pair. When the music stopped, Geet went off to talk to Pinky and Adi and Raunak came to the bar for a drink.

"Hey MK, I took up ur invitation, I looked for u man when I came in but u weren't there." Maan just nodded, at that moment Raunak was grating on his nerves.

"You know MK, I was right, my family did bring me here to meet with a girl and see the coincidence she works in your office, u know Geet right? Geet Handa?"

"Yes, I know her." Just then Geet walked up to Maan,

"Good evening Maan Sir."

"Good Evening." Maan looked at her and took in a sharp breadth, she looked even more beautiful up close than from a distance, he shifted so that he could watch the couples dancing on the dance floor so that he didn't have to look at her.

"See now Geet, I have friends to vouch for me and so you know I was telling the truth, I am a good man." Raunak laughed and said.

Geet also laughed, I believe u."

The next song started and a client came up to Geet and asked her to dance with him, she didn't know how to say no, so she agreed and went off to the dance floor. Raunak slided next to MSK,

"She sure is beautiful isn't she? For the first time marriage doesn't seem such a frightening concept." As the song ended and Geet walked off the dance floor''''''. Maan got up, walked to her and wordlessly held out his hand towards her. Geet looked up at his face and placed her hand in his and they went to the dance floor. Adi nudged Pinky from where they were standing.

"Did u get my note sir?" Geet asked as soon as they started to dance. The song was a common, peppy one. Maan nodded and kept quiet.

"Did u get all the files which I had kept in order so that u can show them to the clients sir? They were on ur desk."

"Huh."

Geet started muttering to herself. Maan frowned, "What are u saying under ur breadth?"

"Nothing."

"No, u were saying something."

"No, I was thinking aloud that u r nothing like AB, he was known to be such a good conversationalist, who won arguments and enemies on the power of his words, history is a proof of that."

"AB? The Bachhans?" Maan gave a very confused shake of his head'.. "why are u comparing me to them''''' And when have they ever been in history?"

"No..no'nono'not the Bachhans, actually Akbar Badshah, becoz you''''''.." and she trailed off as all of a sudden she realized what she was about to say.

Maan chocked his head to one side and raised a brow'''''''.. "becoz i'''''.?"

But Geet refused to look at him, she was staring at his chest level and shook her head.

"Come on tell me."

"No, sir, u will get angry again."

"Ok I won't get angry, tell me."

"Promise?" Geet asked, raising her head and looking at him directly in his eyes and Maan felt himself unable to say anything, he felt his breadth hitch up and he just nodded.

"Well you do order about all ur staff and walk with ur head high with ur nose in the air and on that day when we had an argument in the cafeteria, u had asked me whether u will have to announce your arrival wherever u go''''''''' so I imagined u as AB''''..and sometimes I refer to u as''''.."

Maan couldn't believe what he was hearing, no one has ever had the audacity to say any such thing to him ever and here Geet was treating it as if it was a grand joke and unconsciously he frowned as was his nature. Geet on looking at his expression made to stop and remove her hand from where he had held it, but Maan tightened his hold. The music stopped then and Maan saw out of the corner of his eyes that Raunak was slowly walking towards them and reacting almost instinctively Maan whirled Geet deeper into the dance floor.

Uptill that point they had not been dancing that earnestly and were talking more, but as the floor got crowded, the lights dimmed and a slow seductive song started to play, Maan and Geet were both reminded about their first dance together and this time Maan pulled her slowly towards him as if with every inch he was giving her the option of backing out and just as before Geet found herself mesmerized, unable to stop herself from going into his arms.

They swayed, twirled, dipped and swiped and just as before they couldn't take their eyes off from each other and were totally oblivious to the rest of the people around them. Geet felt her heart thud so loudly that she was sure Maan could hear it banging around in its place. Maan wanted to hold her to his chest, never to let her out of his arms. He felt so very different, he didn't want the dance to come to an end and just as he thought that, Geet raised her right hand, in a very innocent gesture and kept it on his left cheek. She didn't know why she did so, but all she knew was that there was a look in Maan's eyes which seemed to be calling out to her and she had wanted to touch his face and even before the thought had fully formed in her mind, she had already placed her hand on his cheek.

