Geet awoke the next morning with a heavy head. She opened her eyes and got up startled with her surroundings. She wondered where she was. It was not her room. She tried to piece together what happened. The last thing she remembered was having orange juice. She turned to her left and saw Maan sitting up sleeping. She looked at him in shock. He was not wearing his shirt. Geet looked at her hand and saw it was locked into Maan's hand. She was holding his hand tight. She let go of his hand and stood up off the bed and saw she was not in her own clothes either. All her sudden movements made Maan wake up too. She looked at him and quickly grabbed the duvet and covered her legs which were visible.
'Geet' He began.
'Tum yaha main yahan aur mere kapre' (you, me here and my clothes)
'Geet mere baat suno you were drunk' (Geet listen to me)
'toh tumhe laga ke tum mere fiada utouge' (so you thought you would take advantage of me)
'Geet listen to me'
'aur tumne mere kapre aur mere saat bed pe sogai te aur pata nahi kal raat tumne mere saat kya kya kiya hoga, meh to hosh main nahi ti tum to teh na' (and you my clothes sleeping with me and I don't know what you must have done to me last night but I wasn't in my senses but you were weren't you)
'Geet suno kal raat'
'mujhe to laga ke tum shayad jo bahar se dekti ho tum aise nahi ho, mujhe laga ke tum andar se ek bohot ache insaan ho aur dil ke bi acche par tumne mere saat maza aya' (I thought maybe what you are from outside your not from the inside. I thought u were a nice person but what you did with me did u have fun?)
'Bus Geet bas ab bohot hogaya tumhara ab mere baat suno' (enough, you've said enough now listen to me) Maan got off the bed and walked towards Geet. Geet unconsciously dropped the duvet and walked back until she hit the wall. Maan walked up to her blocking her exit and his hands on either side of her face against the wall.
'meh chata to tumhari saat kuch bi karsakta ta liken maine aisa kuch bi nahi kiya. Kal raat tumne sharab pe li ti, kisi ne tumhari orange juice main dal diya ta, aur koi ta kal raat jo tumhari saat aisa harqat karna chahta ta liken maine aus waiter ki baat sunli aur tumhe ghar chorne chalagaya ta liken ek landslide ke wajah se hum ghar tumhari ghar nahi pochpai, isliye mujhe tumhe majbooran yaha mere ghar lana para. Kal raat tum baarish main khel rahi ti aur tumhari kapre gelee hogayi isliye maine light bandh karke aur aakhein bandh karke tumhari kapre change kiye te take tumhe bukaar na hojaye. Aur rahi yaha sonee ke baat tum raat main daar gayi ti aur mere haath tightly pakar raka ta isliye main yaha ta. Kal raat aisa waise kuch nahi hua ta samji. Aur pata nahi tum mere bare main kya soch rahi ho, liken for your kind information, maine tumhari saat kuch nahi kiya nahi kuch karna chata ho samji.' ( If I wanted I could do anything to you but I didn't. Last night you drank alcohol which was mixed with your orange juice. There was someone who wanted to do something with you, but I heard the waiter and I went to drop you home. But we couldn't reach your home due to a landslide. That's why I had to bring you here. Last night you were playing in the rain and got wet so I had to change your clothes so u dnt get fever. I turned the light off and closed my eyes and changed yor clothes. And talking about sleeping here, you were scared and held my hand tight that's why I was here. Nothing as such happened last night that you are thinking. I don't know what you think about me. But I didn't do anything with you and nor do I want to.
'Maan I'm sorry' Geet began.
'Tumhari kapre waha hai aur dry hochuke, main abhi servant ke haat breakfast bejwata ho aur driver ke kehkar tumhe ghar pochdega'.(your clothes are dry I will call the servant and get you breakfast and the driver will drop you home) Maan said coldy and left the room. Geet was feeling guilty for hurting Maan.
The following two days in college, Geet tried to talk to Maan but he ignored her. Her accusations had hurt him. He didn't understand why. Why he had to clarify to Geet. Why did her accusations hurt him as much. Meera and Yash spoke to Geet and confirmed what Maan said. Maan was still interested and wanted to know who was after Geet.
Following night
Geet was on her way home from shopping in a taxi when the taxi broke down in the middle of no where. The road was dark and deserted.
'betiya tum yaha rook main mechanic ko lekar ata ho' (stay here I will get the mechanic)
Geet stood outside the taxi it was quite dark and the only light that was coming was from a streetlight a few meters away and the moon. She paced up and down waiting for the taxi driver to return. She turned around and saw a jeep of guys who were drunk.
'wooo sexy what an item humari to raat bangayi' one of the guys said. The guys jumped off the jeep and walked towards her. Geet started walking back. They came towards her. Geet petrified ran. The guys started running after her.
Meanwhile a mile down Maan was standing outside his jeep he had opened his bonnet to see what the problem was as his jeep had broken down. He walked towards his car door when someone bashed into him and was about to fall but Maan held the person by the waist.
Geet ran kept turning behind to see how far the guys were when she bashed into a unknown person and was about to fall when she felt his arms holding her waist. She closed her eyes in fright. Maan moved her hair from her face and Geet opened her eyes.
'Tum' They both exclaimed. Maan held her up.
'Tum yaha kya karahi ho) (what are u doing here) Maan asked pissed off. Geet walked up to him and held his hand/
'wo main taxi main ghar jarahi ti aur taxi karab hogayi aur taxi driver mechanic lene chalagaya aur kuch gonde mere piche pari te' Geet stuttered. (i was going home in a taxi and the taxi broke down and the dirver went to get a mechanic and some thugs were behind me)
'Oi hero side me haat aur ladki ko hamari hawale kar' (oi move and give me the girl) said one of the thugs who had caught up and the others were behind. Maan looked up at the thug and saw Geet frightened.
'please help me'
She gripped his hand tight and went behind him. Maan felt her fear. Anger arose in his eyes. The thug came towards Geet and held her free hand pulling her. Maan with his free hand punched him. The guy fell down and yelled in pain. He grabbed Geet and shoved her in his jeep. The other guys came to fight with Maan. Maan one by one incapacitated all the guys who were lying on the floor. What Maan didn't anticipate was there was another guy behind him who hit him hard on the head with a stick.
'MAAAAAAAAAAAAAN' Geet screamed. The guy opened the jeep door and grabbed Geet. Maan turned to see Geet being dragged. He got up uncaring about the pain on his head and shoulder. He punched the man. One of the other guys picked up a gun and aimed it at Maan. Geet saw it and jumped and pushed Maan out of the way and they both fell and rolled down the hill. (the place was like a deserted road with a foresty hilly type area) Maan had heard the shot but was unaware who had got shot. They both stopped rolling when they had reached the end of the hill. Maan turned to see Geet and saw her unconscious. He looked at her shoulder it was bleeding. He examined it and realised that the bullet had just touched her. He removed her duppata ripped it and tied it around her arm. Geet awoke.
'Maan are you okay, tumhe goli to nahi lagi na' (Maan are you okay u didn't get shot did you) Geet said getting up feeling a slight discomfort in her hand. She hugged him tight. Maan hugged her back and said 'nahi lekin tumhe goli chu ke nikle hai, tumne mere jaan bachaye' (No but the bullet just grazed you, you saved my life)
'liken tumne to mere jaan bi bachayi haina kitni baar' (so have u so many times) Maan looked at her and Geet looked at him. Eyelock. Both hearts felt a new feeling.
