PART-6

Almost three months had passed and Riddhima's friends were getting edgy. Though, Muskaan was still in touch with Riddhima, she noticed that Riddhima always avoided any topic which would lead to Armaan. Everyone knew how caring and helpful Riddhima was. So in the beginning, when she sat with Armaan, they thought it was to help him get settled in the college. But, it had been three months and she hadn't even looked at them. They felt it was finally time to talk to her. So before anyone of them could gather enough courage to go to her, Vivek agreed to volunteer.

Vivek approached them the very same day in the library. Riddhima and Armaan both were sitting together and talking in whispers.

"Riddhima?" he called out.

She looked at him blankly, as if she had forgotten who he was and then she said, surprised, "hi Vivek! It has been some time since we last met!"

"Yeah, I know." He said, shifting his legs nervously. He was aware of Armaan's freezed form next to her. "I wanted to talk to you-alone" he added.

"Umm…right now?" she hesitated.

"Yeah…I've been postponing it from many days. I guess its time now."

"Oh okay, I'll be there" she said looking at Armaan, as if asking his permission, which irked Vivek even more.

Armaan nodded and she stood up. Vivek and Riddhima went to a little corner of the library.

"So? What did you want to talk about?"

"Ridz, what has happened to you?"

"What are talking about?" she asked, completely confused and slightly taken aback by his change of tone.

"Oh come on Ridz! I want to know why you are wasting all your precious time on Armaan?" he asked agitatedly.

She stiffened at his comment and answered haughtily, "It's none of your business Vivek. I can spend my time with whomever I want."

"Oh yes, of course you can. So just tell me one thing Riddhima, if you have officially given up your post of student council president. When was the last time you attended a meeting or helped anyone besides Armaan? Or heck when was the last time did you talk to anyone other than him?" he demanded and she was left dumbfounded by the sudden revelation.

As she thought about what Vivek said, she realised that she had been so lost with Armaan that she had literally forgotten that there was a world outside.

She really couldn't remember the last time she had spoken to any of her friends. She kept contact only with Muskaan-no scratch that-Muskaan kept contact with her.

At that moment, she experienced an epiphany which changed her outlook on her relationship-or whatever it was-with Armaan. She realized that she did not feel deprived of anyone or anything. She was perfectly content in the company of Armaan. But was it really normal? Can somebody's presence divest your attention so much so that you forget there is another world outside? Was it healthy-not only for her-but also for their relationship?

As she was immersed in these nerve wrecking thoughts, Vivek's impatient sigh forced her out of her stupor. She realized she would have plenty of time to dwell on it later. Right now she had to dissuade Vivek to avoid any such kind of confrontations.

"I realise what you are saying and I truly appreciate it. But I just want to clear that it will always be my choice who I want to spend my time with. Maybe cutting off from everyone wasn't exactly correct but Armaan had needed someone. And aside from that fact, I love spending time with him."

"of course you like spending your time with him." he continued in a softer voice, "I've known you for a long time Ridz and I know you have a soft corner for those who need help. And do you know what; we all have noticed changes in Armaan…and its all because of you. You have done your part Ridz. But now you need to resume your life back." He insisted.

Riddhima again fell in a stupor. But now all she could feel was the ghost of empty feeling with just the thought of a life without Armaan. It felt strange that when she looked back through the haze of these 3 months, she couldn't fathom how she had lived without Armaan. How had she survived without looking into his blue orbs? How had she felt any satisfaction without seeing his smile which wrinkled his scarred face into uneven lines? How was she able to breath without knowing if he would be there the next day to hear her blabber?

So as she looked back at Vivek all she could manage to whisper was "I'm sorry. I can't get back." and leave the library.

Part to short tha but i really love the what Ridz said " I 'M sorry, I can't get back" Hope Arman kuch wrong step na lele.. I mean tell Ridz not to meet him or talk to him... I am sure woh esa hi karega 😒..
