Karan looked at the time as the clock ticked "7:00", he looked around to see where Shiklpa was, she sat peacefully out on the terrace reading a book and seemed pretty content, Karan walked over to the phone in the bedroom and called the attendant, "I'm calling from Deck 9, Karan Singh Grover, I had requested for special arrangements to be arranged," after about 4 nods and a smile he said, "Great, we'll be down in 10 minutes, could you just make sure the lights are slightly dimmed, she'll be the lady in red" he nodded once again and put the phone down.
He walked over to the terrace and watched her as she read the book, she had no clue he was standing right behind her, until he took the book out from her hands and said, "lets go, change, we have to be down in the ballroom in 10 minutes," she looked at him in a confused way and said, "Karan, what are you talking about?" and he repeated himself again, a little slowly, "Shilpa, you have 5 minutes to change sweetie, because we have to go downstairs," he said this as he pulled her along to the bedroom and opened the closet pulling out a red sleeveless dress, she looked at him and then the dress, he placed it in her open arms and said, "now change, I'll be in the living room" and he walked out leaving her and the dress alone...
Karan sat down on the couch and stared gazingly at the bedroom door, the crack in the door that he had left open showed not even a glimpse of Shilpa, he put his hand on his head and thought to himself, why can't she hurry up, he started tapping the heel of his shoe impatiently on the floor as he waited for her.
Shilpa took the dress out of the hanger, she looked at the color and smiled, "Sauce wala laal, had to be his favorite" the style was new to her and she didn't know how it would look but she put it on, the sleeveless neckline sat perfectly on her elegant swan-like neck, she walked over to the mirror and looked at herself, she smiled as she saw the reflection...the dress looked nice, she twirled around in front of the mirror to see how she looked in every angle, she wanted to make sure she looked perfect before going out in front of Karan.
Karan stood outside the door with a smile on his face as he watched Shilpa pirouetting in front of the mirror like a ballerina, she looked stunning in the dress, he watched her hair fly as she spun around and around, she looked absolutely beautiful, red definitely suited her...he watched her quietly until he could no longer hold it in anymore, he opened the door slightly and walked in to where she stood, he put his arms around her waist and slowly whispered, "kya baat hai jaaneman" he slowly nibbled on her ear as she tried to get away...he grabbed her wrists and said, "nuh-uh gorgeous, your not getting away so easily,"...Shilpa trembled and got a slight blush on her cheeks, all she managed to get out was...
"Karan, yahaan? Right now?"
And he looked at her and smiled, "No...your right, we've got all night, and I've got you...now if you don't mind, lets go," he winked at her and placed his arm in hers as they walked out of the bedroom...
Shilpa had no clue as to what she had in store for the rest of the night, but oh boy was she in for a surprise...;)
Karan and Shilpa walked down the steps hand in hand, the golden lights from the dangling chandelier sparkled down on the couple as they walked down, many of the on standing cruisers turned and looked, Karan and Shilpa seemed to be catching glances left and right, they looked amazing together, Shilpa seemed to be getting shy from all the attention and it was obvious from the way she gripped Karan's hand a little tighter, Karan looked at his hand and then looked up at her and said...
"Pyaar araha hai, baad mein jaani," she blushed even more as he said this but kept her hand in his, he noticed her hands getting slightly sweaty from being nervous and said...
"Don't worry, I'm here," he escorted her down the stairs and to the ballroom, the violinists looked at Karan and gave him a thumbs up as they noticed the "lady in red," the music immediately changed to a slow song and the lights dimmed down, Karan kneeled down on one knee and said, "Shilpa Anand, will you dance with me?" as he said this, creme colored curtains fell around them, separating them from the rest of the dancers, Shilpa looked around to see that it was just her and Karan now, he looked up at her and said "Shilpa, could you please...um...dance? Nahi toh mujhe arthritis ho jayega," she laughed and said...
