Part # 4

Its Holi'..so Rudhir and Alpana are at Shimla'..they hav reached the day before the Holi'..and will leave the day after that!!

In the morning'..Rudhir is standing near the bed'.and smiling to himself'..becoz he is holding a plate of colours'.and Alpana is still sleeping'..much to his pleasure!! He slowly kneels down'..and makes a red circle on her cheek bones'.while he colours her nose wid blue'.And now he takes sum colour to circle her chin'..but as soon as he takes his hand nearer'.his eyes fall on her lips'.which were adorned wid a beautiful content smile!! He was happy to knw she was happy''he may not knw why'..but each tym he saw her smile'.he felt happy'..coz it gave him the assurance that she was happy'.WITH HIM!!

However'.he feels this sudden urge to touch her lips'..and he takes his fingers quite near'..but just then he notices the colour on his hands'.and he shakes his head wid a chuckle'.thinking wat he was going to do!! And so'.now he actually colours her chin'.and standing up at the end''he bears a content smile on his face'.as now his Alpu resembles a clown!!

"U look cute Alpu'.." (and he still has that smile on his face)

After a while''Alpana wakes up to find Rudhir asleep beside her'..she just smiles at him'..as she always liked his sleeping self'.and then she goes to the washroom'..but after a few seconds'..she gets back screaming his name'..while he was already up and was having a laughter attack!!

She just picked up the pillow lying nearby'.and threw at his direction'.but he ducked and got up from the bed'..and now he starts running while she chases him in the room'..

Rudhir: Bura na maano'.Holi Hai Alpana''

Alpana: To iska ye matlab to nahi na tum mujhe Joker bana doge'..kitni stupid lag rahi hu main'.

Rudhir: Kisne kaha Jokers stupid hote hai?? Wo bhi kaafi smart ho sakte hai samjhi??

Alpana: (stops chasing him) U mean main smart hu? (she asks wid a raised eye-brow)

Rudhir: Not really'.after all jokers ka smart hona ek exceptional baat hai'.aur tum to ek normal si ladki ho'.tumme itni khaas baat kaise ho sakti hai? (and he chuckles but she frowns at that)

Alpana: Ohh'to main joker hu'.par smart bhi nahi hu'.aur naa hi khaas hu'.hai na? (she says making a face)

Rudhir: Arre'.tum to ek baat bhul hi gayi'.tumhari ek screw na'.dhili hai'.in fact I think its missing'.isiliye to tum kabse khadi ho kar mujhse agree kiye jaa rahi ho'.instead of defending urself'.(and he laughs out)

Alpana: (throwing the pillow towards him that she was holding till now) Shut up''aaj main tumhe nahi chhorungi'.

Rudhir: (catching the pillow) Tum aaj ki baat kar rahi ho'..main to zindagi bhar nahi chhorunga tumhe''(and suddenly both realize wat he said'..so they both look away'.but after a while Rudhir speaks up to lighten the heavy atmosphere) Anyways'..agar tumhe itna hi bura laga to tumne abhi tak dhoya kyun nahi?? Huh'.(and he walks away wid attitude while she stares at him blankly)

Alpana: Keh to aise raha tha jaise yu clown bana kar ehsaan kiya ho mujhpe'..huh!! Idiot'.ghamandi kahin ka'.

Now she goes to the washroom to wash her face'.but as she sees herself in the mirror again ''she remembers his laughter'..the chasing session a lil while back'.and she cant help smiling'..and she doesn't even realize when the colour rises on her cheeks'..as it was already red becoz of the 'gulaal'.

Later on'..at night'.

Mom: Rudhir'..hum na soch rahe the'.

Rudhir: (thinking) Gosh'.pata nahi kya soch rahe the ye dono'.jab bhi Mom aise sentence shuru karti hai'.mujhe darr lagta hai'..(and he looks towards Alpana and she seemed to realize the meaning of his look'..she just shrugs her shoulder and indicates him to listen at first)

Mom: Wo actually'..hum ne pehle dhyan hi nahi diya tha'.tum aur Alpana honeymoon pe nahi gaye'.

At this Alpana's eyes almost popped out'..while Rudhir looked towards them'..wid the most 'not really interested' look'.ever possible!!

