Chapter 44: The Ride Back

Just as they were getting into their car, his cousin Lavanya, Sarala aunty's daughter, ran up to them to ask if they would give a ride to Neela and Araya who were on the way. The additional two people in the car squished Gauri into him. He felt her stiffen and felt angry again; it was incredible that she could act like he had done something wrong when it was she who was meeting her ex- in secret. By the time the car started, he was angry enough that he started taking advantage of the fact that she was pressed up against him. He made sure that it was so subtle that she wasn't aware that it was conscious on his part. They were making pleasantries with the siblings and he was glad to see that Neela was much more comfortable in his presence now. He decided that he liked Aarya and finally figured out where he had seen him when Gauri started talking to him about the picnic.

Gauri sat facing the siblings, her back fitting into his chest, and thus she couldn't quite see what he was doing or really communicate with him without making it obvious that she was angry with him. So she sat there cocooned in his arms while he started doing exactly what she thought was so unbelievably simple about him – that he was good at pleasuring a woman. Her other words rang in his ears now as he recalled the conversation from earlier… "…but I assume he's not the last man on the planet who knows how to pleasure a woman's body?" His blood boiled as it replayed in his head. She will know tonight that as far as she was concerned, he was indeed the last man on the planet. He was the only man who will pleasure her body that way… ever! Starting now…

It started with an inconspicuous touch here and a discreet caress there, just enough that her posture unstiffened and, without knowing, she relaxed into him. So much so that once Neela and Aarya were dropped off, she seemed startled that she had to scoot away from him. He let her move away and made no attempt to stop her; it didn't help to come on strong, that just gave her the opportunity to resist… Besides, the seeds had already been planted; contrary to what she thought, he knew her body better than she did… and he intended to use it against her to let her know that she was not as in control and immune to him as she liked to pretend… it was a strange thing that he was planning on using her body's response to him to make her understand that she felt more for him than just lust…

When the car finally stopped in front of their house, she was in such a rush to get out that when she opened the car door and slid out, she didn't notice that he was sitting on the tail of her sari. The force of her movement ripped her sari's edge off of where it had been pinned to her blouse. She leaned into the car to pull on her sari and his eyes dropped to her blouse that fit her like second skin. She followed his gaze down and put her hand over her cleavage, shielding it from him. When her eyes found his again, he merely pulled the sari's edge out from underneath him and she quickly pulled it out and wrapped it over her. He smiled then… there was a lot that his wife had yet to learn about him… this unbelievably simple man that she had married who was only good at sex… there was a little part of him that whispered that she had only said those things in response to what Thalia had started. But he ignored those whispers… no matter what the context, Gauri had made it clear what she thought of him… the viper-tongued shrew that she was… he was going to teach her there was a thing or two that she didn't know…