"Karan, I'd love to dance," and she placed her hand in his as he got back up...and they slowly came together to dance, not as two souls, but as two souls that shared one heart ;)
Karan and Shilpa continued dancing passionately, Karan's hand rested on Shilpa's waist as they spun around and around, both lost in each other, Shilpa noticed the passion in Karan's eyes and ignored the way he looked at her, she noticed the love on his face, it wasn't the first time the passion was visible like this but she as usual wanted Karan to show that he really cared about her, she relaxed her hand on Karan's shoulder and danced as he leaded the steps, she was used to this now, although she was the dancer but he was used to leading, something about Karan always made him want to best in everything, not that she minded but at times she wished Karan would let things go her way as well, she let those thoughts out of her mind and enjoyed dancing, as Karan led her into spunning faster, her gaze rested on her left hand, third finger...which was empty...she wished for a diamond ring, not any diamond ring, but she wanted a diamond solitaire from Karan but it seemed like she was asking for a miracle, she took a slow sigh and let her gaze fall to the victorian style tiles...
Karan noticed the look on Shilpa's face, it seemed to be the look of disappointment, the same look they had talked about previously, the same one where she insisted the relationship be taken to the next level and he insisted that his career came first but as he noticed her sad face, he smiled in his heart...because he knew what he had in store and he knew she'd like it, he leaned closer to Shilpa's ear and as he slowly nibbled on the tip of her ear, he whispered..."you leave me stunned everyday..."
Shilpa looked at him with a smile, his eyes sparkled with a strange mischievous look, she could tell he was thinking something evil but what he was thinking, she couldn't try to figure out, she pushed him away with one hand and said, "dance kero...koi dekh lega" he looked at her and grabbed her hand from the wrist, the same she had pushed him with and said, "oyye hoyye, bura hai chaska...laga hai chaska," and he smiled and winked at her, Shilpa tried to read his face and figure out what he meant, but just then the lights completely went off leaving them alone in the dark...
"Karan, yeh lights?" Karan heard her soft voice with a hint of fear in it, he could tell she was scared and he knew she had been scared of the dark but he was given no choice, he pulled her closer and said, in a husky voice "Shilpa, kya tumhe, mere saath, is andheri raath...mein...akele...dar...lagta hai?" He was close enough for Shilpa to feel his breath on her neck...of course he was just teasing her, he needed just enough time for his plan to go through.
Shilpa went from being slightly calmed to even more restless...she thought to herself, was Karan planning on doing something, here? in between the curtains?! She immediately thought to herself and her next self defense fame with the punch in Karan's stomach, the only sound that came from Karan seemed to be like a "oufche!" "SHILPA!" But he controlled his anger, he was just slightly glad she had hit him smack in the stomach and not below...goodness he thought to himself, Shilpa's hitting skills had definitely improved since the time they had first met.
Shilpa immediately noticed what she had done and apologized, "I'm sorry, did that hurt?," Karan replied sarcastically with a "Not at all, but I'm allowed to get revenge,"...
Shilpa noticed a teasing tone in his voice and knew she was in for trouble, she tried to run but couldn't really go anywhere in the dark, next thing she knew...someone was lifting her up, that someone was Karan of course, she felt the manly arms circle around her and lift her up, she felt the warmth of his body as she was now in his arms and off the ground, she felt her heartbeat raise...
What was he going to do, Shilpa thought to herself, as Karan had his own thoughts running through his mind.
"Shilpa, have you gained weight?" Karan teased, as he held Shilpa in his arms, he watched the colors of the lights changing outside the curtains...he was trying not to pay attention to the fact that he was holding her, call it controlling desires or holding back the passion, Karan felt her hand slowly touch his back, he could tell she was holding back...
She finally said, "Karan, what are we doing here? You and me? Me in your arms?"...
Karan was waiting for this moment, he wanted her to ask and he had a reply, one that might make or break the moment but at this point he was going to take his chances, he tried looking into her eyes, he could only see the sparkle and said...
"Shilpa, I'm finally recognizing..." as he said this, he couldn't hold in the passion anymore, a soft light appeared into the ballroom and cast a soft shadow right onto Shilpa's face leaving a unique light on her lips, Karan was left mesmerized and in a trance, he had completely forgotten his sentence...
