jiggy: jai nehi aaya kya bani?

bani nodes her head in negative

jiggy: may be he went some where on office related work, ata hi hoga. u dont worry.ok

bani nodes her head. jiggy smiling goes to arrange the dishes on the table,in
the mean while rano takes varun to his room.

after sometime the men comes down ,goes towards the dining area and sits in
their regular places. while serving to them jiggy asks adi

jiggy: adi jai kaha hai?

adi: wahi tho mein puchna chata hoon jai kaha hai? shayad soya hoga kyun bani?
jigyasa go and call him to have the dinner

bani frowns listening to this, while jiggy says

jiggy: tumara kya matlab hai adi agar jai ghar mein hota tho mein tumse puchtha
kya? kaha gaya tumhari saath hi tho office aaya

uday: office tho aaya. par waha se do baje hi nikhal chuka. adi kehra tha ki usse
sar meh daard hai

adi: ha i only told him to go home so that he can rest

jiggy: lekin voh ghar nahi aaya. yaha nahi aaya tho kaha gaya?

massi came there carrying the last dishes says

massi: phone karke dekho kaha hai aur kya kar raha hai? kitni der hogayi kaha
rehgaya hoga! yeh ladka bhi na.....

as nachiket is about to do phone they see jai entering the room with an tired face

adi: jai u r coming home now when u left the office afternoon. where r u till now?

jai: voh......... mein....

uday: jai kaha the tum ab tak?

jai: rashte mein mera purana dost mila aur baath karte karte time ka patha hi nehi
chala. (lying)

uday: its ok. how is ur headache, r u feeling better?

jai: ya dad i am fine

nachiket: karan bhaiyaa bhi nahi aya

jai: voh apni friend ki yaha hai. mujhe bataya ajj raat wahi rukhnewala hai

massi: teek hai. go to ur room quickly, fresh up and come down to have the dinner

jai: sorry massi.i am not hungry, u guys carry on

saying he is about to move towards the stairs adi call him

adi: arre jai aise kaise u r not hungry. u dint have ur kunch in the afternoon also
come and eat

massi: munna tum apni apna lunch nahi kiya! kyun?

jai: voh massi mujhe bhook nahi laga

krishna: teek hai. ab tho kuch ka, orelse u will become sick

jai: nahi ma mein apni dost ke saat kuch snacks kaya. usse hi pet bhar gaya. app
log kayiye

massi: par munna .....

without listening to what she is saying jai climbs the steps and goes to his room.
after taking shower he goes to study to check his mails which he had missed the
whole day

eventhough bani notices that he is upset remains silent and eats her food. after dinner
they all sit in the living room watching tv and talking with each other.

massi comes with a plate of food and milk towards bani and says

massi: bani beta

bani: ji

massi: take this food for jai or atleast ask him to drink some milk

bani: ji lekin unhone kaha na unhe bhook nahi hai

massi: he must be hungry lunch bhi nahi kiya na, aise kisa bhook nahi hoga? bus
aise hi kehtha rehta ki usse bhook nahi hai. tu leja

bani: par voh aisa kyun kahega? shayad sach mein unhe bhook nahi hoga. app
rehne dijiye.

massi: aree aise kaise rehne doo, bacha bhooka pet soyaga kya?

bani: lekin voh bacha todi na hai agar bhook lagi tho voh kudh kalega. app chintha
mat kariye

massi: (irritated) tum uski patni hai ki nahi? khana lekar tum usse khilane ki bajay
tum kudh mana kar rahe ho

bani feels bad about what massi said. it just that she doesn't want to disturb jai now,
karan told her that if jai said no it means no and he wont listen to anyone and if anyone
dont listen to him he will get very angry, and today he looks upset too

bani: ji aise baat nahi hai. i mean agar mein unhe khane ke liye zabardasti kiya tho
shayad unhe pasand nahi hoga aur bewaja mujhe datenge

all the others in the hall remain silent knowing massi love for jai, it will be waste
of there energy even though they involved in it because at the end they know that
she wont leave bani without taking food for her munna.

krishna: arre bet kyun datega, patni ho tum uski. uska kayal rakna tumari farz hai
jao.

bani: lekin aunty....

massi: lekin vekin kuch nahin. khana lekar tum jati ho ya mein jao?

having no other chance bani takes the plate and glass from massi and heads towards
their room while massi says in the back

massi: kuch tho kilakar neche aa. agar kuch nahi kaya tho milk dedena.


