"Didn't I ask you to come at one thirty?" Mayank said to the lady sitting in front of him, dressed in a blue and white chudidaar.
"Shut up," she commanded. "Eeks, what's with your hair?"
"I'm just having a bad hair day" he said, trying to set his hair with his hands.
"Anyways, do you even know what our mothers are up to?"
"What did you think, I've come here to have a chat with you?" he said while taking a seat in front of her. "I very well know what our moms want. And mind you, I am not going to marry you.
"Like I am longing to marry you." she replied instantly. "Look Sharma, I could have rejected my mom right away but I didn't 'cause I know how keen she is to getting us married off. I can't even tell my dad about this. He's just my mom-worshipper. Won't even care to listen to me."
"Blah blah blah!" Mayank said, pretending to yawn.
"So you want to marry me?" Nupur smirked.
"Didn't I tell you that I am not going to marry you?"
"And how can you be so sure?" she asked. "I' feel Shilpa aunty is one of those no-ifs-no-buts sorta ladies. Do you think she'll listen to you?"
"But she ought to understand that two obstinate people like us cannot have a happy marriage!"
"Urrgh, isn't that what I've been trying to say for the past ten minutes?"
"Mom's not gonna listen to me," Mayank said, softly.
At his comment, Nupur pretended to bang her head to the table. "Dumb ass." she muttered.
"I heard that."
"Good for you."
"What do we do now?"
"Get married." Nupur said sardonically.
"Would you like to have something, sir? asked a waiter, butting in from nowhere.
"Get him some brains." Nupur said, being sarcastic. Mayank just made a face at her.
"Sorry, I didn't get you ma'am." said the waiter.
"Not you fault, buddy." said Mayank, this time him being sarcastic. "Her blabber just goes over people's heads."
"Huh?" the waiter said, all confused.
"So you weren't listening to me all this while?" she asked Mayank.
"I-"
"Your order please!" exclaimed the waiter, cutting Mayank.
"Fine get a cup of cappuccino for me." said Nupur.
"And a cup of macchiato for me." said Mayank.
"Right-" the waiter was cut off.
"Macchiato? Eww!" said Nupur, making faces.
"Better than Cappuccino, any day." Mayank argued.
"One cu-"
"Shut up men!" Nupur shouted at the waiter. "And yeah, your choice of macchiato is so gay! No wonder you are found flirting with those she-devils all the time." she said, loud enough to grab all customer's attention towards them. Hearing her comment, one of the male customers threw his macchiato in the dustbin.
"Noway my choice is gay." Mayank said, matching the loudness of her voice. "And only dimwits like you can call my choice gay." And it goes without saying that the people in the cafeteria were enjoying the scene.
"Dimwit and me? Ha!" Nupur stood up.
"Dimwit you are. Ha!" Mayank stood up, too.

"Hello Samrat?"
"What's wrong Gunji?"
"My best friend's mom wants her daughter, that is my best friend to get married to her best friend's son who is hated by my best friend."
"What?"
"I said my best-"
"Okay okay, gotcha. So what do you want me to do?"
"Umm, help me, duh!"
"How on earth can I help you Gunjan? She's YOUR best friend, you help her out."
"Haw, what sort of a boyfriend are you? Meanie."
"Look Gunjan, there's no way I can help you out. Besides, my brother needs me more, right now."
"Okay fine then, I'll call you later. BYE"

"Your order sir, ma'am." said the waiter, sounding all scared.
"Shut the hell up," both Mayank and Nupur shouted in unison. The waiter left the place in tears. A weakling, he was.
"Look, you dimwit, you even made him cry." shouted Mayank.
"Me? You did so." screeched Nupur. "And I am NOT a dimwit."
"Oh no, I am not a dimwit." Mayank pulled her chain which made the spectators laugh.
"Oh shut up you monkey!" and they laughed again.
"Listen you-" Mayank was about to retort back just when his cell buzzed.
"What, Sam?" he shouted.
"Oh I can see that your date's going well." Samrat mocked at him.
"Yeah, very well."
"Sam, could you please come over?"
"Where are you now? Oh let me guess- CCD?"
"Right. I need you here as soon as possible."
"Kay bro, bye." And he hung up.
Meanwhile, Nupur was just eavesdropping. "What?" she asked.
"Eavesdropping, huh?
"Nowa-" this time Nupur's phone buzzed interrupting their conversation; rather argument.
"Hello Nupur?" asked Gunjan.
"Come over here, right now!"
"CCD?"
"Right"
"Kyun? Is jiju troubling you?" Gunjan teased her.
"Shut up Gunjan. Come soon!"
"Okay hun."
"See ya. Bye" Nupur hung up on Gunjan.
And this time, Mayank was eavesdropping,
"Gunjan. Hmm.. nice name." Mayank said.
"I hate you so much." said Nupur.
"Love you too, bebe." teased Mayank.
"You-"
"Monkey" said the spectators in unison. Mayank and Nupur gave them all a deathly glare which shut them up.
Samrat entered just then. "Woah! You both seem to have created a scene over here."
"Sam, she is crazy." Mayank said to Samrat.
"Bro, no!" he whispered. "Hey miss' Bhushan." he said to Nupur.
"Nupur it is!" said Nupur. " And may I know who you are?"
"SAMRAT?" shouted Gunjan entering the cafeteria.
"Gunjan?" he exclaimed with equal astonishment.
"Ah! Gunji" said Nupur.
"Arggh!" Mayank said, frustratedly. "What on earth is happening over here?"
"She is my best friend Gunjan." said Nupur.
"What?" asked Samrat, all shocked. "So your best friend is going to marry my brother?"
"Brother? This monkey is your brother?" asked Nupur. "Damn, this is all so confusing! Hang on, how do you know Samrat, Gunji?"
"He's my boyfriend!" said Gunjan.
"WHAT?" said Mayank and Nupur in unison. Needless to say, all the customers and the staff in the cafeteria were having a gala time looking at the foursome.
"Mayank, Nupur, Samrat, Gunjan?" exclaimed a lady along entering the cafe with her companion.
"MOM" Samrat, Gunjan, Mayank and Samrat shouted in unison.
