Part 7.

The drive home was long and in silence. Geet could not believe what had happened to her. She glanced twice at the kangan she was wearing. She didn't know what to do. Thinking about her life and her uncertain future she fell asleep. As soon as Maan pulled up outside Khurana Mansion he turned towards Geet to tell her that they had arrived home but saw her asleep. He realised that she must be tired and worn out and after whatever must have happened today she must be in shock. Maan thought to himself he needed to find out what happened today. He lifted Geet out of the car and took her to her room. He put the blanket over her but before he did he noticed blue bruises on her arm and wrist. He was worried and he saw kangan on her hands and he wondered where did they come from as he never saw her wear anything on her hands except her silver charm bracelet. He knew Geet did not like dressing up. He further noticed that the kangan are a size small for her. He was starting to piece things together as what had happened to her but he still needed Geet to confirm the story. He gave her a kiss on her forehead and was about to move away when Geet held his hand and said 'aap please mujhe chor kar mat jana. Mujhe aap ki zarrorat hai mujhe aap se door bohot daar lagta hai'. Maan smiled at her looking at her insecurity and fear and said to her

'Tum chinta mat karo Geet main tumhare saath hi hoon kahi nahi javonga'. He didn't know why but every beat in his heart was told him to stay with her whereas his mind was telling him to leave. He was now beginning to get affected by this girl. He sat on her left side and fell asleep. Meanwhile Dadi walked past Geet's room and saw this wonderful scene and thought kaise acche lagrahi hai dono kisi ki nazar na lagey'.

Geet awoke later and realised that Maan was still next to her and she was holding her hand. She was happy to see him by her side. She did not understand why she was happy. Her heart beat started to increase and she felt a sensation in her body. Am I falling in love with this dusht danav? She asked herself. He had always saved her from every trouble and even now he is there for her. She did not understand herself but when he is not around she feels scared and when he is near she feels peace and happy. Hai rabba main maan sir she pyar karne lagi ho. Main yeh kaise karsakti ho. Geet tried to piece together what just happened. She realised that Maan must have carried her up to her bedroom and she must have gripped his hand tight. Geet nahi tumhari dil main jo bi ehsaas hai maan ki liye nikal de. Par main kaise karsakti ho.woh har pal mere saath hote hai who hamesha mera kayal raktey hai. Kya karo main babaji maadat karo' Her chain of thoughts were broken when Maan stirred awake. She looked at him and smiled. But before he turned to face her she quickly wiped the smile of her face and turned the other way.

'Wo sorry tumne mera haath pakra hua ta aur needh main kaha ta keh main tumhe chor kar na jao' Said Maan clarifying himself

'Sir koi baat nahi. Sab se zyaada vishwas main app par karti ho. Aapko safai dene ki koi zarrorat nahi hai' Geet said and both looked at eachother and were in a eyelock.

The words Geet said had arisen a new feeling in Maan. He thought how could this girl trust me the most she has only known me for a few weeks and has already told me her life story. Why have I decided to help her. Is it because its my duty or is there another reason. Maan came out of his thoughts when he saw Geet struggling to take the Kangan's off her wrist.

'Yeh stupid kangan nahi nikar rahi hai' Geet said in tears .

'Phir tumne pehne kyun. Deko tumhara hath peh kitna zakam hai' Maan said looking at her hands full of bruises.

'Maine apne marzi se nahi pehne. Who ausni zabarzasti pehnaya ta.. said Geet looking up at Maan.

Geet then told Maan the whole story about the phonecall in the middle of the night and what happened in the lift.

'HE kissed me. Mujhe laga ki woh mere saath rape'.' And Geet started crying. Maan put his hand on her shoulder shocked at someone could be this brutal with Geet and that from a man who says he loves her. Geet then turned to Maan and hugged him. Maan had anger in his eyes that someone had hurt his Geet so violently.

'Geet kya ausni tumhe?; asked Maan but he did not know how to finish the sentence.

'Nahi par ausne kaha ki wo mujhe shaadi karna chata hai aur pata nahi kya hoga ab' Geet said worrying at her cursed future.

Maan told Geet not to worry. He called the jewellers and asked them to remove the Kangan off Geet's hands. Geet put the kangan on the dresser. Maan then went somewhere. Geet was getting scared as no one else was in the house. She looked for Maan but could not find him anywhere. She ran outside it was now dark and bashed into a hard solid chest. She was about to fall backwards but An arm pulled her back towards the chest.

'Geet tum kaha jara hi ti aur wo bi itni raat ko' asked a familiar voice.

'wo main app ko doodh rahi ti. App yun achanak chale gaye ti mujhe chor kar to mujhe daar laga aap please mujhe yun akela mat choro' Geet said.

'Miss Geet Handa tumhe to kaha ta ki tum apna khud kaayal raksakti ho aur tumhe akele rehne ki aadat hai' said Maan with a smirk on his face.

'ji wo wo main' owww' Geet said whlist stepping back. She knelt down and touched her ankle.

'ab kya hua miss nautanki?' asked Maan.

'who mere ankle mujhe lagta hai moch agayi' said Geet. Without thinking twice Maan picked her up and took her to her room. This was becoming a daily habbit for him. Geet loved the feeling of being in his arms safe and at peace. She wanted to be in this position forever but Geet knew that one sided love did not go anywhere. If she had to fall in love why was it with this kadoos she thought. Maan rested her on her bed. He then put cream on her hand where it was bruised and massaged her ankle. He then let her go and wished her Goodnight and proceeded towards his own room. Geet wanted him to stay and wanted to feel his presence but she knew it would be stupid to ask him and he would probably call her scared and mad. Maan also wanted to stay he wanted to be near her. All he could think about was her smile and her tears.

'Thanks Maan and Goodnight' she said sweetly. Maan turned and smiled at her before he left the room. It was the first time she called him Maan. HE felt elated. No one besides his dadi had called him Maan. Maan went to bed and went to sleep.

Geet had the same dream again that night. A rose garden herself in a anarkali suit birds singing and herself running towards a man and this time she saw the man. It was Maan.
