Part 10

One day Prem and Simon planned to go for a movie and Prem tried his best to convince Heer to accompany them but all his efforts went in vain because as usual Heer had accounts to maintain for the shop. Simon was really happy they will have all the evening to themselves in which she has planned to seduce Prem and become pregnant so that she will have a permanent place in business tycoon's home. All was set according to her and they were about to leave for the movie when they saw Heer leaving her room all ready to go somewhere and in a great hurry. Prem 'Heer where are you going? Earlier you said you can't go with us because you have some work to do.'

Heer 'yes Prem said so but right I got a call from the insurance people they want me to be there at the apartment because they want to discuss something with me. So I have to leave. You carry on its nothing I can't handle.'

She was about to leave when Prem intervened again 'no Heer you are not going alone. I am coming with you right at this moment.'

Heer 'Prem as I said earlier there is nothing I can't handle. Don't cancel your program for me. Go ahead and enjoy your evening.'

Prem 'Heer you are not going anywhere without me. And that's final. We can reschedule our program for the movie. Right Simon?'

He didn't wait for to see what was Simon's reaction who was glaring at Heer as if she would burn her alive right there at the moment only.

Prem tucked a protesting Heer and a much not too happy Simon in his car and drove off for Heer's apartment. There they met the insurance people who till now have started with their work for the apartment and were able to renovate one bedroom and kitchen which was very much to Heer's delight the perfect solution to the dilemma she was facing .She didn't want to live with Prem in his house anymore because she somehow felt responsible for Simon's displeasure. So she grabbed the opportunity with both hands and said 'Prem I am thinking of shifting back here in a day or two.'

When Prem was about to say something she proceeded and said 'its better for me to shift here because this way I will, be able to watch over the proceedings of the work and can tell them how I want a few things renovated according to my need.'

Hearing this Prem gave all sorts of arguments that for that she doesn't have to live here….she can always come here in daytime and watch over in daytime which was turned down by Heer by stating the fact that she has a job to maintain in daytime so she can't be here during daytime and beside her apartment was very near to her shop so she can always escape from there for a few mins and watch over them. When Prem got angry he said 'to damn with that job of yours….you can join my company and you can come here anytime you want.You won't be answerable to anyone as I am the boss.'

Heer 'Prem you know I don't like taking favors so even if u will pay me I will get a job because of our friendship not because of my abilities. So please try to understand me.

When Prem was about to argue again Simon interrupted quickly 'Prem she is right. Any self independent girl will never take favors from anyone. I think u should let her move back to her important.'

Though Heer know that Simon said all that to get rid of her for once she was great to the Barbie doll for her pretences. Gradually Prem gave in reluctantly and it was decided that Heer will shift back tomorrow first thing in morning.

Together they first went to drop off Simon to her place and Prem and Heer went for an ice cream. They each got a cone and went along sea shore to enjoy it. While they were roaming around eating ice cream Heer smiled suddenly. When Prem asked her why was she smiling she said 'Prem remember that incident when you and Tanya forcibly made me eat ice cream.'

Prem 'ah! yes I remember. I found it really weird that in today's world I would meet a person who didn't like to eat ice cream. I suppose u haven't tasted anything worth eating. It was so much fun. I still remember when you refused to taste the ice cream so me and Tanya forced you down on bed and she was top of you holding your hands while I was busy squeezing spoons and spoons of ice cream in your mouth. And after that I still remember you grin as if a cat had just licked a pot of cream. You were some damn funny I couldn't resist clicking a picture of you.'

Heer 'yes and I will kill you for that. You and Tanya both had the nerve to get it enlarged and frame it.'

Together they burst out laughing.

So they returned to the house and Heer got busy packing her stuff. Prem came after getting freshen up to help her out. He insisted helping her with stuffing her suitcases. In the end Heer was fed up because Prem instead of helping her out was making her fret about ironing the clothes. Because the way he was stuffing the things they all needed to be ironed before putting them on. So she just pushed him out of the room forcibly.

Next day at evening when Heer was at her apartment getting settled in Prem came to help her out dragging behind a very reluctant Simon. When Heer protested that she doesn't need help in order to just avoid spending any time with Simon Prem didn't hear her. So they all together set to work and in end were irritated to hell because of tantrums thrown by Simon saying 'ekks its so dirty…….its so smelly….its so heavy…..its so hot……my nails will be broken because of the work '. They decided to call a brake on things now and everyone was hungry so Prem ordered chinese from a known restaurant to be picked up. When Heer and Simon were alone. Simon said 'Heer why don't you leave me and Prem alone. Why is it that everything in Prem's life revolve around you. You his friend just friend. Don't try to take my place in his life. You have the looks to be anyone's girlfriend. Just back off and leave us alone. Don't try your moves on him he is mine and he is going to marry do you get that. He hasn't proposed to me but I heard him talking on the phone about a ring so that's quite obvious that he is going to marry me.'

