Geet fumed as she walked out of Maan cabin.
"3 night shifts 3 what does he think of himself. Babaji what are you doing with my life?"
It was nearly 6pm. Geet shift ends at 6 and her night shif begins at 10. She calculated if she got home by 6:30 and then she can get 3 hours sleep. Geet went home and tried to sleep but sleep was far away because it was too early.
'GADHA KAMINA SALA KUTTA How the hell am i meant to cope like this?' Geet shouted. Nazia came running in
'Didi what happened why are you shouting and who are you swearing at?'
'My new boss Maan Singh Khurana. He has given my 3 night shifts. I love my sleep at night and i can't leave you alone here at night Nazi. Even Masi is no longer with us' Geet said remembering how her masi died from a sudden heart attack last year.
'Didi I'm not a kid anymore i am 17 you know' Nazi smiled.
Geet smiled back. She had become a mother figure to Nazi ever since masi passed away. They moved home to a better flat as Geet could now use the trust money in her and Nazi name.
'Tik hai but don't forget to lock the doors and windows and put the alarm on. And one more thing i will ring you at intervals and if you don't pick up the phone then i will come running' Geet said holding Nazi face.
'So basically because u cant sleep ur gunna ruin my sleep' Nazi said
Both sisters started laughing
. Geet had her dinner and went to the hospital. She first went to Maan's office to see if he was there. Geet had a feeling he might not be there so she may be able to run off and have a little nap later on if she does get tired.
'Good that gadha is not here yet' Geet said smiling. She walked backwards towards the door to bang into hard chest. She turned around and was shocked to see Maan standing there behind her.
'Miss Handa i see your right on time for your night duty' Geet smiled fakely
'off course Sir, why wouldnt i be' Maan smiled back.
'So i guess you should resume your duty love and don't forget i will be watching you'
'LOVE' Geet thought she felt like killing him right there and then.
1 hour later Geet went to give an injection to one of her patients. The patient was fussing about the injection. Geet was trying to console him.
'Look now if you don't let me put the injection in you nicely then i'm going to stab you with it' Geet said in an angry irratated voice. At that moment Maan came in.
'Dr Geet what are you doing?' Maan said. Geet didnt look who was asking
'Are you bloody blind i'm trying to put an injection in this patient who isnt listening'
'So why don't you talk to him nicely and be nice'
'Oi who are you to give me advice' Geet said irratated from both ends.
'Your boss' Geet looked up and saw Maan.
'Hi Mr Khanna right. Sir please let the lovely lady give you the injection. I promise if anything wrong happens I will personally deal with her and the matter. I am the boss of this hospital'
'okay then Sir' said the patient. Geet looked at Maan and mumbled
'I wish i could stab this akru with this injection' Maan heard her and smirked. The patient heard and smiled and tried hard not to giggle. It was obvious to him that there was a history between these two. Geet gave the injection to him and left.
Maan followed Geet and watched her deal with other patient when someone tugged his trousers. He turned to see a young girl around 7 or 8 smiling at him.
'Hi' She said smiling 'I'm Sneha' Maan smiled back and went back to staring at Geet.
'Don't you have a name' She asked.
'Maan Singh Khurana' He stated whlist staring at Geet.
'goorne se Ladki nahi patne wali' Maan eyes widened and turned to look at the girl.
'What and shouldnt you be in bed'
' forget that and Don't look at me like that. I may look like a little girl to you but my brain is very fast. Now tell me, you love that girl right' Sneha said sitting down on the bench gesturing Maan to come and sit with her.
'Yes I've loved her for the past 2 years but' Maan said regret fully
'But what,'
'I broke her heart. She used to love me when i didnt now i love her. I think she still loves me too' Maan said
'Boyfriend should i tell you something' Snaha said smiling
'Boyfriend?' Maan asked confused
'Ha now your my friend so i'm your girlfriend and your my boyfriend'
'okay Girlfriend lets shake on it' Both of them shaked hands.
'Boyfriend she does love you. You were the one isnt it a week ago who had an accident. Geet Didi was crying and shocked. She prayed for you a lot. and look now she is staring at you'
Maan turned to look and saw Geet staring at him and smiling. Geet quickly turned around when she saw Maan look at her.
'So what do i do now?' Maan asked.
'Promise me first if i help you, you will never break didi heart'
'Promise'
'the first step is always jealousy. Trust me boyfriend it works'
Sneha and Maan smiled.
Finally it was 5am and Geet could finally go home. She went home and slumped on the sofa tired. Maan went home to after watching Geet get home. His one to one conversation with Sneha made him happy and gave him hope. He was now definate that Geet loved him.
Later at 11am Geet woke up. She was still tired but had to start work at 2pm. Meaning she will finish at 9 giving her one hour break between her day shift and her night shift. She cursed Maan again.
It was 6pm and Geet was having her coffee break. Her friends who worked with her had an early shift today and her other friend Arohi and Arjun who were a married couple were in surgery. Rahul came down to see her.
