A few days later, Geet looked into the mirror, staring at her reflection. Starting from the top, with an argument with Pinky and defeating to her, her hair was open and straight down to the middle of her back with a ribbon of pink entwined into hair. Coming to her face she had pale pink eye shadow around her eyes, to make them look bigger and brighter and a slight dusting of blusher on her cheeks and plain lip gloss on her lips to make them look fuller and shiny. Coming to her jewellery she had a simple necklace of with two entwined letters of M and G. After staring at the necklace, that was given to her by Maan, she looked away to continue to look at herself, where she had pale pink churiyaan to match her sari, which was more of a white colour with a hint of pink in the colour and a pattern of pink flowers going up the side of her pallu.
She looked back up to face herself and her breath stuck. Maan was behind her, smiling at her happily, before reaching around with his hand, touching her necklace and whispered in her ear, "I'm never far away, Geet," before nuzzling the side of her face and Geet closed her eyes, helpless to the wave of emotions she usually kept hidden deep inside her. A knock on the door and Pinky, saying "Are you ready, Geet?" startled Geet to reality and she turned around, her eyes slightly glazed with tears. She cleared her throat and said, "Yes. Where's Paro?" while blinking away the tears, putting on a faint smile at the same time.
"MUMMY!!!" Paro screamed out and both Geet and Pinky looked at each other in fear before rushing out of the room into the living room, only to see Adi playing with Paro, tickling her and making Paro laugh. Geet put a hand on her chest and closed her eyes in relief, sagging against the wall behind her and giggled slightly when Pinky went over and slapped Adi across his still injured back, to which Adi winced and pouted at. "Adi! Gosh, couldn't you have played a quiet game with Paro, instead of making her scream? You scared me and Geet!" Her posture clearly angry, with her hands on her waist and a glare that could kill aimed at Adi, who in turn placed Paro beside him and whispered to her, "Auntie is angry with me eh?" to which Paro just smiled at him cheekily.
Adi struggled slightly to get up before smiling at Pinky calmly and said, "Angel here was getting restless, while she was waiting for you both, so I had to keep her busy for a while. I must say though, she looks pretty," smiling adorably at Paro who was now running towards her mother as she had heard Geet giggling. Paro was wearing a blue party dress, with a bow tied at the back and wearing a blue headband in her hair. Pinky followed Adi's gaze to where Geet had bent down on her knees, and was talking to Paro quietly, straightening out Paro's rumpled dress. "Geet looks pretty as well. They both look pretty," before a sad expression fell on her face.
Adi noticing the expression, frowned himself for a minute before closing his eyes in frustration. He opened his eyes after a minute, before clearing his throat and said, "Isn't it time you girls went to the Mehndi???" It was like the signal for everyone to go crazy! Geet ran back into her room to get her sandals and purse, Pinky went into the kitchen to grab the present they bought for Pari and Paro ran after her mum, just so that she could be close to her mummy. After grabbing everything they needed, they were all lined up in front of the door, Geet and Pinky telling Adi at the same what to do, since he was still injured and Adi just sighed uninterestedly before practically pushing them out of the door. He shut the door in front of their faces, "And really, Adi you should make sure-"and leant against it before turning around to go back to the sofa and watch the cricket in peace!