Heer 'Simon first of all I don't what gave you idea that I want to be Prem's girlfriend because I think I will prefer to be his friend only and that's the most respectable place in his life I would like to have. And many congratulations to you if you think Prem is thinking of proposing you. I wish you both a happy life together. '

When she finished she was fuming with anger that bubble could burst any moment if Simon will speak a word further. But at that moment Prem returned with food and even he could feel the sparks. But before he could understand a thing Heer quickly adorned the mask of always a friend and pasted a artificial smile .

Heer 'ah! Good you here again. Let me get the plates otherwise the food will be cold and I don't have any microwave to heat it again. She quickly buried herself in the task of setting the table.

While eating food Prem noticed that Heer was just pushing around food on her plate. Prem 'Heer why are you not eating? Sometime ago you were saying were so hungry as to you can eat a whole truck of food. What happened any problem?'

Heer 'no Prem its not that its just that I am very tired now. So much I can't eat a single morsel.'

Prem 'Heer you did a lot today. First you went to shop and after that you are working continuously here you call it a evening.We will come back tomorrow and complete the rest of work.'

Heer 'um Prem you don't need to come tomorrow. I have a free day tomorrow and Julia is coming over to help me with the rest of work. So by the time you will come in evening everything will be done and after that Julia and me have planned a girls night out at her apartment.'

Prem 'ok Heer you enjoy your evening and I will meet day after tomorrow.'

With that they finished up their food and left Heer alone and for which she was really grateful. For next few days Heer tried her best to avoid Prem as much as possible. On evening whenever Prem used to stop by her apartment either she used to switch off all the lights or used to be dressed to go up Julia to just avoid Prem. During shop time if Prem used to come to visit her she used to duck in store room and telling Julia to tell Prem that she is out with the owner to help her out.

Prem was fed up playing games with Heer and he was determined to find out what was wrong with Heer. But not tonight because he was suppose to make a appearance at one of the charity occasions with a friends sister who once helped him in times of need. He could not back out from his word.

So when he reached there he was stunned to see Heer there with a person whom he recognized one of Preet's cousin Nitin – well known for his playboy reputation. They were in dance floor and were in mid of a slow dance. Seeing Heer in a tight fitting gown hugging all her curves and very much to display to his displeasure. His hand tightened involuntarily against his companions hand. When she winced in pain only then he realized he was clutching her hand in a very deadly grip. He relaxed his hold on her and proceed to their table. He couldn't forget Heer in that vine red figure hugging gown. Her long black hair curled up and her flawless skin shinning up as if she has just bathed in sunlight.

When they were seated involuntarily his gaze went back to Heer. Heer was dancing with Nitin and somehow Nitin's hands were going way beyond their limits towards her bottom and he could see that Heer was uncomfortable. That was the last stretch to his patience and without giving any thoughts he strode towards them and tapped on Nitin's shoulder.

Prem 'mate do you mind if I cut in. I can't resist dancing with this beautiful woman here.'

As Heer left Nitin's arms who was frightened with Prem's menace look and went to Prem she felt safe for the first time in the evening. Prem could feel Heer relax against him and was happy within to give her this. But when he saw she was about to say something he quickly said 'not here Heer. I am not in enough control so I may something I might regret at this time. We will talk when we get back. And listen to me very carefully and I am saying this once for all and I won't repeat it – you are not going to spend a single moment of the rest of the evening in that man's company or I will resort to my caveman behavior and if I have to toss you on my shoulder and carry you out I will do that. So get that right you are not leaving my side for a single moment otherwise you will come face to face with the beast within me.'

Heer 'Prem please listen to me. Even I am not happy with Nitin but you and I have come here separately with different partners. I can't be with you all the time.'

Prem 'Heer to hell with our partners. I am not concerned about them and neither should you. Right now just do what I say otherwise it won't be good for you. I hope you don't want to our pictures me carrying you out like a caveman. And by the way the partners we are talking about are no longer our problem. Your partner Nitin has been escorted out by two security guards because he was so badly drunk he couldn't possibly stand and whereas my partner is concerned I think she has got herself a new partner. So our problem solved.'