Rudhir: Now wat do u both exactly want?? Don't say u want us to go for a 'honeymoon' after months of our marriage!!

Dad: Isme burayi kya hai'.uss waqt sab bahut jaldi jaldi hua to tum log jaa nahi paye'.to abhi ghum aao'..abhi pressure thoda kam hai na?? Aur phir tumhe kisne kaha shaadi ke exact baad hi log honeymoon pe jaa sakte hai'.not later on'.

Mom: Bilkul sahi'.aur phir baat to sirf apne usual mahaul se bahar jaa kar thoda tym ek dusre ke saath spend karne ka hai'.

Rudhir: Really? If that's the point to hum dono shaadi ke baad se honeymoon hi to mana rahe hai''kyunki hum tab se ek dusre ke saath akele tym spend kiye jaa rahe hai'.and of course'kisi ke ane se mahaul apne aap badal hi jata hai'.

Hearing him'.Alpana's ears shot up'..and she turns towards him in disbelief''He was saying'.just abt anything!! And she doesn't knw why'.she cud feel her ears getting warm!! She wanted to stop him'.and her hard glares cud do that well'.but the problem was he wasn't even looking towards her'.being extremely busy in arguing wid his parents!! And finally'..he seemed to be triumphant as he avoided the 'honeymoon'!! She doesn't really knw wat all he said'.coz 'sum of his words' were still ringing in her mind'..but all she cared abt was'.HE was desperate to avoid the matter!!

Here Rudhir was arguing'.wid a point which even he wasn't sure abt'..Even he doesn't knw wat he was trying to say'.but he knew he needed to cancel this idea from his parents' mind'..because he had seen 'her' shocked expression at the mention of 'honeymoon''..Though they had been living together for so long'..and they were alone as well'.but sumhow the word 'honeymoon' itself created sum nervousness in her'..it itself felt awkward'.and he didn't want her to be awkward at all'.So he kept on arguing'.giving sum false excuses'.and baseless points'.just to get her rid of that 'awkwardness''.

And as he did that'..his parents were gone'.and he also got up. He was looking straight'.and managing a slight smile'.he left for the room'.without even giving her a look!! Donno why'.he cudnt stand that 'awkward' look in her eyes'..he didn't like that 'discomfort''..that she supposedly felt FOR HIM!!!

Here Alpana stares at the way he leaves'..and she doesn't feel gud to see his Desperation'..

Why was he so eager??? I mean how does it even matter?? Samajhta kya hai apne aap ko?? Aur phir pata nahi kya kya bak raha tha'.Mom-Dad kya soch samajh rahe honge!!

Back in Delhi'.

Alpana: May I knw'.tum waha Mom Dad ke samne kya bak rahe the??

Rudhir: Main kya bak raha tha?? I mean'main bak nahi raha tha ok?

Alpana: Tum simply bhi honeymoon wali baat ko taal sakte the na'.but no u went on saying'.god knws wat!!

Rudhir: Excuse me'.main apne parents ko tumse behtar janta hu'.I knw there was no other way!! (he says wid a certain irritation) "Ek to Mom-Dad ko sambhala'.upar se credit pane ki jagah baatein sunna padh raha hai"

Alpana: Oh really? (she says wid same kinda irritation) "Why is he so irritated?? Wat does he want to show?? I am irritating or wat??"

The convo doesn't get any further'.both were sensible enough to draw the conclusion here only'.they didn't want to argue wid each other'.But both were extremely upset'.over wat'.is still unknown to themselves. And that's becoz'.they were still not sensible enough to realize that they were hurt thinking the other didn't CARE!!

Why are u effecting me Alpana?? It was not supposed to be like this'.its not going as per we had thought'.Why do I keep doing things for u?? Why?? U cant effect me like this Alpu'.U cant!!!

One day'.Rudhir cums home from office''and looks for Alpana in the bedroom/ living room'.as she was always there during this tym'.but then to his utter surprise'.he finds her in the kitchen!!

Rudhir: Wat are u doing?? Or rather trying to do?

Alpana: Pudding!! (and he looks on being confused) Main pudding banane ki koshish kar rahi hu'.I love having it'..aur Mom (Rudhir's mom) se recipe bhi sikhi hai maine'.so I am trying my hand'

Rudhir: (raises an eye-brow) Tumse nahi hoga'rehne do!! Bekaar me kuch bhi bana dogi'.

