Zaib was in the guest room, he sat near the fire on the cold night thinking back to Kripa's words. He felt sorry for Kripa. He felt as if god had forgotten to write happiness in her destiny. As he sat there for a longer thinking he heard the door open and ran in Adi, jumping right in his lap. He kissed his cheek, and Zaib kissed him back.

"Dad why are you sitting here?"

"Um… then where am I suppose to be?"

"With me and Mom, where else."

Zaib was left speech less, "Well, that… I… um, I…."

"Angad is sick Adi." Kripa said. Adi and Zaib turned around and saw Kripa standing there.

"So what?" Adi said hugging Zaib.

"Beta I can't get sick." Kripa said walking to them.

"Ok Mom, then can I stay with him?" He asked Kripa.

Kripa sighed, gave him permission, telling him not to bug him at night and then left the room.

About thirty minutes later Zaib sat with Adi on the bed, Zaib had Adi in his arms, and they both sat their enjoying Tom and Jerry. Each time Adi laughed, it made Zaib look at him. Zaib didn't really like young kids but for some reason Adi was different. He suddenly wished that he had a son just like Adi.

A little after the cartoon was over Adi caught Zaib looking at him. "Dad, aap aaisa kyun dekh raha hai?" He jumped in his lap and Zaib wrapped his arms around him.

"Kuch nahie."

"Ok, I'm tired can we sleep now?"

Zaib nodded his head, he helped Adi lay down and pulled a blanket over him. Zaib caressed Adi's forehead, as Adi looked at Zaib.

"Dad."

Zaib was lost and didn't Adi call him 'Dad.'

"Dad?" He yelled louder now.

"Yes?" Zaib said quickly.

"Where were you all these years?" Adi asked hugging his hand.

Zaib didn't know what to say. He glanced at the clock, it was only 9:30. "Go to sleep. I will tell you everything tomorrow!" Adi nodded his head and closed his eyes. Soon he was sleeping. Zaib wasn't used to sleeping this early, and he could hear his stomach growl. He decided to go into kitchen and get something to eat.

Five minutes later he stood in front of the open fridge. He reached his hand into the fridge when the lights turned on, he quickly closed it and looked at the door. He saw Dadi standing their. "Aunty, I was… that just… um…."

Dadi laughed and walked to him, "Are you hungry?" She asked. Zaib nodded his head like a small kid. Dadi laughed again.

A few minutes later Dadi and Zaib sat on the sofa, while Zaib had butter bread, Dadi wanted him eat, and smiled, thinking back to a young Angad. Zaib noticed her look and put his plate away and looked at Dadi. "Um… Kripa told me about Angad," he began.

Instantly tears spilled from Dadi's eyes. Zaib got scared and quickly gave her a tissue. "Don't cry." He said pleading, and Dadi smiled.

"I'm sorry beta, I didn't mean to scare you." Zaib smiled now, "You just remind me of Angad."

Zaib now smiled looking away, then he looked back and took Dadi's hand in his, "I don't have a family," he started, "But when I met you, I felt like I've known you for years. Almost as if, you were my own mother," as Zaib spoke Dadi smiled, "Maybe it's because I've never had someone look at me with so much love and affection," he looked at his hands now, "Can, I call you Dadi?" Dadi laughed now and Zaib looked up at her. "Did I say something funny?"

"No." Dadi answered, "And that's nothing you need to ask."

"Thanks… Dadi." They hugged as Zaib had a flash back sitting at a similar area hugging someone.

I'm sure you guys know the mystery now. I did this on pourpose becasue i didn't want to streach this fan-fic. I plan to end it by NEXT WEEK, FRIDAY. December 23, at the latest december 25. No later than that! 😛
