''I told you geet that i will be really busy and i won't have time for you. In fact, i will start touring the factories soon and i will not be homes for weeks. So, you are going to cry every time?'' he asked gently

''But you don't even reply to my phone calls''.

My mobile is on silence these days because i am very busy at office. If you have some urgent message, tell adi, he will contact me.''

''How will our relationship develop, if you don't have time and i know you will find a way if you really want but you don't want it. Please, tell me the real reason maan and if you can't then don't say anything. ''Geet said sadly.

Maan went to her and looked down at her. And then, he said,'' You lied to me as well, didn't you?''

Geet looked puzzled.

''You said, you never went in the disco but you were there, in my arms.''

Geet jerked up, and tried to pass him to go to her room, her face was turning red.

Maan moved into her path, she stopped herself to prevent from banging into him. He turned and shut the room door and locked it and leaned against it.

She kept staring at floor.

''So, you can guess the reason why i am staying away from you.''

Geet didn't understand what he was saying, he remembered about that incident or he always knew it was her?

''Answer me geet''.

She remained silent. Maan continued. ''i would never have behaved that way with you geet if i knew it was you. I must apologize to you. Did i hurt you?''

Geet shakes her head in no.

''I am relieved to hear that. But the issue remains, the way i behaved with you, it could happen again if we are alone and you are not ready for it.''

What was he saying that because he is physically attracted to me, he is staying away? ''I don't understand maan, its not the first time we are alone and i trust you and i know you won't jump on me.''

Maan replied,'' i am not a saint and you are too important for me to take chance.''

''So...so'', her voice cracked, her face was as red as tomato, ''it's not that big deal if... if somethinghappens'' she quickly mumbled the last words but he heard.'' it is to me. Do you remember how i was when i was your age, i had only two aims, study and party. You loved to bust my plans in front of dad. I enjoyed that time fully. I had no responsibilities. I want you to have that care free time as well. This time will never come back. I am here and you are here and we will be married 2 years later but this time, it will never come back. I want you to be a child bit longer geet. Please, try to understand what i am trying to say.''

"And what if i say that i want this time with you, i don't to study or party?'' geet asked.

"Then do it for me, don't party but go out with your friends and enjoy. Don't become a topper but at least pass with good grades. I know, i am always asking things but then, you know i am bossy.'' he said last words with saucy grin.

She couldn't resist smiling back. A teasing maan was too much.

''So, you want us to be separate till you have done the bharamchari act.''

Maan laughed and said, 'yes, but i will text you, okay and i have to leave early tomorrow, so i need to catch some zz's. He unlocked the door and let her out. His smile remained fixed at his place until she closed her door. Then, the mask slipped. He went in and closed the door. He hopped, he handled the issue right.

*******7 month later********

They were all gathered at pooja's place for group study. Geet was studying really harder these past months to keep herself busy. Maan had taken the charge and now he was rarely seen home. He had merged his own private companies into Khaurana Empire as well. Darji one day had said that he will bring a new dimension to Khaurana group and it was true. The share value had already increased.

This is such a injustice, if your sadu wants you to study, why we have to study'' fari complained loudly.

"Because, you are my friend'' Geet replied.

'' yeah, but we have already revised two three times, that is enough''.

Geet looked up from copy and said, '' in maths practice makes all the difference.''

They looked at each other and then, Pooja said, '' why don't you tell us what you are preparing for? You have been consulting books beyond our level''.

Geet looked sheepishly at them, ''it's nothing''.

Iqra threw a cushion at her,'' spill the beans Geet''.

She looked at them, and then got up to get her bag from which she drew out a prospectus and gave it to them.

They looked at it and then, Fari said, ''you want to apply here.''

Geet nodded at her. ''So, what is the big deal?'' Iqra said.

''I want to get there on my own without any contacts on scholarship. There Math department is best in whole India and Mama got her Ph.D. from there.''

''But your grades for first year were not that good Geet, i know you will get A's in this year but past result count and there are only limited seats for scholarship and there will be toppers from all over India, you won't make it. Use your contacts to get self -finance seat.'' Fari advised.

''No, i want to do it this way, i want to try at least.''

Pooja asked, '' why the sudden interest?''

'' i thought if i am going to study anyway then why not make it worth it? I mean i am working so hard for maan, but why not do it for myself? Everyone in my family excels at what they do, Maan is at top in his field, Dev has entered the top medical college, so why not I and both got their positions through their own hard work. So, i want to be something as well.''

Fari, '' fine but don't expect me to do the same, i will be using my contacts.''

''but you are supposed to get married to Vicky two months later'' Geet said surprised.

''Who say, i can't study after marriage? And anyway, Vicky will be continuing his studies and so, i will do the same.''

Pooja checked the prospectus and said, ''i will be taking journalism''.

No one was surprised, Pooja's father was owner of a big media group and all siblings of Pooja had taken careers other than their father, so it only left Pooja.

Iqra,'' same here, i am not going to study these subjects any longer, is there anything about art in it?''

Pooja, '' yeah, you can check all the options.'' She threw the prospectus at her.

Fari,'' so when is the test for scholarship?''

Geet replied,'' next week. I just hope, they call me for an interview, i have done some charity work in past and i have my award in other extracurricular activities, i think those count as well.''

Iqra, '' my mother's cousin is head of physics department in university of *****, i will get you a letter of recommendation from him, just give me all the copies of all of your grades and certificated.''

Pooja,'' you will be needing two letters, how about asking our math teacher, i mean he was shocked when you got 99% in mid-term, no student in past has that honour. ''

Geet, '' it won't hurt to ask. Anyway, don't call or text me, this week, i will be studying really harder and don't want any disturbance.''

Fari cheekily said, '' she has even start ordering like sadu, iqra note the differences.''

Geet grabbed the pillow and started beating her, iqra and Pooja joined the pillow fight.