going in to their room bani sees he is not there and is about to say the same to
massi when she see's a light in the next room. opening the door she sees jai on
the sofa typing something on the keyboard of the laptop on his lap. seeing the door
opening jai lifts his head and sees bani standing near the door. even though he is
surprised to see her there he doesn't show it. instead he bends his head and
continues to work on the laptop and asks

jai: bani tum yaha

bani: voh .........

jai: agar tumhe mujhse baat karna hai tho hum kal subha baat karenge. ab nahi plz.
i am in no mood to talk to anyone aur mujhe disturb mat karna. plz go

bani stood in her place not moving. seeing that jai asks

jai: kya bani? why r u still standing there?

bani: voh...mr.walia app ka kahana(showing the plate)

jai: mein ne kahana bani mujhe bhook nahi.

bani: kuch tho kaligiye. voh appki massi kehrahithi ki bhooka peta sona nahi chahiye

jai: nahi bani i dont feel like eating.take it away

bani: par

jai: plz go

bani: par apne tho lunch bhi nahi kiya

jai: (irritated and loudly) bani take the plate and go out

bani thinks what massi said about making him eat something or drink the milk

bani: atleast drink some milk

jai: ( frustated) i dont like to drink milk

bani doesn't want to go down like that, she knows massi will become upset seeing
her return unsuccessful. so she says softly

bani: garam dhood pine se achha lagtha hai

jai: (shouts very loudly) tumhe ek baar kehne se samajh me nahi aata kya? mein
kehrahi hoona ke mujhe bhook nahi hai tho kyun mera peecha padi ho. mujhe pata
hai mujhe kya achha lagtha aur kya nahi agar tumhe itna achha lagtha hai tho
tum khud pi lo aur yaha se chale jao.

bani is so scared hearing him shout that she drops the plate and glass on the ground
and her eyes filled with tears, seeing the milk and food spread on the floor makes
jai more irritated

jai: (shouts)now why are u standing there ? for godsake getout and leave me alone

with tears running down her cheeks bani goes to her room ,closes the door and
flungs on the bed crying. she know that he will be angry if anyone persits him to do
something he doesn't want, she even told massi so but she dint expect him to
shout on her like that. how can he shout on her like that?
she sits on the bed wiping the tears with the back of her hand and says to herself
bani: woh kya samajtha hai apne appko? humshe mujh par chilaata rehtha hai?
mein ne kya kiya? mein ne unki massi se kaha bhi tha par agar voh mujhe
zabar dasti khaana lekar upar beja tho mein kya karu? agar usko chilana hai
tho uski massi pe chilayy mujh par kyun? mein kuch kehe nehi rahihoon
iska matlab yeh nahi ki voh mujhe har baath ke liye daate ya mujh par chilaay.
let him come to the room i will show him what can i do so that he will think
two times before shouting on me like that

Downstairs

hearing jai shouting and seeing bani running to her room jigs and rano are about
to go to bani, and uday and adi to talk to jai about what's wrong and why
he is behaving like that but massi stops them and moves towards jai's study

nachiket: bhabhi kaha bhi tha shayad bhaiyaa ko pasand nahi ayega par app ne usse
zabardasthi bhejha( looking towards krishna) , dekh usko ruladiyana ab

adi : ha bani do saal se jai ke saat reharahi hai to ussko pata hi hoga jai kaisa react
karega. tabhi tho mana kiya khana lekar jana ki, par massi... shayad massi ko
bura na lage issliye lekar gayi hogi. lekin e jai ko kya hogaya?

ranveer: ha vahi tho why did jai bhai shouted like that?

jigg: ha, lekin aaj jai kuch upset bhi lagraha tha. koi pareshani hai kya office mein?

adi: nahi tho

uday:(anger)voh sab chodo, lekin yeh koi tarika huwi apni biwi se baat karneki?
utni unchi awaaz mein usspar chillaneke kya jaroorath hai?


krishna: (worried) uday dont get anger. didi gayi haina jai se baat karne ke liye

In the study:

massi storms in and shouts on jai who is standing near the window and looking
outside with his back towards massi

massi: yeh kya tarikha hai munna apni patni se baat karnekha?

jai remains silent

massi: aur uss ne aisa kya kardiya ki tum uss par itna chilaya? khana hi tho layi tumare
liye voh bhi meri zabrdasti pe. bechari mujhse kaha shayad tumhe accha
nahi lagega agar zjor kiya tho, mein hi nahi suni(sad)

jai is surprised to know that massi perssurised bani to take food for him. he just got
irritated and shouted on bani thinking that she is acting as his real wife.
even if she did what can he do because she is his wife according to her and his
family.