Alpana: How mean!! Main yaha kuch karne ki koshish kar rahi hu'..mujhe encourage karne ki jagah tum mujhe discourage kar rahe ho?? U r toooo bad!! Aur ye kya sirf mere liye hai?? Tumhe bhi to Pudding pasand hai na'.to agar achha ban gaya to tumhe bhi milega na? Then why don't u help me?

Rudhir: Tumhe kaise pata mujhe bhi Pudding pasand hai? Mom ne bataya?

Alpana: Aur nahi to kya mujhe sapna ayega?? Common sense use nahi kar sakte?

Rudhir: To wohi to kiya na!! Anyways'.mujhe pudding banana nahi ata'.mujhe bas khana ata hai'.to ye jab ban jaye'.tab mujhe bula lena'.I'll taste it and tell you how its made'.

Alpana: Huh'bade aye taste karne wale'.ek tinka bhi nahi dungi'.niklo yaha se!! Madat nahi karoge'.but taste karoge''huh'.chalo niklo!! (and she gets him out of the kitchen)

Rudhir: Arre kitni hostile biwi hai meri'.

Now Rudhir is sitting in the living room'.in front of the TV'.but his "mind" was in the kitchen only'.so he keeps turning bak tym and again'.and watches his Alpu'preparing the mixture and all'..All the while he has this cute smile on his face.

After a while Alpana brings the pudding in front of him'..wid a look that says'. "Its for me ONLY"'..At this Rudhir makes a face'.and continues watching the TV'..as if he were doing that only!! But just then he hears a small shriek and turns towards her to see that she was sucking her finger'.

Rudhir: Kya hua??

Alpana: Garam hai'.

Rudhir: Wo to hoga hi'.tumhe kisne kaha tha abhi hath marne ko? Silly girl.

Alpana: Huh'.tum jaise bahut un-silly ho!!

Rudhir: (chuckles) Of course I am'..

Alpana: Arre haan'.tabhi to tum apni har presentation ke pehle 100 baar chakkar katte ho'hai na??

Rudhir: Ab wo baat yaha kaise fit hoti hai?

Alpana: Bas hoti hai'becoz it proves ur sillyness'

Rudhir: No that's just becoz I am always concerned abt giving my best'.and yeah'.main 100 baar chakkar to bilkul nahi lagata!! U shud improve ur mathematics'.

Alpana: And u shud improve ur tactics'.(and she hits his hand which was trying to reach the pudding)

Rudhir: Arre'tum sach me akeli akeli khaogi kya? Apne iss bhukhe pati ko nahi dogi??

Alpana: Absolutely'.main aisa hi karungi'(and she takes a piece on the spoon and puts it in her mouth'.while he narrows his eyes at her)

Rudhir: U r sooooo mean Alpu'.(and he leaves wid a huff while she laughts out seeing his expressions)

After a while'Alpana realizes he still hasn't cum out'.she was actually w8ing for him to do that as she knew he wudnt let go the pudding so easily'.it was his fav'and as his mom said he was always eager for that'..isnt this why she made it today??

However Alpana now goes inside the room wid the plate in her hand'.but he was not there'..so she checks the balcony to find him sitting on the ground!! She kneels down beside him and offers him a piece'.but he looks away!! At that moment Alpana cudnt stop the smile cuming to her face'.despite trying hard!! He was looking dam cute wid that pout!! But keeping aside those thoughts'.she again offers him the piece'.while he keeps rejecting'.

Rudhir: Yaha kyun ayi ho??

Alpana: Kyun? Yaha no entry hai kya?

Rudhir: Nahi'.lekin mujhe aise offer karke kya dikhana chahti ho'.tumhe pudding banana ata hai'..aur mujhe nahi ata?? (and he turns his face wid a childlike anger'..at this Alpana cant help laughing out) Ohh'to ab tum mujhpe hass rahi ho'..gr8!!

Alpana: Dhi (corrects herself)'.Rudhir!! (and now she forces the piece into his mouth'.but he was still not having it'.so his mouth was seeming like a balloon'..which was making him look all the more cute!!) Arre'.ab gale se utar bhi do'.(but he doesn't react) Are u expecting a sorry? (he looks away in other direction in such a way that says'..he wanted exactly that) Gosh'.tumhare jaise nakhre to bacche bhi nahi dikhate honge'.chalo Am sorry'.ab khao'.its for you Only!!

