Part-6

Next three weeks passed quickly as everyone got busy with their routine drills and work. There was appraisal after two weeks at KMA so BC announced five days vacation for first year cadets to relax as they had to work hard for appraisals.

All cadets were happy and most of them went home to visit their families and others went on short vacation with their friends. Our dear six decided to take a trip to Darjeeling but Naina told them that she would join them for last two days as she wanted to go back to Nainitaal to visit her parents.

Everyone was ready in the next morning and they went to the bus-station from where Naina was going to Nainitaal and other five were going to Darjeeling through bus.

On the other side, all faculty members were in the mess except Raj. Raj shortly came in for breakfast.

Raj- KMA looks empty without cadets, isn't it?

Naveen- yeah, it does. I would have gone home but my parents are in Goa right now with their friends. It's good that Naina is going to Darjeeling with her friends so she is not stuck here.

Raj suddenly remembered sherry telling him about Naina going to home when she informed him about Darjeeling trip.

Raj- Did naina know that your parents are in Goa.

Naveen- Yes, she does and that's why she decided to go to Darjeeling.

Raj was in thoughts as why Naina lied to her friends and everyone else.

Shalu suggested that they should go for a trip to her farmhouse as it would be good for picnic and short vacation. Everyone liked the idea but Raj told them that he was heading for Delhi as he had some business to take care of. Ritu was about to say no for trip but Nandini and Shalini didn't take no for an answer. They told suriji and lolitajee to come along too.

They went to get ready and Raj went to bus station to find out about Naina. Bus to the Darjeeling was already left and Naina was sitting on a bench thinking what she should do next as she wasn't going to Nainitaal for sure, and she was actually feeling bad about lying to her friends but she knew that she didn't have choice.

She was about to go to buy a ticket to Delhi when Raj stopped her. She was surprised to see Raj there, and quite shocked to see him angry.

Naina- Why did you stop me? I have to go home.

Raj- Bus to Nainitaal has already left ten minutes ago and last I checked, that's where your home is. Where are you going Naina? Why did you lie?

Naina- I didn't lie to anyone and where I am going is none of your business.

Raj(angrily)- It damn is… as I know you are up to something and you have to tell me today or I will call Naveen and tell him what you are doing right now.

Naina- Are you threatening me?

Raj- No, it's pure blackmailing and you are coming with me right now…

He grabbed her hand without her consent, and dragged her to the jeep. He made her sit in the jeep and drove away from there. Fifteen minutes later, both of them were outside of ambala where Raj stopped the jeep. Raj indicated Naina to step out and follow him. Naina was angry but she didn't have any choice left so she did what Raj told her to.

They passed around the trees and reached to an open grassy area near the lake where there wasn't a single person around. There was few benches where they both sat down.

Raj- Naina, I am asking you last time what are you doing here at KMA?

Naina- I can't tell you so please let me go and do my work.

Raj- Today, you have to tell me the truth. I am not asking you but I am ordering you as your senior officer that you have to tell me the truth.

Naina (sighed)- I don't have any choice left, do I?

Raj(sternly)- No.

Naina opened up her bag and handed Raj a document. Raj read it and he was shocked. He looked at Naina with question in his eyes.

Naina- It's the truth. We are here for this and this only….

Raj- What do you mean we?

Naina-me, aalekh, ali & Huda…

Raj- You mean all four of you came here to do this thing and none of you thought how dangerous and stupid this is or how you can ruin your life if only one thing goes wrong…

Naina- well, we are very well aware of consequences if something goes wrong but we also know that if we will succeed then we all can move on with our lives. This is our burden and we can't live our lives with this burden. We had to do something so we did. Now whether you like it or not, it's the whole truth.

Raj- You all are insane and I am not going to let you ruin your lives. I will report Brigadier Chandok right away about this.

Naina- You can't do that as we already took the step so either you tell him now then the outcome is the same as if we failed in the mission.

Raj- Why didn't Brigadier Mehra stop you?

Naina- He didn't have any choice as we weren't going to step back.

Raj- Naina, you and all three of them are already officers. You can serve this country as soldiers. But you decided to come to KMA as undercover officers so you can find out about your mentor. Only your principal Brigadier Mehra knows about this and you are here unofficially. If someone finds out than you will be severely punished for rule breaking.

Naina- I don't care, and we will prove captain Kunal innocent. It was our promise to his family and we will keep it. We owe "guru dakshina" to our mentor and we will not fail.

Raj- When did you pass your final exams and when did you take your vows and became officers.

Naina- In those six months, we got our final training and before we came here, we graduated with honors but we didn't have any ceremony as we wanted this first case. We all have our assigned missions once we successfully complete this one, and I am begging you not to reveal this to anyone please…

Raj- So all four of you are Lieutenants of Indian army then? And none of us knew…

Naina- Well now you know and I would really appreciate if you don't tell anyone sir…

Raj- I have two conditions for that.

Naina- What is it?

Raj- First, you will call me "Raj" from now on whenever we are alone as you are not my cadet and may be I am your senior officer but I miss being your friend. And the second one is that all four of you have to let me help you in your mission.

Naina(smiled)- I also miss my friend and your second condition depends on guys' reactions. But we will let you help as we need your help and support.

Raj(smiled)- I will always support the truth. So where were you headed?

Naina- Delhi for some information…

Raj- I will come with you then…

Naina- Won't bhaiya get suspicious that where have you gone?

Raj- As you fool your brother, I can do that also… I already told them that I am going to Delhi for some work and they are on their way to shalu's farm house for picnic so you don't have to worry about that.

Naina- Then let's go to Delhi.

Raj drove to Delhi and four hours later, both were arrived at Delhi.
