Part 105

"Geet this is the last chance you have to come back into Veerji's life and get rid of all the confusion you've had all these years. Now how you make use of it is in your hands. But you will not come out of this building until you talk to that witch" said Kia, sounding very angry.

"I will not talk to anyone", I retaliated.

"Alright", said Kia and dragged me, and asked the security there to push me into the chamber where Naintara is And close the door. She texted me, "you either talk to her or spend the rest of the night here. The choice is yours".

Maan laughed and Geet growled. "Its not funny. I was stuck with a witch all night and you're laughing?"

"Until you are pushed to the limits, your brain refuses to work is it, Geet?", asked Maan, laughing even louder.

"Mr. Maan Khurana, you better stop laughing", said Geet, pointing her finger at him and throwing him annoying looks.

"If I don't, what will you do? Will you leave me again and run away?", he asked, grinning now.

"Run away? Excuse me, I did not run away from you, I left you and went away", she corrected him.

"Lets get to the facts, Darling. The truth is that you could not face the situation, you did not want to lose, so you ran away. You were scared, to see your Maan with someone else", he said seriously.

Geet had nothing to say, in defence. She kept quiet and decided not to argue any further. She wanted to get over with this and move on. She did not want her past or rather their past to torture them anymore. She wanted to make a new beginning with Maan and settle things down and live happily with her family.

So she continued, with the flashback.

"So, I had no choice but to start a happy conversation with Naintara about how thankful I was to her. I also told her and I believed her completely and that I would try my best to bring her out of jail and also take back all the cases that were filed on my name by Vishal. I told her that I would never get back to you and she believed me. She showed her true colors of revenge and spat the truth out. I got furious. I slapped her twice and walked out of the chamber, crying. Kia was waiting for me and even Daadima was with her".

"I realized how big a mistake I made and did not know what to do. Daadi told me to come back to the mansion and that all of you would accept me and be more than happy to have me back. I tried calling you, but I was told that Muskan and you left the country for sometime. Sasha, informed me the next day, that you were not happy with everything happening and hence you decided to stay out of Delhi for sometime. Sasha was not sure where to contact you as you would only send emails and you had not given any contact number. I had to wait, for another two years for you to come back. And even after that, you were not ready to take my calls or talk to me. I knew you were hurt but you would talk to me, some day. SO, I kept trying and I guess, we are destined to stay together and hence I walked into your office to work as a CA for Khurana Group of Companies", she said, taking a deep breath and cutting short the painful story.

There was complete silence for sometime and neither of them spoke. They looked into space for sometime and did not know how to react. Geet realized they had been sitting at the dining table and that both of them had finished their dinner. She spoke up, breaking the pin drop silence, "I'll clear up the table", she said, getting up from her chair and taking the plates away with her. Maan nodded his head and said, "I'll go get my car keys".

Geet stopped mid-way and turned to look at him, "You have a meeting at ten in the night, Mr. Khurana?Why do you need the car keys now?"

"Yes Geet, I forgot to tell you, I have a very important meeting to attend", he said, walking out of the dining room and spoke up again, "Don't worry I'll be back very soon".

Geet rolled her eyes and grumbled to herself, "duniya badal jayegi, lekin Maan Singh Khurana nahi badalenge". She got to work and celared up the dining table and the kitchen. She wondered what she would do now and decided to change and go to bed. She walked out of the kitchen and found Maan sitting in the living room, reading a newspaper.

"yeh kya? Aapko bahar jaana than a, meeting ke liye. Gaye nahi?", she asked, sitting beside him. he put the newspaper aside and said, "chalo!"

"Mujhe nahi aana. Tumhare meetings na bahut boring hote hain. Mai aur bhi bore ho jaungi. Isse accha hai ki main, ghat baitke TV dekhoo, aur thodi der phone pe baat karu".

"Chup chap chalo, Geet", he said, standing up and giving her his hand.

"Maine kaha na, mujhe tumhare boring business meetings mein nahi aana", she said, turning her face away.

"Chalo Geet!", he said, again.

She stood up and looked at him, furiously. He smiled and said, "Chalo!" she rolled her eyes and walked out of the mansion and he followed her. She stood in the parkway confused as to which car she should get into. He gave her the keys and pointed to a black colored Audi, parked to their right.

"tum drive karo", he said, and went and took the seat beside the drivers seat.

She stood there amazed. That was his favorite car and he never let anyone touch it. Today he's asking her to drive. "Hey babaji, meri raksha karna", she said, slowly walking towards the car and suddenly stopped on her way and said, "nahi babaji, is car ki raksha karna. Yeh car inki favorite hain. Bas is car ki raksha karna. Baaki sab main dekh loongi".

"kaha jaane hain?", she asked, taking the drivers seat.

"jahan tum le chalo", he said, looking out of the window.

