Part 5

Sunday Morning

It had been a really peaceful night of sleep for all three of them, Maan and Geet were looking forward to being "friends" and dadi could definitely see the change in their interaction and was happy that the two loggerheads were finally moving forward even though it was snail pace it was still something!

It was breakfast time and Geet had come to the main house early too so that she could help out with Dadima, she only been living there for 2-3 weeks but already knew that Dadi loved cooking and she only did so on Sundays. She didn't see anyone around in the main house when she entered, not even Maan sir. hmmm that's weird she thought and headed towards the kitchen to find Dadi and ahh there she was the elegant old lady was standing in the kitchen deep in thought, even though she was old now anyone could see how beautiful she was even today, Geet had never seen her own dadi and was happy to have found her dadi in Maan's dadima, she thought to herself.

"Good morning dadima"

Savitri Devi came out of her thoughts and turned around to see Geet standing in the kitchen looking adorable in a green salwar kameez, she wondered to herself how Geet still stuck to her traditions and was still the 'sanskari' girl even after moving to a fast-paced city like Delhi and she respected Geet for that. She absolutely adored this girl not only because she could stand against her Angry Young Grandson, but also because of her bubbly, caring, respecting, and loving nature. She couldn't help but give her a wide smile and walk over to Geet to pull her into a hug.

"Good morning beta, kaisi hai aap?"

"Dadima, main bilkul theek hoon, waise bhi yeh sawal mujhe apse karna chahiye. aapki tabyat theek nahi hai na, toh aaj bhi cooking? chaliye hatiye main banati hoon aaj breakfast."

"Geet aap toh jaanti hain mujhe cooking kitni pasand hai, waise bhi ghar ke cooks ke haaton main desi khanne ke maza nahi isliye hum khud hi banate hai."

"Dadima... maine kaha na main banaungi aaj nashta, aap bas mujhe bataiye aapko kya pasand hai aur Maan sir ko kya pasand hai?"

"Theek hai baba... aap jeeti, hmm... humein aaj aloo ke paranthe makhan aur dahi ke saath khane ka mann kar raha hai, kya apko banana aata hai?"

"Offo dadiji main ek punjaban hoon mujhe paranthe banana nahi aayega, aap bhi na... toh aap ke liye aloo ke parathe aur Maan sir ke liye?"

"Waise Maan ko bachpan main gobhi ke parathe bahut pasand the, par aaj kal woh kuch zyada hi angrez ho gaye hain cereal khate hai, toh aap unki fikar mat kariye. sirf apna aur mera nashta bana lijiye," Dadi told Geet and walked out of the kitchen to read the newspaper.

Geet got herself busy making the dough and boiling potatoes for the parathas, but for some reason she decided to make gobhi one's as well, and started grating the gobhi.

What she and Dadima were unaware of was that Maan had been silently eavesdropping on their conversation with a smile on his face, extremely happy with the way his Geet and Dadi interacted and had gotten close.

Woah!!! his Geet... ya HIS Geet, he had accepted that he had strong feelings for her, and a strong sense of protectiveness, but wasn't ready yet to admit them to her and himself that the feelings were actually love; but he knew one thing for sure, he couldn't imagine Geet in someone else's life.
