-You can count on me for this one, when you are 'married' nothing CAN go right! Absolutely nothing. I'm sitting in a churidaar here. You've got to be kidding me! (Hope no ones watching me doing all the regularly 'bride' jobs.-
If you don't know what I mean by 'The Newly wed girls' job, Let me explain.
1. Blush around 'him' as if you life depends on it. (Kill me lord!)
2. Smile after every 0.5 seconds, to make 'him' feel good.
3. Just dab the entire cities makeup, on your face and hear people compliment it. (Rolls eyes.)
4. Watch people give you honeymoon tips and do nothing about it.
5. Finally you get to here the classic married material dialog, "Kinni soni jodi hai."
6. Live up to your husbands, in-laws expectations-killing all your dreams and expectations in life! :)
Basically, kill your brain neurons, kill your heart and proceed 'happily' with the flow-so darn cute, isn't it !? You must be thinking that I'm not prepared about it.
Who are you kidding!? I've been getting a 'perfect bride' training since a month. Yes, you are right-An entire freaking month. And why did I do it?
Because, I love my papa hell lot. This is what he had been dreaming about since I was born. This is what ultimately pleases him. I knew I had to do this, when I saw a deep glow on my papa's face. Who cares anyways? How bad can this ultimately get? (I can seriously jump off a cliff, I'm warning you beforehand.)
____________
She looked like a doll, sitting quietly in the airport. The volcano erupting inside her was invisible.
The pink churidaar seemed a perfect selection for her. Her eyes looked nowhere but were busy counting the tiles of the airport floor. She had no courage to look at him, especially after all the awkward honeymoon talks outside!
"This marriage has definitely redefined 'insanity' itself !" She sighed, thinking about the entire 'perfect' marriage idea. She dint know him, neither did he know her. Riddhima ran in the opposite direction of perfection, and she loved that. What will Armaan do, when he knows about it?
Any husband would have a bucket full of expectations from his wife. What if Riddhima couldn't fulfill any of it? How would he react?
Immediately, her concentration shifted to Armaan, who was sitting right near her. What if he had heard her last comment? She'd be graciously cut into tiny pieces.
Any husband would surely expect a 'Suniye jee' as the first words from his wife, and not what Riddhima had just said. (Source of knowledge-One month training!!!)
In short, she'd be dead if the vibrations have hit his ear drums.
"I know."
Riddhima widened her hopeless eyes and stared at Armaan in shock. Had she heard it correct? He had agreed to her point? Okay, indigestible!
"I completely understand what you must be going through." Armaan finally looked at her, sipping his coffee and smiled.
"The point of this marriage and relatives and being Mrs. Malik and leaving your dad. It just seems totally crazy!" He nodded in agreement. Riddhima's shock Richter increased.
"I know you din't want to leave your dad." Armaan had clearly read her thoughts and was answering him.
"How did you know that?" She asked him, gulping in amazement.
"I had seen you weeping when your dad had called, saying that he won't be coming." He smiled. Riddhima dropped her gaze, embarrassed. A girls heart is a book of secrets. And you are not supposed to read a girls diary and her deep secrets! Effin hell!!
"Oh." She replied awkwardly.
"Okay so can you do me a favor?" Armaan suddenly asked her, in the deepest of tone he could.
Riddhima looked up at him. His blue crystal eyes seemed loads of concern in them. Was he serious?
"About what?" Riddhima nervously asked him.
[No 'honeymoon' favors please please please!!]
"Lets make it a friends hangover instead of honeymoon. Honeymoon sounds creepy!" He smiled.
Riddhima's worries vanished. What had just happened? Did he just speak her heart, again?
The next thing Riddhima saw was Armaan's hands, waiting for the friendship shake.
"Done!" She instantly shook hands with him.
"Thats the spirit, my lady." They hi-fived each other, like best of buddies. On lookers were shocked.
A cute bride like girl was hi-5'in her husband and shaking hands with him ?! Lord save them.
"Wanna grab a brunch?" Armaan asked her like a casual buddy.
"Always!" Riddhima instantly agreed.
"Yes, I can hear your stomach growling." Armaan leaned on hear and whispered. Riddhima laughed, holding her growling tummy.
"I want a chicken sandwich." She nodded in agreement.
"Oh yea, lets go!" Armaan held Riddhima's hand and pulled her to the nearby Cafe Coffee Day shop.
A shy, trying to blush bride that she was just 10 minutes ago. Now she was herself again! She no more had to pretend to be gracious, and perfect. Armaan seemed to be so casual, unlike the other guys.
This is definitely nothing like a marriage, but it was the base of a love-story. :)
Yes, Riddhima hadn't seen the roller coaster ride..Neither had she expected the surprise. She doesn't foresee the future anymore-But Armaan had definitely made it easier, smoother for her. She could now follow it being 'herself'.:)
