Next day was Sunday ,Sanjeev and his family arrived and were staying at sid's parents''later in the day SR were called in 4 an emergency check up on the baby'Sid finally made his decision to go ahead with the surgery to save the child's life.On Monday morning Sanjeev arrived at hospital, he examined the baby and later when they were heading 4 a small break before surgery Sid introduced Sanjee to both rids and tam. He introduce sanjeev as a childhood friend

Sanjeev: in logon ke barie mie bus suna thaa leking ajjj dekh bhi kya

Rids in her mind : sid mere bare mai bhi bath kartha hai ( she was happy but at the same time a little bit concerned that he might be describing heself as bad memory to people close to him.It was time for surgery so they all head into the changing room and get changed.Sid gets himself changed,rids was putting on her gown when the nurse assisting her left,rids looked around for help and there was no one else around apart from sid who was busy reading some notes that he had earlier prepared, sid senses her looking around uncomfortabely, he raises his gaze and soon realises that she was abandant, he goes around to help her'

Sid: umm who..do u want me to tie it 4 u

Rid: (all shy )

Rids still stands there mesmerising that moment..The surgery was too long and it tested the expertise of both the surgeons ( sid and sanjeev).Rids who was studying sid, was purely impressed by his skills ' this man is undoubtly a wonderful surgeon'- she thinks'

It was 6pm and they had finally finished everything and had transeferd the child back into the ICU for further observation.However, the overall feed back was quite positive and the child's body was responding well'Sid then bids good bye to Sanjeev and then heads back into his cabin''its been a long day and I am nacked, however I am glad that I was able to help the baby to survive..he has small smile across his face'I have another hour and then we could call it a day..An hour later sid is packing up 2 leave, when he thinks he should thank rids as she was also assisting him the surgery and also the overall outcome was good so she deserves a word of appreciation.Come on yarr voh teri collegue hai aur usna aj acha kam kiya bus usse well done keh de, essa karne mie tera kya jatha hai'he takes his mobile to call but then slids it back ..he walking through the corridors towards the lift.. He is quite absorbed in his thoughts, he steps into the lift and then sense someone around he lifts his head and sees Ridhima,..Rids smiles but sid doesn't return the smile he instead he looks away .. sid in his mind'yeh mai kya kar reha huu..apne app ko bada proffestional samjatha hu but fir be abhi thake rids ko thanks bhi nahi kaha kyon ki mie usse nafrat karta hu. '

Sid clears his throats: thanks Dr ridhima for ur support in today's surgery .( in a very cold voice)

Rids: she smiles..not a problem, Its my duty..

As soon as she finishes the electrics in the lift goes off and the lift comes to hault..its completely dark inside..Ridhimma runs and hugs sid ..Sid is surprise but on second thought he recollects the fact that she is afraid of dark..He slowly extends his hands around her back..his touch was doing something to her..Sid could feel her heart beating against his heart'

R: (sorry in a low voice )

S:hmm its k ridhima, main janta hu ki tumhe andhere se dar lagtha hai '

Lagta hai yaha ki electricity chali gayi hai ..don't wari voh jaldh he generators start kar dhenge and it will be fine..

Few minutes later lights comeback however, the lift is not still working, it was like they were trapped there..Sid notices an emergency call button on the lift and presses it..he gets through to maintance and requests them to send someone down to get them'There is an uncomfortable silence in the lift and both sid and rids are reluctant on speaking to each other because of what has happened earlier on..

They hear someone trying to open the lift and they do succed in ..however, the lift is stuck in between two floors so they cannot get out straight away.Rids can only get out if sid offers to lift her in his arms..both are aware of the situation but don't don't say anything except for exchanging glances.

Meanwhile the maintance man gives a shout to sid

Man: are! Sir madam ki madath karna, zara unhe lift karna

Sid: (has confused expression) ..kya ?:s

Man: are sahab app tho lambhe ho ape nikal javoge lekin madame andhar he reh jayengi kyonki voh yaha thak pahunch nahi pageni'

Sid ( hesitantly ): um' thikh hai

Rids comes and stands infront of him.He slowly spreads his hands around her waist, she covers his hand with hers ..they both look at each other bringing back memories..Rids could feel his breath on her cheeks, which was turning red..

Sid quickly helps her up and then makes his own way up..They both walk down the corrriodor together avoiding each others gazes..sid quickle turns to the cafeteria and pretends to look at the sandwitch rack, as if he was going to pick his sandwitch , seeing this rids quickly walks off'sid turns around and breathes a sigh of relief , when sees her gone..In the eveing after dinner they both are in their respective bedroom reviewing the events that happened earlier in the day..

Next day is another busy day and they see less of each other they both are thankful for these distances yet they do miss each other.Neaxt day morning , they have a surgery scheduled for 11: 00am .The surgery was headed by sid and assisted by rids and other docs..After the surgery ends, sid was on his way out of OT when his eyes catches rids..

..thinner,lines of strain around her eyes,her black hair which is still long, scraped up in a ponytail,She was wearing theatre bules,baggy,soft cotton pyjama , that should have done nothing but she looked stunning.He closed his eyes again just briefly( flashbacks but araman's face pops up ) and when he opened them she was looking at him.With frustration he stepped back and snapped off his gloves and he left the room, throwing them and the gown and mask into the bin and heading for the coffeee machine.He could still see her acrosss the corridor.She moves to the patiesnt's bed and was just swabbing the patient down,she didn't need him anymore.He srubbed his hand through his hair and sighed again.She never had needed him.He just had been a mere cover for her, some kind of use and throw protection.its been hardly 3 weeks, for goodness sake!hardly anything,really,except for the past few days have changed the carefully orchestrated course of his life.