massi: munna mein tum se baat kar raha hoon, dewaroon se nahi

he turns around and looking at massi says

jai: sorry massi

massi: mujhe sorry kehne se kya hota, jakar usse kaho jisspe tum bewaja chilayya

saying so massi leaves the room, goes downstairs and orders tony to clean the study

PART 13


Jai realises what he had done and he felt miserable with his behavior
towards bani. he walks into the livingroom to say sorry to bani. but he dint find her
there instead sees his whole family glaring at him. avoiding them and there looks
jai asks tony who came there to serve the dessert to the family about bani

tony: sir, bani madam is in ur room upstairs

sighing he climbs the stairs and goes towards his room. he is surprised to find the
door to be locked from inside. he understands she is angry on him. afterall why
wont she? he knocks on the door and says

jai: bani, open the door

silence

jai: bani i am sorry. plz open the door

silence

jai: bani i am saying i am sorry. atleast now plz open the door

now the silence worries jai about her. various thoughts crosses his mind at a time
he prays to god that she doesn't do anything in anger

jai: bani

jai: bani....bani.......

jai: (worried and shouting)Bani dont be stubborn. If you don't open this door now,
I'll break it down. And believe me, I will. bani r u listening?

meanwhile the family members who r down listening to jai comes up worried
about bani. hearing the door open they stay some distance away from their room

bani opens the door slowly and sees jai standing out of the door . seeing bani
opening the door jai says

jai: bani i am........

but he stops talking seeing bani throwing a pillow on his face and closing the door
again loudly with a bang

he is shocked and surprised at bani's behaviour

jai: bani what is this?

silence

jai: bani what do u mean by this and what am i supposed to do with pillow?

bani: get lost, i dont want u in my room mr.walia.

jai: what the hell? bani open the door (he bangs on the door loudly)

bani: no

jai: bani dont forget this room belongs to me also

saying this jai looks around him to see the whole family standing at distance.
while the elder people are surprised at bani behaviour , the youngsters are
obviously laughing at his state.feeling embrassed to be kicked out of his own
room, jai this time says soflty

jai: bani listen i am sorry. now please open the door. All are seeing this way. what
they will think of us?

silence

jai: bani are u listening to me. plz open the door and let me in.

bani: (firmly) no.

jai: bani( sternly)

bani: now u are feeling bad that all are seeing? there are also there listening
when u shouted on me back in the study. do u think i dint fell bad then?
ofcoure i did.

jai: (irritated) bani r u trying to take revenge for that? dont be silly

bani: Mr.walia plz i am tired and i want ot sleep peacefully. u also better go and sleep

jai: goddammit bani! where will i sleep other than my room

bani: how am i supposed to know? its ur wish. sleep where ever u want except in
this room

saying so she goes to washroom to change, while jai on the other side gets tired
by knocking on the door and getting no response.

he looks towards his family who remained as silent speculators watching them.

jai: (angry and frustated about the situation he shouts on them) what are u all seeing
ha! go and sleep

ranveer: (smiling)ha ha we r all leaving but....

jai: but what?

aditya: (smiling) where will u sleep jai? u can't go to ur bedroom as bani dont want
u there. ab kya karoge?

jai: (irritated) i will do whatever i wish and sleep wherever i want.what's ur problem

nachiket: ha bro u r right. what problem we will have. we had our own bedroom
and unlike u we can sleep in there on our big bed happily. now all of us
lets move. bro will do something for his sleeping arrangments. he will sleep
where ever he want or even he will stand outside his room all the night
saying sorry to bani bhabhi.Right bro?

jai: Nachiket !

all laughs listening to this, while jai frowns. massi feels bad for jai and says to nachiket

massi: nachiket now stop teasing him. as it is he is feeling miserable and on the top
of that u r making him more angry.

rano: did we told him to shout on banidi. he shouted on her unnecessarily so got
punishment. she must have felt very bad

jigs: why wont she rano. jai is always scolding her or shouting on her that too on no
fault of hers

jai becomes sad listening to this and thinks to himself

jai: (himself) u are right di. i am scolding and shouting on her with no fault of
her. but what can i do..... i cant avoid it. i dont want things to get more complicated
rather than i had done

krishna: enough is enough now all of u go to your rooms. jai u also go and sleep.
i think u can sleep in the guestroom as karan isn't there as anyway the
other rooms need to be have cleaned as they r closed for long time. so
go and sleep in karan's room. ok

jai: no ma. i will use study for tonight

krishna: but beta guestroom is there na

jai: (hesitatantly)ha ma but karan will come early in the morning and if see
me there sleeping in his room then.......

