Moving out of the cafeteria he found her laughing with a new intern who was flirting with her.

"Dr.Kumar. what are you doing here. Aren't you supposed to be on your duty" he voiced his opinion to the new intern who was blatantly flirting with her while she blushed at his crude statements. "Yes sir. That is what I am doing. I was showing Ms. Malhotra here our hospital. Dr.Gupta has requested for it. She is our financier for the research department." The intern breathed out to armaan. "Oh!" was armaan's response to the new revelation. "Yes,sir. We are only left with the psychic ward now." "ok then" armaan turned to walk away.

"Dr.Mallik"he turned at the voice of her calling him though his first instinct was to run away. He didn't want to be under her gaze scrutinized. "Fancy meeting you here. I never thought I would meet you here" she smiled at him. Her vibrant eyes shining at finding him. She has asked her men to find him, she gave description of him and also the surveillance cameras of the hotel helped her. But she never thought she would meet him here, where she was to attend a meeting with the head of institute on furthering their research department. "What did you think. I was some drunk jerk. Thankyou " he snarkily replied. "No sorry I didn't mean it like that. I am just surprised" she replied quickly. "Save it. I don't need you patronizing me in any way. I uh''..never mind" he stormed away leaving her standing there with the intern looking at their conversation amused.

The intern quickly recovered "I am sorry Ms.Malhotra. it was rude of Dr.Armaan to say that. I apologize on his behalf" he broke the silence that was left after armaan's departure. "No. Dr.Kumar aka yash. I think I have already told you to call me shilpa. And it's all right, You have nothing to apologize for. And especially not on behalf of Dr.Mallik. he is surely capable of apologizing himself.Well, let complete our tour. Shall we? I think you promised of some delicious hot chocolate" she turned to him smiling, signing to lead the way. And just like that with her reassurance he bounced back to their conversation from earlier, the incident with armaan temporarily forgotten.

She rocked on her heels nervously, her hand raised to knock, her mind still contemplating the thought. She was determined to help him, to look past his anger, but that didn't mean she wasn't scared. She was scared of the accusations he can make on her, the anger he can show on her, his abusive words to her. He can hurt her in many ways. She didn't know if she was strong enough to bear all of them, but she had to try. She has to try to help him.

Inside he paced around collecting his things in rush to go to his usual outing. He reached home form hospital after his encounter with her. Though it was late he couldn't stay at home, it was eerily calm reminding of no presence of any family, he needed to escape form his loneliness. And the decision was thus made to go to the pub where he could wash away his misery in drinks. He pulled on his jacket, picked up his helmet from the couch, got his keys from the table by the side of the door. He opened the door to find her standing there with her hand raised to knock. "What?"he bursted at her. "Umm'''." She awkwardly pulled her hand down to her sides, "I just wanted to talk to you" she spoke to him. "well,here's the news. I can't. I am going out"he got out of his house and closed the door behind him. "Oh! Where are you going, to the pub? Are your bruises all healed" she asked, hopeful eyes waiting for his reply. While he was locking the door. "none of your business" he stalked away from her.

She followed him "Hey, I was just asking. No need to go all emo on me". He shot her a dirty look and continued to walk away. "Hey come on. What did I say now?? Dr. Mallik'''.." she shouted bouncing after him. "What do you want??" he asked impatiently as they waited for the elevator. "Well, I just want us to be friends" she smiled at him, her face shining, her energy visible in her bounces. She looked like a child getting her favorite candy or toy. "Why should I be friends with you. I don't know you. I don't even know your name" he moved into the elevator and she jumped in after him. he rolled his eyes at her and closed the door of the elevator to run it to the parking lot. "You know what, don't shoot so many questions at a time. I can't keep track of them" she said as the doors closed seeming troubled. "Ok, to answer your questions. I am new to the city, and am in dire need of friends. And yesterday I met you'." "correction, not met''.i wasn't even awake" he interrupted. "OK,ok I helped you. Now don't interrupt me or I will smack you" she made a smacking movement raising her eyebrows challenging him . he simply nodded at her,to which she relieved continued 'Ok where was I ''''..ya I saw you yesterday and you seem like a decent guy so I would like us to be friends. And to answer your next question spend time with me and you will know me. And as for my name you just need to ask me" she ranted out counting his questions on her fingers, her eyeballs moving round as if remembering the answer. At the time she looked like a school girl answering all questions of her teachers and looking proud of herself. He couldn't stop the amused smile from breaking on his face. She was surely an amusing girl he thought to himself. "Wow, you feel I am good guy when I was all drunk and with all those bruises. You surely are a poor judge of character" he teased her. "Ya you can say that. But there is always something to look in a person beyond his physical face he presents to everyone"she replied seriously. He could help but be amazed at her. One minute she was child like bouncing and another minute she spoke like a true philosopher looking into the depth of a person. She seemed to be an amazing person but he couldn't be friends with her because he didn't want one. All his friends have abandoned him and he needed no new on e so that they could also abandon him at time of his need. It hurts, to be truthful. And that broke him form his reverie to find her bouncing before him, her eyes shining awaiting his reply. "No, I don't want to know your name or anything, just get lost''" he dismissed her moving out of the elevator into the parking. His voice was cold once again. But she wasn't one to accept defeat and so she too jumped out of the elevator pursuing him. "Hey come on, please, petty please'''I need a friend.. Don't you?". He flinched at her question. "How did you get my address?" he avoided her question. "Well, it wasn't tough. I knew your name. and so it was not difficult to get the address. I have my sources" she replied coyly. "You know, it is quiet creepy. You seem to have no bounds for your stalkerism" he shuddered. She laughed. "No, no don't worry. I just asked at the hospital and they were more than happy to help me, their new financier". "Still creepy and misuse of power" he muttered rolling his eyes. "Ok, ok sorry. But how was I to contact you. You didn't even talk well with me at the hospital". "Well, that meant I wasn't interested in talking to you. That means you need to leave me alone" he shrugged moving to his bike, "But come on. I wanted to talk to you. I wanted us to be friends. You are the only one I know here out of work. Don't you need friends?" she asked her previous question. He flinched once again at that. She noticed it earlier and so she asked her question once again to study his expression. She understood that his fear was deep and hurt was recent. It included heartbreak and abandonment. "Ok. This is the last time Ms. Malhotra'." "Shilpa. It's shilpa malhotra" she retorted. "ok shilpa, last time. I am gonna say this." He breathed deeply digging his keys into the bike. "I don't need friends" his eyes were bleak, face expressionless. "And mostly I don't want you anywhere near me" he sneered at her. His hostility from the hospital clearly visible in his posture and words. "you helped me yesterday and I am thankful for that. But this ends here. I don't want you to come to me once again" he shouted barely able to hold his frustration at her continuous efforts of friendship. "Am I understood?" he asked her firmly getting on to his bike. "Am I understood?" he shouted once again at her unresponsive form as he started his bike. She nodded dumbly at his angry form. She has never seen anyone so angry, never has faced any one show so hostility to her, never had anyone shouting at her. "Get out!!" shouting for the last time he rode away...............