'Hi Geet'
'Hey Rahul'
'Geet we were meant to go out for dinner yesterday what happened? you cancelled'
'oh that Rahul my new boss sala Akru gave me 3 night shifts because i answered back'
'But Geet you should not have answered back'
'what else should i have done huh Rahul let him make me do whatever he wants' Geet said annoyed.
'Woah Geet calm down'
At that point Maan walked in. Seeing Rahul with Geet made him angry and jealousy.
'sorry Rahul'
Rahul put his hands over Geet's hands. Maan was burning in anger and jealousy. He wanted to kill Rahul right there. Rahul noticed something.
'Geet where is the engagment ring?' Geet looked down at her hand and saw it was missing. She tried to remember and realised its in her locker. She had put it there the day she had to operate on Maan when he had the accident.
'woh its'
'What the hell Geet? How could you lose it? Its the symbol of our engagment. How could you be so careless?' Rahul shouted at Geet.
Tears were brimming in Geet's eyes. She had never been shouted at in the later part of her life. Espeically Rahul her best friend who had always been there for her. Rahul knew she didnt love him but still accepted her with her past.
'Do you even know how expensive it was. For gods sake Geet find it now. I even accepted you with your past the least you could do would be to regard my gifts and the ring I accepted you knowing what your past holds but how did i forget you couldnt even acknowledge what a big favour i did on you by accepting you' That last sentence broke Geet and was the straw that broke the camels back. Rahul was angry at the ring going missing that he didnt even realise what he said to Geet. His money and gifts meant a lot to him. Geet stood up
'Where are you going Geet come back here and find the bloody ring?' Maan was angered at seeing pain in Geet's eyes. Geet quickly ran to her locker and got the ring and the gifts Rahul gave to her. Rahul was there.
'Here you are Rahul your ring. And all your expensive gifts. What did you think Rahul that i couldnt look after your things that you gave me. They meant a lot to me since you cared for me a lot. And you were my best friend. Here is the engagment ring that you put on me. I'm sorry it wasnt on my hand because i didnt want it to get dirty or lost when i undertook an operation. You know what Rahul take these things back. I don't want them nor do i need them and here' Geet took Rahul's hand and put the engagment ring in his hand.
'Neither do i need this. I am breaking my engagment with you Mr Rahul thank you for reminding me the massive favour you did by accepting me with my past. I don't need your sympathy or your favours. I don't need you in my life. Rahul you were my best friend and i trusted you never to hurt me. But today' Geet tried hard not to cry.
Rahul looked at her and realised that he said something wrong but Geet didnt have to break the engagment nor make the issue big now Rahul whose father was a big business man would disgraced in the newspaper if word got out that Rahul and Geet's engagment broke as it was a big public affair. Rahul had changed ever since he had left medicine and entered the business world. He had only cared about image. Geet realised Rahul had changed but today he had broken the limits.
'Geet'
'Leave Rahul'
'Geet please listen to me. Don't break the engagment. It was my mistake'
'Why Rahul so at another time if i do lose something you can blame me again?' Geet said. Rahul grabbed her hand hard. Geet winced in pain. Maan and another couple who were there witnessing the whole thing were looking. Maan saw the pain in Geet's eyes.
'Don't make a scene here and come on' Rahul dragged Geet out. Maan followed.
'Listen you Miss Geet Handa, You do not have a right to break this engagment.' Rahul said pinning Geet aganist his car.
'Rahul I don't want to listen to you let me go' Geet said 'my patients need me'
'Listen Geet, and listen to me well. I do not want my family name ruined in the media by our engagment breaking. I still love you i know i went a bit overboard'
'you love me Rahul? What happened to you? 6 months it took you to change. You always used to be there for me and always used to take me out for dinner movies and had fun. You changed Rahul'
'Geet i had to change. I need to earn money for me. I mean us for a bright future. Thats why i had to stop'
'Money' Geet whispered.
'What'
'Rahul move I don't want to talk to you. Your no longer my Rahul my best friend. Your someone different'
'Geet' Rahul grabbed her arm as she tried to leave
'Rahul our relationship is over' Geet said and left. Rahul stood there shocked.
Maan watched Geet as she walked away. Maan thought to himself
first me then Rahul broke your heart. Geet please give me one more chance and i will never break your heart i will always be there for you. I will love you like there is no tomorrow.
PRECAP:
Rahul apologising. Geet forgives him but still rejects engagment and says to Rahul

Rahul worried due to media outrage.
Geet now finally happy. Realises she doesnt need men in her life.
Meanwhile Maan finds out about Sneha illness and feels upset.
Sneha smiles and tells Maan not to worry. Maan and Sneha make Geet jealous.
Geet confessing her feelings to Nazi..Nazi to meet Maan who was talking to Sneha
'Maan Bhai' Maan turns to see her and says
'Sorry who are you?'
'Geet younger sister'
'Where is Geet? She didnt answer her phone is she all right? What happened to her?'
Nazi smiled seeing Maan worried for her
'Maan bhai do you love didi'
Maan turned to stare at her and smiled and describes Geet at what she makes him feel.
'Good then I'm with you because didi loves you too' Nazi and Maan and Sneha smiled