krishna: then..........

nachiket: mom undertsand bro doesn't want karan bhai to know that bani bhabhi
kicked him put of his room, because if it happens then bro will hear no
ending to his teasing

krishna: (smiling) ok beta as u wish. go sleep its already late

jai is about to turn and go with the pillow in his hand when he hear

nachiket,adi,ranveer: gudnight. have a happy and peaceful sleep

uday: (sternly)now all of u enough of joking and teasing. go and sleep

smiling all move towards their respective rooms while jai move towards the study
near his room and to sleep their for that night .

here in the room after changing to her nightdress bani sits on the bed and thinks
whether she did good by not allowing jai into room. she feels sorry for jai and is
about to go and call him but stops thinking how how shouted on her unnecessarily.
she sleeps thinking that if she still feels bad for him tomorrow then she would
say sorry.

At sometime in the midnight Bani begins to twirl around in her sleep, her face
growing sweaty

An image of three girls comes into Bani's mind, but very blury, making it difficult
to make out how they look and where they are?

a girl who is wearing a shot skirt and alter neck top asks the other two girls one
who is reading a novel intrestingly and other shaping her nails

"yaar today is holiday why dont we go to any hotel for dinner and hten to a pub? i
am feeling bore sitting here"

"No thanks, always pubs and movies? i am bored, why dont u think about some
thing new?there should be some enjoyment, always same boring films same pubs ",
the girl who is reading the novel says without looking up from the book

"what always new new? i dint understand one thing why do u get quickly and easily
bored by all the things we do? we always watch a new movie and in the pub we will
see different people with different tastes. u know last sat when we went there do u
remember the tall and gudlooking guy who talked with me the whole night what's
him name.......(thinking) leave his name i amn't able to remember, he told me that
i am very handsome and while dancing he told me that he want to meet me there
in the same pub this week (feeling shy).........because he wanted to say something
and i am so excited thinking what he might say(dreaming)

"i think may be he is foolish or trying to make u a fool , and one more thing no girl
will be handsome but will be beautiful or pretty. and even if he wanted to say something
what's the need to wait for the next week he could have said to u then and there only"
the girl reading the novel comments

the girl frowns at this and says "why u always think on negative side always pointing
at other mistakes. he is not like what u think of him. may be felt shy at that time"

she roll her eyes and concentrates on reading her book

the girl sighing says " yaar i can't sit alone, i had to go somewhere now and out of
this place"

seeing her shaking her head( novel wali), she continues

"plz yaar i will die out of boredom if i sit here for somemore time here like this. plz
show some mercy on ur friend"

the girl who is shaping her nails says, " and here i am feeling sorry for the person
she (pointing towards the novel wali) is going to marry"

why? the other girl(short skirt) asks

" what do u mean by why? its because if she gets bored by him then she will leave
him also"

"BECHARA!" both say at a time laughing while the other(novel wali) frowns

the novel wali sulking says " u two shutup. u should feel happy that i dint get bored
of u two till now. otherwise i would had left u also" saying that she leaves to the .
room taking her book along with her and bangs the door shut.

feeling bad about upseting their friend the two girls move towards the door, knocks
on the door and says

"sry we r just teasing u. why so much angry on such a small thing" and says to the other
girl " u say small thing "

the other girl (short skirt)" ha baba we r sry and let me say onething the guy who
will marry u will be the most lucky person because u are very gud at heart and
always wants others to be happy. right (she asks the other girl)

"right and above that u are very handsome sry i mean very beautiful and pretty"

" u know it would be a love at first sight"

"and he will do anything for u"

"because he will be madly in love with u"

they stop hearning no response from her and thinking it is not working they say
simultaneously

"bani, bani r u listening. we r really sorry for what we said now plz forgive us and
come outside"

the door opens, and the two girls are surprised to see her perfectly ready to go
out.

she smiling says" now enough u two, u had already said a lot about my Mr.Perfect,
now go and get ready girls, we r already late. tum logon ko bahar jana nahi hai kya?"