It was pretty obvious to ridhima that he wanted to forget her , to move on and leave the past behind, where it belonged..rids 'fine if that's what he wanted but she couldn't forget , the feel of his skin, the touch of his hands nothin matters

Sid on the other hand bought a coffee from the coffee machine, with a growl of frustration he smacked the coffee cup down on the worktop,splashing his hand.He stared at it , watching the dark liquid dribble over his skin and catch on the fine hairs across the back of his knuckles.Would I never stop wanting her? Never stop remembering about her ?

He heard her voice as she came out of the OT talking to a nurse'

Kyon mai yeh sab soch ke apna dimag karab kar reha hu, voh kush hai voh sir mera dil thodna janthi hai ..he chucked the rest of the coffee and headed to the changing room inorder to change and then went for his break .He had his lunch in a quite corner of the cafeteria..On the other hand some rids was in the staff room, she is getting ready to go and pick simran from school and drop her off at anjalie's.Rids drives to the school sees simran and rahul sitting together in the fields.She walks to them .Ridhima has been lately spending quality time withthese kids because of which rahul is getting closer to her.

Simi: dekho ridhima aunty aa gai

Rahul lifts his eyes and lowers them he is still upset and low

Rids: hello bacho

Simi: hello

Rahul doesn't respond

Simi: Ridhima aunty yeh dekho na rahul is upset today

Rids: acha kya hua rahul ko

Rahul : kuch nahi and walks away from them

Rids in her mind apne papa ki tarah hai, jab bhi dukhi hota hai kuch nahi hai bolke chala jatha hai

Simi: ridhima aunty rahul ke muma ki death anivesary pass a rehi hai

Rids is shocked to hear that iska matlab sid ki wife mar chuki hai aur iss liye he maine sid ko kabhi bhi unke sath nahi dekha hai,Sid ne bhi zindagi mie kitne dard jele hai

rids walks to rahul and calls his name

Rids: Rahul!

Rahul turns around and hugs rids tightly, she too hugs him and consoles him.

Later they all leave together and rids drops rahul at home

( btw guies in my ff its assumed that sid's mother has never met Ridhima )

On the way back rids is feels a tingle of joy to find out that sid is still single and she suddenly starts bulding hope fore their old relationship.However rids is drumstruck when she realises that sid is still hurt from the past and hasn't forgotten anything at all.She has a mixture of thoughts.

Rids soon returns to the hospital she is in the staff room where some nurses were gossiping, they started talking about Sid and how him and Tam would have lunch together almost everyday

One nurse : kya yeh log ek doosre ko chahte hai

Another nurse: maine tho suna hai ki Dr modi shadhi shudha hai aur una ek bacha bhi hai

1^st Nurse: ha lekin kya tumne notice kiya hai unke hath mai unka wedding ring nahi hai..thoo iska matlab jya hua ?

2^nd nurse : hayyeee voh! Cute doctor jisko bhi mile voh lucky hai'chahe voh Dr tam he kyo na hoo, she will be lucky

Rids who was listening to this gossip started thinking, she was indeed jelous..'sid is a widower and tam a widow, sid-tam even shares a relationship from the past so there could easily be a relationship sprouting but ..she soon comes out of her thoughts.Sid now was walking back through the corridors to his cabin after his luch, he walks past the staff room, asoon as he gets out rids walks out and is walking behind him, she has an urgent file to grab from him soo soon catches up..

Rids: excusse me Dr Modi muje voh apse Rohit ki file leni thii

Sid: voh haa..voo mere cabin mai hai chalo mere sath aoo main tumhe voh deta huu'

Neeta there 'He is shocked

Neeta: ha mai..kyon jadka lega na..

Neeta: acha bathau muje kitna miss kiya baby..( neeta sees rids behind him and then address her ).. hi tum sid ki collegue hongi..I am sure Sid ne tumhe mere bare mie nahi betaya hoga mai Neeta Sid ki ** shylly**

Sid interrupts and addresses Rids..Rids has a hurt expression on her face

Sid: Dr ridhima ape abhi jayiye mai file bhijwa dunga'

Rids walks away.

Sid pushes Neeta into the cabin and shuts the door behind

Sid: tumhara dimag tho karab nahi hai jo tum mere peeche yaha aa gayi

Neeta: ( she comes closer and start playing with his top button )well muje laga ki Dr Sidhant Modi muje miss kar rehe thee

Sid: ( sid moves away )'mai tumhe miss kyun karunga

Neeta: kyonki tum mujse pyar karte ho..

Sid: dekho mai tumse hazar bar keh chukka hu aur aj fir se keh reha hu ki mai tumse pyar nahi kartha

Neeta: deko Mr modi tum shayad mujse pyar na karte ho but tum muje tumhe pyar karne se rokh nahi sakthe

Sid: listen Neeta muje legtha hai ki tumhne next flight se London laut jana chaiye and forget about this whole business of love..

Neeta : listen Dr sidhant modi , mai tumse pyar karti hum aur hamesha karti rehungi'stop me if u can..also btw mai London nahi ja rehi huu..maine bhi yah ape 2 weeks ke liye volunteering arrange karwa liya hai voh bhi tumhare hospital mai'

Sid: kya ????( it was like a bombshell to sid )