Maan stilled, the force of desire that slammed in him with just that one, innocent touch of Geet's hand, took him by surprise and for a second he gripped her hard. Simultaneously two things happened at the same time, the song came to an end and the lights came on. Maan looked around and seemed to come to his senses and he released Geet and took two steps back from her, and wordlessly he walked off the dance floor leaving her standing there. Geet couldn't comprehend what had just happened. One moment she had been floating and then abruptly she came back bang to the earth. She too left the dance floor and went back to the restaurant avoiding Raunak. There she pleaded a headache and her Chachu and aunty sent her off with a driver to their home.

The next morning when Geet came in she saw that Maan wasn't in his office. She had thought all night, thinking back from the time when she had first joined KC and to the moment when he had gripped her so hard the night before. She remembered the day when they had worked late and for a moment she had felt as if Maan would have come towards her when he had checked himself and drawn back'.the day before they had danced. She was sure she wasn't mistaken that yesterday night it had felt as if he was going to crush her to him''. She had a plan and she was determined to start implementing it. Geet knew now for sure that she loved Maan and she wasn't going to rest till she found out whether he took felt the same way towards her or not. Becoz of the age old instinct that women are born with, she understood that he did notice her, but what he really felt was a whole together different story.

She waited all morning but Maan didn't show up in the office the whole morning and no one knew where he was, actually everyone came up to her to ask abt his whereabouts.

It was around1.30pm in the afternoon when Pinky transferred MSk's call to Geet's cabin.

"Helloo?"

"Helloo Geet? This is Maan here."

"Maan sir? Where are u?"

"Geet, I have come to the site of our Noida construction, so I won't be coming in the office today but I need some of the details regarding this project. Check out your mail, I have left instructions for u and Adi, both of u mail me back the things that I need ASAP."

"OK, but sir'.."

But by that time Maan had already disconnected and Geet was left holding the phone with just the dial-tone in her ear.

"Huh?" she banged down the phone.

"Maan sir, I never knew u were such a coward''''.last two times also u choose to ignore'.. but not this time''''..i will not let u'''..this is abt me too."

"You might make all the excuses u like but if I am not wrong u didn't want to face me today''.there was no site appointments scheduled for today'.OOOHHHHHHHHHH"

She stomped and huffed and slammed both her hands on the table.

Maan disconnected and stood holding his cell phone. The very sound of Geet's voice seemed to be calling out to him, she had such a musical ring to it and he wanted to see her right now''''. What was happening..

"Maan she is just a kid''''''',eight years younger to me''''.. I cannot feel such things for her, all I need is to distance myself from her''''and ''.. it will all go away, this feeling, this attraction''.it was all due to the atmosphere that's all. Yes, I am right, by tomorrow everything will be back to its earlier pattern."

When the day ended Geet went to Maan's cabin on her way out and stood looking at his chair. Standing there she felt his essence, his very presence and she hugged her hands around herself. She needed to rethink what she had to do. At first she had thought she would confront him directly but now she knew he would never entertain such a question. He was a very private person. She needed to rethink everything. Everyone in the office said that she could anticipate MSK's needs regarding his office works even before he asked for something, she had never paid any attention to such comments but now she thought, " if really I can do so''if really they are correct in what they say, I have never thought abt anything like that in those terms, I just did what came naturally to my mind, but what if they are correct'.?"

"I'll become indispensable to him''''.so much that he won't be able to think of anything without me''''..everything will remind him of me'''''..can I do so?"

"But what if I am wrong and he doesn't feel anything for me''''.", she squared her shoulders, "if he doesn't feel anything for me then I 'll leave him alone'''''..but if I am correct and he does'''''".

so finally maan is geting J so let see how the story goes but at the same time feeling sorry for MSK.