Rudhir: (gulps down the piece) Achha mere liye tha?? (and she smiles at that) In that case'nakhre kisne dikhaye?? Maine ya tumne? (now he takes the plate from her hands and starts eating) Hmm'achha bana hai!! Pehle nahi aa sakti thi kya? Kabse baitha tha yaha!!

Alpana: (raises an eye-brow) Tum yaha baithke mera intezaar kar rahe the?? U knew I wud cum?

Rudhir: Of course'.its common sense u see'(and he winks at her while she snatches way the plate from his hands) Arre ye kya??

Alpana: Wat ye kya?? Pura kha jaoge kya? Mujhe bhi khani hai na'

After a while they finish the pudding'together'.and then they keep sitting there on the floor'.supporting their backs on the wall behind!! They were staring at the moon shinning in the sky'.it was a full moon night'.and the moonlight was adorning the couple in the most beautiful way!! Their white attires were adding to the charm'.and they seemed to be a couple from Heaven!!

They keep sitting there silently for a while'.as the silence today felt soothing'.perhaps because of the company!!

Both were lost for sumtym'..and then suddenly Alpana chuckles'.perhaps thinking of sumthing!!

Rudhir: Wat happened?

Alpana: Nahi bas'.soch rahi thi'.tumhe maine aisi baccho jaisi shakal banate hue pehle kabhi dekha nahi tha''I never thought u cud act so cute!!

Rudhir: (raises an eye-brow at 'cute') Baat to aise kar rahi ho'.jaise janmo se janti ho mujhe'.still kuch naya discover kiya'.(and he chuckles)

Alpana: Yeah yeah'.I knw main tumhe janmo se nahi janti'..but I never portrayed u like that'.

Rudhir: (looks at her keenly) To batao kaise portray kiya tha mujhe?

Alpana: Nahi rehne do'.bura maan gaye to?

Rudhir: Isme bura maanne wali kya baat hai?? We already knw we didn't hav high thoughts abt each other'.hai na?

Alpana: (smiles at his words) Hmm''actually maine socha tha tum bahut moody aur ghamandi ho'.very self-centred as well'..(and she looks down'. being not really interested in meeting his eyes)

Rudhir: (laughs out) Sirf tum hi aisa nahi sochti ho Alpu'..almost sabhi aisa hi sochte hai'.in fact jab maine office join kiya tha'.tab 4 mahino tak kisine mujhse nazre utha kar baat nahi kii'.they thought boss ka beta bahut akru hai'.and yeah'.I don't completely disagree wid u all'.(and he winks)

Alpana: Ohh'.so tum mante ho tumme attitude hai'

Rudhir: Yeah'.kinda yes'but its never meant to harm anyone'.in fact mujhe lagta hai har insaan me itna to attitude hona chahiye'.so that not every1 takes him for granted!!

Alpana: That's true'.

Rudhir: Waise'.mujhe kaafi baad me samajh aya'.tumme jo attitude problem hai'.uska reason bhi yehi hai'.(she raises an eye-brow at that) I mean'.jab tumse pehli baar mila tha'.I thought almost same abt u'..but baad me ehsaas hua'..this attitude is necessary on ur part''warna yu independent lyf lead karna mushkil ho jata'hai na?

At this Alpana just stares at him'.wondering how he cud be so .'.umm '.understanding? Yes'.he was understanding''and this side of his was surely overwhelming!!

Rudhir snaps her out of the thoughts'.

Rudhir: Kya hua?? Did I say sumthing wrong or wat?

Alpana: Nahi'.aisi baat nahi hai'.its just'.mujhe neend aa rahi hai'.we shud go in'.

Rudhir: Yeah chalo'.(and he gets up)

Now Alpana is abt to get up'.when she sees his hand stretched out for her'.normally she wudnt take the help'.again she didn't need to'..but sumhow she felt like holding that hand'..and wid an unknown smile'.she gave her hand'..while he helped her stand up!!

After a while'.Alpana is on the bed'.but her eyes r still not closed'.

"Its strange'..it FEELS strange!!"
