hello my darlings ...

i know its been insanely long and some of you must have forgotten this FF exists .. but its a beautiful sunday afternoon and i thought, i must fulfill my duty ive been running away from ... so i have decided i am going to be a good girl and update every sunday here on, as thats when i am mentally relaxed and can think as well... hope you guys dont hate me for keeping you waiting this long ... you know i love you all for being patient darlings ... i know some of you asked me as well, where this story was headed .. but .. i had no answers myself since i had no time at all ...

i hope to be a regular now .. will try and post as often as i can .. but the thing is also that .. the story is going such great guns i just wanna sit and enjoy its feel ..FF's are born when you want more than what you see on screen, here i get more than i ask for!

having made this little lecture .. i will waste no more time .. here is the next part!! have lost in touch with the story .. had to read part 30 .. so bear with me for this one time .. Happy Sunday ...

recap: Sameera asks Maan to marry her as she has very few days left and she wants to spend those with him...

Part 31:

Flashback:

She had been crying all day, avoiding him. He had told her truth was what mattered the most to him and there was just one thing, that she had hidden from him till today. But that one truth would change the nature of their relationship. All these days he had been her pillar of strength and support. He had loved her without questions conditions. He had told her, it was her today that would should matter as she had a life to make. He had supported her through and through and this had given her the confidence that no matter what happens, he would not leave her side.

It had been raining all day. How symbolic she thought. I am crying and my babaji's crying with me… But isn't there a solution to this problem babaji? Cant I just be his friend? But she knew she couldn't.. the thought of seeing him with another woman just pierced her heart. The way he looked at her didn't help either. It seemed as though he knew everything.

Kyun babaji… she argued… "inhe sab kaise pata lag jaata hai???" kya main apne bare main sach chupake galat kar rahi hoon???

There was roaring thunder followed by lightning… was this a sign from her babaji…. She had made up her mind she would tell him….

When she had woken up that morning, she was super nervous. It was a big day. Had she chosen not to tell him the truth, it would perhaps been like any other day… but she had made up her mind… she didn't want to carry the burden inside her any longer …she really loved her baby and there was nothing to hide. At the most, what would he do? Yell at her? Stop talking to her… ??? its alright she thought… I am not going to lie to him anymore…

But it was not as easy as she had thought. Things started going bad right from the beginning. Sasha ended up showing Maan a crappy layout. The coffee vending machine had run out of coffee powder and the maintenance guy hadn't replaced it as yet. Maan hated it when he didn't get coffee while working. When she made tea for him, he had just smiled but she didn't miss the annoyance on his face. The clients were two hours late and this had upset his entire schedule.

Please babaji .. aaj aap mere saath aisa kyun kar rahe ho .. she pleaded .. "kisi bhi haal main mujhe aaj unhe sach batana hi hoga …"

"Ridiculous!!! Ab main unke liye baithke sketches banaunga .. aur mera kaam koun sambhaalega!! Yeh Sasha bhi …"

Geet runs up to him and tries to calm him down, but he has a few more things to vent … she calmly listens to him and then she says …

"itni si baat! Sir… aap khamakha tension le rahey hai … aap please baithiye … main aapke liye coffee laati hoon"

Maan: par coffee too …

Geet: maine machine theek karva diya hai … aap please apne cabin main rukiye .. main abhi aati hoon …

He already feels better …. Geet was the only person with whom he felt, he could be himself, and she totally understood the way he functioned and that's perhaps why he wanted her all to himself …

With a smile on her face talking to the cup she enters the room, almost ready to trip, just in time for him to hold her…. " sambhaalo Geet" he manages to utter …

Geet: main theek hoon sir ….

She straightens herself .. and says … " aur dekhiye .. iss baar maine coffee bhi nahi girayi …"

She hands it over to him smiling still, and turns to leave as he holds her hand and pull her back …

"Ruko na …. Jaane ki kya jaldi hai"

Geet turns, but suddenly there is awkwardness … both of them look away …

Geet: (to herself) …. Maan sir mujhe aise kyun dekh rahey hai … main unhey bata doon?

Maan: mujhe Geet ko batana chahiye ke main uske bare main kya sochta hoon ….

He takes a deep breath and takes her hand in his … Geet can feel her heart beating super fast, she knows Sasha in the other cabin could hear it …. Maan looks into her eyes .. and says …

Maan: Thank you!

Geet: (surprised) Thank you ?

Maan: (surprised, at uttering what he hadn't expected himself) Haan .. thank you …. Coffee ke liye …

Geet: its okay sir .. ab main jaun?

Maan: Haan .. tum jao …

As she is about to reach the door he says … " fir kab aogi ?"

Geet: huh ?

Maan: I mean … wo file ….

Geet: sir kaam thodi der main khatam karke aati hoon …

Maan smiles to himself … as she walks off …

For days after that maan had tried to tell her what he felt about her, but he couldn't … why was it so hard … after all .. Maan Singh Khurana ke liye yeh itna kitna mushkil hoga .. ek ladki ko batana ke wo ussey pyar karta hai … par difficult tha ….with each day that passed, his love for her only seemed to grow, and she would do something for him, or something around him that would determine him even more to have her in his life …. But the day he had told her what he felt for her, he had promised her he would never part from her and Maan Singh Khurana never went back on his promises. The whole world knew it. Geet knew it. Well for now, this confidence is what mattered the most to him.

