Maan held on to Geet ,as they entered the hospital.Upon entering he felt Geet tremble,looking at her he noticed how pale she had become within minutes.Maan ran his hands up and down but nothing was helping,he knew that today she would break down and he would never be able to forget this day.

"Ms Geet?"Ms Anwesha asked seeing the young women clad in a sari.

"Yes?"Geet said as the family stopped behind her.

"Hey,I am Dr Anwesha.I am the one that called you"

"Dr How is she?"Sanaya voiced the question Geet could ask.

"Well,I do not think it is good.She is on her final stage,and this point the cancer has spread significantly .Brain cancer is very dangerous Miss,and now nothing can be done. I am so sorry,but your mother told me years ago that she did not want anyone of you finding out.It's strange Ms Geet,but I really do admire your mother.She has been so strong over the years.I must say,her case hit very close to home as my mother died with the same type of cancer.There were times when I wanted to just call you and let you know,God Forbid,I was not trying to take that privilege away from you.She is waiting in their Geet,go vist your mom hun…Oh before you go she left me a letter for you,she wants you to open it later and this letter she wants you to give to your child.''Geet failed to answer,in fact she only ran to the room where her mother was.

Here I lay in this plain white room thinking about life.The best days of my life invade my thoughts,as I think about the first time I met him,the first time I gave birth to Geet. Death, a phase that I feared the most has finally shadowed my life. Yet here I lay totally calm and in peace. I used to be so scared, but now when everything is falling in to place for my daughter,my heart feels at ease.All my worries are over,and soon all the struggles will be over.The only regret I have,is keeping my daughter in the dark for so long but she will understand.I know she will hate me,and I know I will never rest in peace until she has forgiven me but I did it for her.My last wish is to ask her babaji to keep her safe,and bless her with every possible happiness in the world.A girl who cried for years, is finally happy.She thought not being able to compose herself,Shilpa shed tears for leaving so early.

"M-aa" Shilpa saw her daughter enter the room,her ever so strong daughter had a tear stained face.

"Beta,kaisi ho?" Shilpa asked fighting back the tears.

"Maa,who sab bahar hain,let me get them"Geet said avoiding the question and walking outside.

"Shilpa Maa,aapne bataye nahi."Maan said as he looked at the women clad in a white.

"Beta." She looked at Geet who had gone to farthest corner of the room.

"Who bohot hurt hai Shilpa"Sanaya said fighting her own tears,over the years the women had become a part of her life.That women was now lying merely few centimeters away from her breathing her last breathe.

"Geet beta?Idher aao Please."Geet looked at her mother's pleading eyes and let her feet carry her towards the bed.

"Geet,yeh tum kiya keh rahi ho!She is not sta-"Maan came and hugged her and tried to convince her that she was wrong.

"SHE HAD THE MONEY TO GET THE TREATMENT.YOUR TELLING ME SHE WAS NOT STABLE!!!OH YEA SURE WE REALLY WERE LIVING ON THE STREETS, THAT SHE COULD NOT GET THE TREATMENT!IF IT WAS NOT ENOUGH I WOULD HAVE WORKED HARDER TO GET THAT MONEY…I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO SHARE HER PAIN."

"I thought ABOUT it Geet"Shilpa yelled as loud as she could.

"I walked in to your room each day to try to tell you,but each time I would see you clutching on to Ali's picture and crying.I did it for you Geet,you had too much to worry about.I did too Geet.I had to find you a proper family,and I did …….that was my way of apologizing to you."Shilpa said as Geet finally broke down running to her mother and lying beside her feet.

"Geet I love you beta!"She said as she closed her eyes.The doctor came in the room to chech her vital signs,but she knew that Mrs Shilpa had died.

"MOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM."Geet yelled falling to the ground

In a matter of minutes the family watched Geet fall to the ground,and just stay their.Maan rushed to Geet,shaking her but got no response.Although she had her eyes wide open.She stopped responding.

Shilpa Handa's funeral was held the next day,everyone was there mourning over the loss. The khurana family had watched Geet sitting there numb sitting there in a corner.

"Geet let's go you need to eat."Maan said,even he felt depressed.

"Geet beta chalo"Dadi tried after a fail attept by Maan

"Geet Maa,"Jannat and Chahat said shaking her getting no response.

"Geet,chalo na we will eat"Arohi said trying to be strong for Geet/

A few days passed,the house had become dangerously quite.Arjun,Vicky and Dev had tried everything to make their bhabi smile,but she just shed more tears.Maan was an emotional wreck trying to make his Geet smile.Everyone sat at the dinner table toying with their food, occasionally glancing at the empty spot that Geet once occupied. Maan felt disturbed ,as he saw Geet sleep on the couch.She had stopped coming near him,and went to bed before Maan would return.

A few days later things got worse,Geet would get ready and leave the house in the morning not returning until 9-10 at night.The family felt helpless all their attempts failed,then one day Maan walked in to the room only to see Geet almost gulp down rat poison.

"GEEEEETTTT"He said running to her and throwing the poison away.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING GEET"He said as tears fell helplessly from his eyes.
