Hi guys, i love your comments, so please keep them coming, especially after this part because i'll need them... im not happy with how this part turned out, but i realized that the more i tried to change it, the worse it became, so im posting it as is, and will be looking forward to ur comments and criticisms...

PART 4

Over the next few days Armaan and Riddhima became good friends. After winning the last game of the season, Armaan had rushed to finish the aloo parathas that Riddhima had brought, and since that day he'd been on her back for more parathas.

Riddhima also started treating Armaan like a human. She was still afraid of expressing her true emotions in front of him, which is why her pointless arguments with Armaan were still in full swing. The difference between the pre-game fights and the post-game fights was that earlier, Riddhima was an acquaintance for Armaan, but now she was a friend. This change in their relationship gave Armaan the freedom to flirt with Riddhima like he did with all his girl friends, though he often refrained himself for some unknown reason. And Riddhima got the freedom to trip him in the hallway or punch him in the ribs whenever he tried to outsmart her, or whenever she was just in torture-Armaan-mode.

As Armaan and Riddhima started spending more time together, Nikki also became good friends with Armaan. Armaan and Nikki were friends earlier, but Suvarna's presence around Armaan all the time made Nikki avoid him. She wasn't interested going near the drama queen unless it was absolutely necessary. Riddhima and Nikki were hanging out with Armaan a little too much, according to Suvarna and she was dying to get back the attention from Armaan that was lately being given to Riddhima and Nikki.

Riddhima didn't realize when time flew by and she was walking across the stage and receiving her high school diploma. The reality of being done with high school hadn't hit her yet, what's more, she hadn't realized that she wouldn't be seeing Armaan daily anymore. Just when she started weaving dreams and letting go of her inhibitions regarding Armaan's feelings for her, high school ended, and so did the arena for Armaan and Riddhima's battles and interactions.

As the graduation ceremony came to an end, all the grads started taking pictures and congratulated each other while the parents mingled. When Nikki spotted Riddhima in the crowd, she ran to congratulate her best friend, though she was quite surprised by the distant look on Riddhima's face. While Riddhima stared at the 2010 tassel, Nikki tried to decipher her expressions. On not understanding why Riddhima was so quiet, Nikki asked her directly, "Riddhima is everything ok? You were so excited about graduation all day today, what's wrong?"

Riddhima looked up hearing Nikki's voice, and plastered a smile on her face, "oh Nikki, congratulations we're finally done with high school!!"

Nikki smiled, and said "yeah I know it's crazy, these four years just flew by, but why were you so quiet when I walked up to you?"

Riddhima told her half of the truth, "Nikki I've been so excited these past few days about graduating and finishing high school, that it didn't hit me until now that we won't be coming to this school anymore."

"You're right Ridzy, even though I'm super-excited about going onto college next year, a part of me is really sad about leaving so many people behind. Out of all the people in this room, I'm probably only going to stay in touch with a handful, the rest, I might not see them again," Nikki sighed.

Riddhima became even more emotional hearing this and expressed her true fear to Nikki, "Yeah, I probably won't see Armaan again either, we're going to colleges in totally different parts of the country, and we aren't close enough for him to go out of his way to stay in touch with me," Riddhima said sadly.

Nikki felt bad for Riddhima, in the last few months Nikki wasn't oblivious to Riddhima's growing feelings for Armaan. Looking at Riddhima's glum face, Nikki advised her to go talk to Armaan, "Ridzy we're friends with Armaan so I'm sure he'll want to stay in touch, why don't you go talk to him, and congratulate him as well?"

Riddhima looked at Armaan standing at a distance, and thought about Nikki's suggestion. 'I guess Nikki is right, I mean he'd want to stay in touch with me because I'm a friend, and over time we might have something more between us, maybe''

"K Nikki, I'll go talk to him," saying so Riddhima walked to where Armaan was standing a minute ago. 'Where did he go now? Ugh, that's why I get annoyed of him being so popular, people just come and whisk him away, and then I cant find him' oh there he is!'

Riddhima waved at him from a distance, but he walked farther away with Suvarna' not this chipku again' but Armaan saw me, and didn't even bother to acknowledge it'

Confused at Armaan's reaction, Riddhima just followed Armaan hoping she could talk to him before he disappears again. She followed them outside the graduation hall, and below the staircase, Riddhima heard Suvarna say, "Awww, I love you Ammy," and then she jumped to hug him like there was no tomorrow. Seeing Armaan smile and hug Suvarna back, Riddhima walked back dejectedly into the hall.

'What were you thinking Ridzy? He may consider you as a friend, but you guys could never be more than that' there is a huge difference between your cliques, you can be friends, but that's it,' Riddhima strolled back to where her friends were, and decided that she didn't want to stay in touch with Armaan. 'It's just a crush, I'll get over him'the only reason I wanted to stay in touch with him even at college was because I was hoping that maybe we could be something more one day' but that isn't happening, so I should just get over him and look forward to a new beginning at college.. what I feel for him is just a high school crush, once I'm away from this atmosphere, I'll forget about all this and laugh at my childish feelings for him''

As the night wrapped up, everyone started to leave. While Riddhima headed towards the door, she met Armaan.

"Hey, Congratulations! High school is done!," Armaan gave Riddhima a friendly hug while she kept kept repeating to herself that it is only a hug' nothing intimate.. just a hug.. and I don't feel anything serious for him.. I just have a crush' and this is just a hug. Convincing her heart for the time being, Riddhima gave a fake smile and congratulated Armaan as well. Though she didn't dare to hug him back, she waited for him to let go of her, and when he did, she could sense that she actually didn't want him to leave.

"Today has been such a long day, I didn't even get to congratulate or say farewell to so many people," Armaan talked about their last day together, ever.

Riddhima tried convincing herself that she was just another girl, another friend whom Armaan wanted to say bye to. Realizing that Armaan was waiting for Riddhima to continue the conversation, she added, "Yeah, I can't believe we'll be living on our own now, it's so much responsibility."

"Not for me, I've been responsible for myself and my actions for many years now," Riddhima forgot her emotional battle and was surprised to see a new expression on Armaan's face, it wasn't exactly sadness, but something along those lines, "so I'm completely ready for college. I'm actually very excited, its going to be a new phase, and I want to make it the best phase of my life."

To lighten up the mood, he added "plus, I've already met some hot girls going to the same college as me through Facebook." Riddhima smiled at him, as he playfully winked at her.

The smile soon vanished as Armaan brought an end to their conversation, "Well, Riddhima I gotta go," he said, looking at Suvarna and some other guys waiting for him by his car, "but good luck at college, I'm sure you'll be famous one day, so don't forget me," he said cheekily.

Riddhima giggled half-heartedly, "Sure Armaan, good luck to you too."

"Thanks Riddhima, and we should stay in touch and our whole gang should hang out whenever we come back home, and remember, I won't meet you unless you bring me aloo parathas, I'll get going now, or else Sue will kill me with her tantrums."

Riddhima could only give him a weak smile as he hugged her and ran away into the distance.

"Bye Armaan," Riddhima said softly, and waved at him as he got in his car, waved at her, and drove away.

While her parents went to get the car, Riddhima stood staring at her high school. With tears welling up in her eyes, she looked up and tried to capture all her memories, especially memories of him' of her crush' only a crush' just a crush.