Maan thinks of how hard it was but how he had finally managed it to confess the state of his mind and heart to her . .. and about how that's why he treasured having Geet in his life .. and that he had promised himself he would never let go of her .. she was his sunshine, the reason for his existence .. He couldn't even imagine his life without her … But now he saw his promises breaking… and he didn't like it … for the first time … he wanted to be this cold brutal maan who let his head rule over his heart and do what he wanted … but it wasn't easy at all .. not after knowing the truth that the woman he had thought had betrayed him and walked out on him, actually hadn't walked out on him, but did this for a reason .. and here was another woman, to whom he had promised the world, he had made a commitment and he also knew she loved him back with all her heart … but the fact as on today was … irrespective of the past … he wanted to be with one woman … Geet !!

As Geet also remembers all this, she smiles to herself .. and she also remembers how he had proposed to her finally .. well, he hadn't actually proposed to her, but had told her how much she meant to him and how important she was in his life .. and she on her part had finally bared her heart out ….

Geet: geet tub hi na … Maan sir … hai hi aise .. tu unhey parshaan kyun karti rehti hai … aaney do aaj unhey , main unhe bata doongi ke, aaj ke baad main fir kabhi aisi baatein inke saamne nahi karoongi … unse door jaane ki baat nahi karoongi …

She decides to meet him at the Khurana Mansion, and surprise him with a meal of his choice. She knew the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and after all… that's what he had tried this morning …

As she walks into the Khurana mansion she is surprised to see Maan already sitting there. From the looks of it, his face has lost color and he is looking down …

Geet: aap aa gaye ….

Maan: (straight faced- he doesn't want to mince words as his eyes are blood shot red) Sameera mujhse shaadi karna chahti hai …

Geet stops dead in her track … she doesn't know how to react … she cant say a word at first but eventually gathers courage and says …

Geet: oh! Aur aap ….

Maan (silence)

Geet doesn't like his reaction …. " yeh baat aap mujhe kyun bata rahey hai" …. And then she remembers the conversation in the morning where they had talked and he had told her about how he would like her to stand up for her feelings .. she wonders if he has been testing her … she feels weird … but she gathers herself and she says ….

Geet: mana kar deejiye aap usey …

Maan is silent …. There is no one else in the hall… just him and her, and there is atleast a 5 meter distance between the two .. as they talk ….

Geet: Maan sir … aap mere saath koi mazaak kar rahey hai kya?

Maan: nahi ( crisp and curt)

Geet: toh fir aapne usey mana nahi kia?

Maan: main nahi kar paaya …

A thunderbolt strikes Geet … as she comes to terms with what he just said ….

Geet: oh! ( dazed)

Maan: Sameera … marne waali hai …. Usey cancer hai ….

Geet: kya ???

Maan: haan .. aur issi liye who mujhse door chali gayi thi ….

Geet's world seems to have turned upside down …

Maan walks towards geet …. And he notices a tear roll down her eye.. he gestures to wipe it … she stops him ….

Maan: geet … tum khamosh kyun ho .. kuch kaho …

Geet: main kya bol sakti hoon sir … Sameera shayad theek keh rahi hai … uske aakhri waqt main usey apne ki zaroorat hai … aur bhala aapse apna koun ho sakta hai … ( she wipes her tears) …

Maan: what the hell is wrong with you geet ? yeh tum keh rahi ho? ( holding her by her shoulders)

Geet: haan … yeh main keh rahi hoon …waqt pe apno ka saath choot jaye toh kaisa lagta hai .. yeh main jaanti hoon …

Maan: yeh philosophical baatein karna band karo Geet ( anger swelling in his eyes with tears also) … mujhe laga tha .. tum kahogi .. maan sir aap mere ho .. aap kisi aur se shaadi kaise kar sakte hai … mujhe laga tha tum mujhe apna haq se kahogi ….

Geet: wo toh aap waise bhi ho ( she says determined)

He doesn't know what to say to this …

Geet: kisi aur se shaadi kar lene se, aap kisi aur ke nahi ho jaoge Maan sir … iss baat ka mujhe poora yakeen hai ….

Maan: par Geet ….

Geet: Maan sir … Sameera ko aapki zaroorat hai … mujhe lagta hai .. aapko ussey shaadi akr leni chahiye ….

Maan: aur agar yeh uski koi nayi chal ho toh?

Geet: mujhe aap pe itna toh bharosa hai .. ke agar aapne ussey pyar kia hoga toh wo buri toh nahi ho sakti ….

Maan is amazed at the confidence she has in him… But he is filled with such a turmoil within himself that he just walks away from there .. why the hell was she making this even harder for him …

He walks into his room and bangs his fist so hard on the dressing table that he ends up breaking it and also hurting himself in the process.

A while later, Maan, Sameera and Geet are in the hospital, and Geet is wondering why she had also been called... sameera looks at the two of them and she says ...

Sam: Geet tum soch rahi hogi maine tumhe yahan kyun bulaya hai ...

Geet: main jaanti hoon Sameera .. aur haan ... mujhe iss shaadi se koi aitraaz nahi hai ...

Maan looks away ...

Precap: maan-geet-sameera are in the hospital-geet is feeding sameera soup and all three of them ae smiling and cracking jokes.