Shilpa's lips curled as she thought to herself...was Karan recognizing that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, she finally asked..."Karan, you finally recognized what?"
Karan stood there, holding a blushing angelic Shilpa in his arms, he couldn't get a sentence out, he finally got the courage to answer and all he manage to say was..."I..I...I...welll...we...I...we...both...I...recognized...rec...I...lov...I...um...its...um..." finally he gave up and took a long a deep breath, instead of saying anything, he slowly started moving towards Shilpa's lips, he felt as if he was no longer himself...he wanted her, he needed her and there was no other way he'd have it.
Just as he got close enough to go in for a kiss, he felt Shilpa's body respond as well, he felt her body go soft in his arms, was she really giving herself to him...he felt the passion in himself grow, the desire exceed limits, he felt the warmth of their bodies as they became one, he was still holding onto her, they were still in the ballroom and now he couldn't resist...he finally said.
"Shilpa, kya tum...mere saath...?"
But before he could finish, the lights came on...
Karan immediately looked up as he gained his balance again, the lights had suddenly shocked him to such an extent that he had almost dropped Shilpa.
He looked at Shilpa's face, she was not only blushing unconditionally but she had a new glow to her face, what the new glow was from...Karan had yet to determine.
Karan turned around, Shilpa still in his arms and said, "You asked what we were both doing here, well Ms. Shilpa Anand...we are celebrating our 4 year anniversary here" and he winked at her as he took her over to a table, Shilpa slightly confused, looked at the table and thought to herself, the table hadn't been there before, neither were the flowers, the champagne glasses, the dinner plates...she thought she was losing it.
Karan noticed her impression and said, "Don't worry...it appeared magically when the lights were out," and he winked at her, Shilpa blushed even more, she was sure she now looked like a tomato...Karan put her down on her two feet and she stood holding onto the table for a minute, she wasn't sure she'd have the energy to stand on her own...after the passionate moment she had just had, her heart was still beating fast and her pulse was still high, her knees trembled...she slowly whispered to herself "if these lights hadn't come on..."
Karan pulled out a chair for Shilpa and said, "Ms. Anand, have a seat...?" but Shilpa seemed to be lost replaying what had just happened in her mind, Karan walked over to her, slowly slid his arms around her waist, pulled her close to him with a sudden gesture leaving no space in between their bodies and gave her a passionate kiss on the neck along with a soft bite, he wanted to tease her with every step and he seemed to be succeeding. Shilpa closed her eyes to take in the moment, Karan had no idea what he was doing to her, her heartbeat started racing again...
Karan wondered if Shilpa was going through the same thing he was going through, his heartbeat increased, his grip around her tightened, he wanted Shilpa to be his, they had been in a relationship for 4 years now and now he thought it was time that it be taken to the next level, not only physically but mentally as well, he wanted to marry her, and during this trip, he'd make sure she went back home as his bride...
He felt her hand on his, as he turned her around, they were now standing face to face, Karan looked into her eyees...they both ended up speaking at the same time "I love..." and stopped to let the other proceed.
Shilpa smiled as she noticed that they had both spoken at the same time, and said, "you can go ahead..."
But Karan, now intent to finding out what Shilpa had to say replied with, "Ladies first,"...and smiled.
Shilpa finally said what she was saying, "Oh, well...I was just saying...I...um...I love you."
Karan looked at her, he could notice she was nervous and asked, "I love you what?"
She looked at him, in a confused manner, "I love you...Karan Singh Grover."
He looked at her again, noticing the blush creeping up her cheeks, as he grabbed her and slowly pulled her closer with a soft pull...
"Ms. Shilpa Anand, I could lift you in my arms again to take you to the chair but then I doubt we'd have any dinner..."
He took his arm out and Shilpa laced her arm through his, they walked to the chair that had been pulled out for Shilpa...
As she sat there now, she noticed the red and white balloons, the lights behind the curtains had changed, the music had changed as well, surprisingly she had been too occupied with Karan to notice anything else...but she was glad to notice that the guy sitting across from her was still Karan Singh Grover, and he was still the same guy...the one that winked at her and said...
"I love you Shilpa Anand."
