Geet got up early and got ready'her feet was still hurting her and she had no option but to wear flats after applying medication'she was so excited and nervous at the same time..she really hoped that he was not some budha'that would be really awkward and weird..She grabbed a rose from her backyard and left the house'
On the other hand Maan didn't go to sleep the whole night'he kept on checking his time every hour to see if it was time to go or not..he had gotten ready by 6 am and just sat there on the couch thinking about how she would be, how she would look and talk'he couldn't wait any longer'the minute clock hit 7 he got out of the couch and ran out the door..he decided to walk to the place which was about 20 minutes away from the hotel'
Geet arrived at her favorite coffee place and ordered herself a latte'she looked around the tables there were red rose on each table'she was shocked' "oohh fish..why there are roses on each table'how would he recognize me now?"
Geet asked the cashier: umm excuse me why do you have roses on each table?
Cashier: Ma'am today is rose day
Geet: Rose day?
Cashier: we are doing this new tradition...every day we are going to have something different planned for every customer..to make them feel more welcomed and at home
Geet smiled: umm ohh ok "Damn out of all the days today had to be a rose day'ohh fish'now what?" She took her coffee and sat on one of the table' "maybe I should make myself look more available..so that when he walks in he knows it's me" She took out the rose from the table and holds it in front of her as if she is proposing to someone' "this looks so stupid Geet" She looks toward the entrance.. each time she sees a guy walking in she holds a rose in her hands'couple of guys smiled at her and some thought she is weird'she looks at her watch and realizes its only 7:30.. "damn I just made a fool out of myself in front of everyone holding a rose'its only 7:30..we had decided to meet at 8..you are so stupid Geet..ugh" she puts the rose on the table and starts drinking her coffee while looking at the entrance'
Maan had reached the coffee palace before going in..he checks himself in the glass reflection fixing his hair and making sure that he is dressed nice..he knew he was early but he wanted to be the first one there when she enters the caf with a rose'he goes in and orders any coffee to make it look like he is here to drink'.he looks around and sees Geet sitting at a table..who turned her head to the other side after seeing him'.
"ohh damn I had to see this khadus face today..I thought I would be spared from him 'great I hope he doesn't come and sit with me" She takes out a book from her bag that she always carries around and pretends to read it'.in between she looks at Maan from the corner of her eyes to see what he is doing' "oohh damn he is coming here..babaji yesterday was not enough that you had to put him in front of me today too"
Maan grabbed his coffee and didn't know if he should say hi to her or not'it is obvious she saw him but looked the other way and starts to read a book' "this girl na will drive anyone crazy..I feel for her husband or future husband" He saw a rose on the table in front of Geet.. "could she be the NyQueen???" He looked around at other tables and found a red rose on each table'with a sigh of relief "thank god..its not her..I knew it can't be her" He decides to go up to her and say hi just for the sake of working together'
Maan: ahem hi
Geet looked up pretending to be shocked: umm hi
Maan: What are you doing here this early?
Geet: umm nothing just drinking coffee and relaxing for a bit
Maan: umm well do you mind if I sit here for couple of minutes?
Geet reluctantly: sure Sir "gadha kahi ka..if he says anything mean to me..I swear to god I will kick him where I know it would hurt him for life"
Maan sits down..both feeling awkward and don't know what to say: umm what book are you reading?
Geet: Its a James Patterson book called "Honeymoon".
Maan: Honeymoon?
Geet: yeah its a suspense book about this black widow named Nora who kills rich guys for their money..its really good'I love suspense books!
Maan: ohh ok'never heard of James Patterson
Geet shocked: OMG you serious..he is the best author'.you should try reading his books
Maan: umm alright'. (it got quiet for some time'than they heard the jingle of the door..both looked toward the door expecting to be the "person" they came here to meet'but it turned out to be two old couples)
Maan: Well I am going to sit somewhere else..enjoy the book
Geet: umm thanx ("was he being nice to me?"..whatever I wonder where is DelhisShark")
Maan sat at table behind Geet..his back was facing toward Geet'he was getting so nervous'he started thinking about NyQueen again'he looked at his watch it was 7:50' "OMG it is almost 8..she should be coming any minute now'how should I sit" He started moving in his chair trying to act as casual as possible and not some despo.