"aapka meeting tha na. Office jayenge", she said, turning the ignition on.

"Nahin, take the farmhouse road", he said then continued, "By the way, do you know how to drive an automatic car?"

"that you should have asked before declaring me to drive, not after. Now, I'm driving this car, anyway, whether I know manual or automatic or whatever", she said, proudly.

Maan smiled and said, "Alright. Go on, take the farmhouse road".

She looked at him, questioningly and he said, "No, we are not going to the farmhouse and I have a meeting, remember?"

Geet shook her head in frustration and accelerated. They travelled in complete silence for almost an hour and Maan observed Geet's driving skills very carefully. He was amused at how well she had the vehicle in her control. He then spoke after sometime, "take the first left, and then left again".

"where are we going?", she asked.

"Just keep going, honey", he said. Geet took the first left and then left again and came to a screeching halt in front of a huge blackk iron gate. "yeh tuo dead end hain. Guess I took the wrong turn", she said, putting the reverse gear, to back up.

Maan held her hand on the gear rod and said, "you're at the right place", and said, "lets go".

Geet turned off the ignition and got out and walked behind Maan. The iron gets flashed open and an old man came running towards them, "Namaste chote saab. Khushi hui aapko dekh kar", and turned towards Geet and greeted her, "Namaste, Madam ji".

Geet smiled and continued to walk behind Maan, who now walked behind the old man. The old man spoke up, "Jaise savitri ji ne kahan hain, waise maine sab taiyyar kiya. Ghar ke poora kaam khatam ho chukka hain, saab!"

Maan nodded his head and they walked into the mansion. Geet was amazed at the opulence. They looked around the place for sometime and Maan made a few changes to the mansion's interior design.

The old man spoke up again, "Madam ji, car keys dijiye. Main park kar dunga. Aap aaram kijiye".

Geet looked at Maan, surprised and Maan said, "we'd be staying here for some more time and the car is right on the road. Give him the keys", he said.

Geet gave the old man the keys and Maan spoke up, "aap bhi jaake aaram kijiye. Main kal subeh baat karunga aap se".

The old-man nodded his head and walked away, closing the door behind him. they could hear the car get parked in the drive way on the mansion and then heard the doors of the outhouse shut.

"he's the care-taker here", said Maan, sitting on the couch and turning the aircon on.

"when did you get this place?", geet asked, still looking around, the mansion.

"I got this place on Muskan's first b'day. I had made some big deals and hence I got this place, since I liked it. This is on Muskan's name. Daadi wanted to make some changes to this place to make it suit the Khurana magnificence and hence got the place renovated. Its all ready now. Furniture's all set and all ready to be used".

"I see!", she said, sitting beside him on the couch. "Its beautiful,Maan", she said, turning to look at him.

"I know", he said, in arrogance.

"why are we staying here?", she asked.

"Well, we can go back, if you want to drive all the way back", he said, lazily.

"and you're meeting?", she asked.

Maan took a deep breath and said, "I know you're dumb, but did not know you were this dumb. I have no meeting Geet. I was pulling your leg and you happily let me do it".

"Kya?", she asked, angrily.

"Ice-cream chahiye?", he asked.

"Haan!", she said, smiling, forgetting all her anger. He was about to get up, when he heard his phone ring. He looked at the number and said, "lo, tumhari beti ka phone hain, baat kar lo", he said, giving Geet the phone.

He walked into the kitchen and Geet spoke to her daughter. Maan came back ten minutes later and found Geet engrossed in the conversation with her daughter. He smiled and gave her the ice-cream bowl and sat beside her. She finished eating the ice-cream and did not even realize it. She continued talking and after what seemed like an hour, Maan showed her the time in his wrist watch. It was fifteen minutes past eleven.

He whispered to Geet, "she has to get to bed, Geet. its pretty late. Talk tomorrow".

Geet ended the conversation and gave Maan his phone. She looked at the empty ice-cream bowl and looked back at Maan.

"There's more in the refridgerator", he said, getting up from the couch and making his way to the bedroom on the first floor.

"aap kahan jaa rahe ho?", she asked.

"Sone!", he said and continued walking. He went into the bedroom and stood in the huge balcony. Geet came up after twenty minutes and did not find Maan in the bedroom. she found the huge glass doors open and she could see some light outside, in the balcony through the transparent white curtains. She made her way into the balcony and found Maan sleeping on a round shaped bed, in the middle of the balcony. All around, were some plants and crotons. The place was cool and there was pleasant breeze. Maan had lit some lanterns so that the entire place would not be completely dark, as it was a no moon night.

Geet walked towards the bed and found Maan in deep sleep. She got into bed beside him and turned away from him and closed her eyes. A couple of minutes later, she opened her eyes in shock when two strong hands encircled her waist and pulled her back on bed.
