Chapter 21
Dev and Meera were on the lawn not knowing what to talk about.
Meera: So where are you from?
Dev: I grew up in America came here about a week ago after my mom and dad's death. They always wanted me to get married in India.
Meera: Ohh that is nice. How do you know Maan then?
Dev: We know each other since childhood and Dadima treats me like her own grandson.
Meera: ohh ok..
Dev: umm Meera can I ask you a question?
Meera: Yeah sure
Dev: Why do you want to get married? I mean you look like a strong girl that can take care of herself without any support.
Meera: I don't know in a way I don't want to but at the same time when I think about it there is no harm in getting married early and settling down.
Dev: yeah you are right
Meera: Why you don't want to get married?
Dev: No it's not that I just wanted to make sure that you are not under anyone's pressure
Meera: Well I can assure you that I am not
Dev smiled: Alright so what do you currently do now?
Meera: I am doing my MBA hoping to get into business afterwards
Sargam came from behind: Chachu how much are you guys going to talk
Dev: Sargam we are talking go inside with DM
Sargam: DM told me to tell you guys to come inside. They want to know if you guys agreed for marriage or not
Meera laughed hearing Sargam: Sargam lets go inside…(She got up and went inside with Sargam while Dev followed after few minutes)
Dadima: lo aagaye yeh dono.. Meera came and sat with her parents while Sargam sat right between Maan and Dev. Maan on the other hand even though he was with them his eyes were on Geet who was still clearing the table with the help of Nakul. Dev saw Maan looking at Geet he instantly got angry. He didn't like it when Maan looks at Geet in front of him he didn't know why he gets jealous and angry at him. They both came out of their thoughts when they were interrupted.
Dadima: Dev beta toh kya faisla hai tum dono ka?
Dev: Dadima joh bhi Meera ka faisla hai woh mujhe manjoor hai
Dadima: Meera bete kya decide kya hai tumne?
Meera shyly: Ji Dadima main tyar hoon shadi karne ke liye
Dev weakly smiled at Meera and Maan who congratulated Dev and Meeras parents.
Maan called Sargam: Sargam come here
Sargam: Yes papa (Maan grabbed Sargam on his lap and whispered something in his ears…Sargam ran inside the kitchen)
Sargam: mama mujhe ek chota sa bhai chahiye
Geet was surprised hearing Sargam: Bhai? Yeh kisne kaha tumse?
Sargam: Papa ne
Geet now understands: Ohh come here…dekh lo kya tumhe bhai chahiye yah phir ek chota sa pyara sa puppy?
Sargam got excited: really mama???
Geet: Of course I will talk to DM and papa for you
Sargam: you are the best!
Geet: ok come here…(she whispered something inside her ears…Sargam ran outside to where Maan was while Geet continued cleaning the kitchen)
Sargam: papa mujhe puppy chahiye
Maan was not expecting this: puppy?
Sargam: haan mama ne kaha woh mujhe ek puppy degayi..please papa mujhe puppy chahiye…please please please aapne kaha tha ki aap mujhe ek puppy dege jab DM wapas aaygi mama ke saath…please please please please please papa
Maan thought "yeh kya Geet ne shuru kar diya..aab main isse kaise chup karoon?" Sargam beta hum kal baat karenge iske bare main
Sargam: no first tell me that you will buy me a puppy tomorrow…please papa..(she sat on Maan's lap while poking him on his chest for a puppy)
Geet came after finish cleaning the kitchen..she sat right next to Maan…
Maan leaned towards Geet: What did you do?
Geet looked at Maan's innocently: what do you mean?
Sargam: mama papa is going to get me a puppy tomorrow
Geet: That is good beta…don't let go of your papa all night…he might change his mind
Maan: Geet what are you doing? I will get you for this
Geet looked at Maan and smiled…she whispered in his ears: we will see
Sargam: mama you are right…I will sleep with you guys today and never let go of papa
Before Maan could say anything Geet spoke: of course beta…you can sleep with us (she turned towards Maan and gave him a victory smile…Maan was so angry at Geet)
Dadima: Geet beta Dev and Meera have decided to get married
Geet: congrats Meera (not really happy from the inside..but was glad that Dev might be out of the house after he gets married)
Dadima: Geet it will be your responsibility of Meera
Geet: Of course she is like my sister now and as her sister I will take full responsibility of her
Meera: Thank you Geet
Dadima: Alright so we will have the engagement next week than
Dev: Ji Dadima
Meera's Mom: Alright than we will leave...now we will meet on the day of the engagement
Dadima: Ji Namaste
Everyone bid Meera and her family goodbye while Dev went straight to his room unable to look at the sight of Geet with Maan that close. Dadima also left to go to sleep as it has been a long day and tomarow she might make a plan of going shopping.
Maan: Sargam lets go to sleep in your room
Sargam: No, I want to sleep with you and mama tonight
Maan: Sargam stop acting and go to sleep in your room...I will get you a puppy tomorrow
Geet: Maan if she wants to sleep with us than let her..why are you saying no..right beta?
Sargam: Thanx mummy..
Geet: come on Sargam lets go...(while going up the stairs she looked at Maan who was standing their fuming with anger..Maan saw her looking at him..she gave him a victories smile and left the place)
Maan to himself: Geet you won this round..wait till next time...(knowing very well that Sargam was also like Geet very very stubborn)
The next day Geet, Dadima and Meera went shopping all day for the engagement. Meera and Geet got really close in just a day. Geet wanted to talk to Merra about Dev but didn't know how to since so far he hasn't done anything that will make Maan realize what she is talking about. In the after they all left the shopping enter and made their way home after Dadima and Geet dropped Meera to her house.
Geet went straight to her room and was shocked to see the whole room being decorated with flowers from every corner. In the middle of the room there was a heart that was decorated with flowers with Geet written in the center. She stood there shocked as she took in the beauty of the room with a smile. Dev was outside the room watching Geet look around the room with awe... "Geet I want to see this same smile on your face everytime...one day I will make you mine" suddenly he realized that Maan is coming up the stairs he quickly hid himself behind a pillar as he watched Maan go inside the room...
Maan: Wow Geet I didn't know you could do something like this (he comes from behind and hugs her while kissing her neck..Geet turns around and looks at Maan with confused look)
Geet: I didn't do this Maan...I thought you did this...I was out the whole day with Dadima and Meera (Geet suddenly thought about Dev.. "could he have done this?" but she was brought out of her thoughts when Maan spoke)
Maan: I didn't do this either...but whoever did I must thank that person
Geet: Wha (Maan lifted her from the ground and brought her to the bed looking at her with love)
Precap: Geet calling Dev!