Geet couldn't concentrate on the book at all'she was getting so nervous with each passing minute thinking about DelhisShark'it was about to be 8 and no sign of him'she looked around the room and barley anyone was there expect for that "gadha", some guys and some couples enjoying their coffee'"hmm it would be easy for DelhisShark to recognize me'being that I am the only girl here"
They both waited and waited..it was around 8:30 now and still no sign of the person they came here to meet'Geet was getting worried if something had happened to him or if he had decided not to come at all..Maan was getting mad and frustrated and worried'he hoped that nothing had happened to her' "maybe there is a good reason as to why she didn't come"'after few minutes he saw Geet getting up and walking out of the caf as he watched her leave his eyes fell on her feet'there was a bandage behind the heel of her feet she was limping' "What happened to her feet?..should I ask her?..nah whatever I should wait for another couple of minutes to see if she would show up"
He heard his cell phone ring'he looked at the ID of the person who was calling him "Damn I forgot"
Maan: Hello
Dev: where are you'I went to the hotel to pick you and Adi up but you had left in the morning'
Maan: Yeah, I decided to walk today..I will meet you guys at the company
Dev: umm alright..see you than
Maan hung up the phone and decided to leave the caf..he would email her later to ask her for a reason..he knew that something has to happen for her not to show up today'as he was getting up he noticed a rose on the floor by Geets table..he picked it up and placed it back on the table before leaving'.
Geet reached home she was so freaking pissed that he didn't show up'she decided to email him and ask for a reason' "Why is that the person I want to see doesn't come and the last person on earth I would want to see you place him right in front of my face'that stupid gadha kahi ka..ugh" Suddenly, she sneezed' "Great I knew this was coming..I had seen his face I knew something bad would happen to me" She changed her outfit and slept till the afternoon'.
Maan walked inside the building and collided into someone'
Vicky: Can't you see where you are going? You broke my phone
Maan: Am sorry here let me help you'(Maan bends down and picks up the phone and gives it back to Vicky) here you go
Vicky was shocked to see Maan: Maan?
Maan: Vicky?
Vicky: Omg its been such a long time since I have seen you..how have you been?
Maan: I am good'I came here for couple of weeks..
Vicky: you didn't tell me about it?
Maan: sorry yaar ever since college I lost your contact information and everything
Vicky: its alright..listen I am in a hurry..why don't we for lunch right here at 12?
Maan: Sure that sounds good
Vicky: Alright see you than
Geet woke up around 12 with a heavy head and her cold got worse now' she cursed the day she met Maan'she had no energy to get off the bed to make herself some lunch'she called Vicky to see what he was doing and to tell him what happened'
Vicky and Maan met up for lunch remembering about their college days
Maan: Vicky you have seriously changed a lot
Vicky: Thanx I will take it as a compliment..so tell me what were you doing in the same building'
Maan: I came here as a client to this firm ____ with my assistant
Vicky looked at Maan "please tell me he is not the same client that Geet was cursing out on": Wait are you working with Geet?
Maan: yeah unfortunately I am..why?
Vicky laughed out loud: No way
Maan looked at Vicky confused: why you know her?
Vicky saw his phone ringing and saw it was Geet (Well speak of the devil)' "hold on for a minute Maan" He answered his phone call while Maan continued to eat....
Vicky: Hey Geet (Maan looked at Vicky hearing her name)
Geet: woh nahi aaya
Vicky confused: kaun nahi aaya Geet? What happened to your voice?
Geet: Forget my voice for a moment..I am sick'I am talking about DelhisShark..we had planned to meet today..he didn't come
Vicky shocked: DelhisShark'you had planned to meet him? How? Where? Isn't he in Delhi?
Maan drops his sandwich hearing his last conversation.. "Geet!!!!! It was GEET!!!! What!!!! No ways..it can't be'Ohh damn!" He couldn't believe it' "its Geet who is NyQueen?...this has to be a joke"