laughing and jumping the two girls hug her and then hurries to go out to a pub

PART 14

Bani's eyelids fly open and she sits up in bed in a haste. She wipes off her sweat
from her face.
finding difficulty in breathing she getsup from the bed and drinks a glass of water
after sometime she feels relaxed and starts to think about the dream

bani: kaisa sapna hai yeh? and who r those girls? why they r taking my name.....
if i am one among the three girls then who r the two other girls? i can't even
remember the girls face excatly. who r they? did i know them or do they know
me? why can't i remember anything?

she sits there for some more time thinking about the dream. getting frustated on
not remembering anything she leaves the matter thinking she will think about it
later. she dint feel like going back to sleep. she sees the time its only 4 in the
morning,she turns towards the couch to see jai but is surprised to see it empty,
thinking where he might had gone this early she remembers the happenings of
yesterday.

she decides to have a shower first as she is fully drenched in the sweat and then
go to see where jai is and where he had slept whole night. taking a dress from
the cupboard she goes into the washroom. after 45min she comes out of her room
neatly dressed in a long white skirt and light pink top and she goes towards karan's
room thinking that jai might had slept there as karan isn't there the whole night.
she is surprised to find the room empty and starts to think where he might be.

suddenly she remembers something and moves towards the study. she is sure if
he is not in the guest room he will in the study. she opens the door slowly and finds
him sleeping on the couch uncomfortably. she see's that he is shivering from the cold
wind coming from the windows of the study. she closes the windows and goes to their
room and brings a blanket and covers him with it. she adjust the pillow under his head
properly. she feels bad for making him sleep in the study whole night. she affectionately
places her hand his head and extendes her hand to push back the lock of hair which
covered his forehead….

she thinks he is looking cute and adorable while sleeping,so relaxed. she sees
him for sometime before going out she bends down and kisses him on his forehead
and smiling comes out of the room and closes the door behind her. she turns to
go to her room as it is very early to go down and everyone in the house must be
sleeping, but is shocked to see massi standing along with krishna near the study
door and both the ladies are smiling at her.

The two ladies have been up and on there way to do there prayers and then to
prepare breakfast for the family. they are on there way to go down when they saw
bani coming out of her room and is searching for jai. and before they could say jai
is in study she herself went in there. they saw her bring blanket from her room and
covering jai with it. and trying to make him comfortable for his sleep. they felt
happy seeing bani taking care of jai.

bani: (surprised) aunty aap yaha?

maussi: (smiling) what happend beta why r u surprised on seeing us here?

bani: no no aunty nothing like that. its just that u r up so early

krishna: we will always be up by this time beta to do our prayers and to prepare
breakfast

bani: oh

maussi: but why r u up so early?

bani: ji me! oh i amn't able to sleep properly last night

mausi: (smiling) kyun? jai isn't there that's why?

bani blushes hearing this even though it isn't the real reason and she can't tell them
about her dream

bani: no no.its not like that

maussi: (teasing) is it not like that? then why u r searching for jai early in this
morning? already missing him?

bani: (embarassed) no no aunty i amn't searching for him.

maussi: then what r u doing in study this early?

bani: ji study! oh i was seeing the room

maussi: (smiling) seeing the room? but we saw u looking at jai in there!

bani is surprised to know that they had watching her with jai in there. blushing
she bends her head and dint say anything

krishna: didi leave the poor girl. as it is she turned red

maussi: what's there to feel shy in this he is ur husband, u had every right to scold
him or to look at him

laughing the two leave downstairs to do their work. bani not knowing what to do
leaves to her room thinking she will wait for jai in the room till he wakes up and
then say sorry for making him to stay away from his room.

after one hour jai enters his room, feeling relieved that the door isn't locked.
he looks in the direction of his bed expecting to find bani sitting there and waiting
for him as she does always , wating for him to freshup so that they can together go
downstairs to have breakfast

but is surprised to find it empty, he turns towards the couch and finds it also to be
empty. thinking where she might gone this early he eyes fell on the rocking chair
where bani is sitting facing towards the window.

he goes infront of her and is about to say something he sees that she is sleeping.
he thinks that she looks like a child while sleeping soo innocent and peaceful
he sets the strands of her hair behind her ear which are falling on her face,
disturbing her sleep. he looks at her lovingly for sometime. he dint had a heart to
wake her up from her deep sleep. so he decides to get ready first and then wake
her up.

thinking this he left to have shower. after 20min he came out of shower and sees
bani up from her sleep and is standing near the window looking a little upset.

hearing the bathroom door open bani turns around and looks at jai and says

bani: when did u came in to the room, i dint hear u?

feeling relieved that she forgotted last nights matter and is talking to him, he smiling
says

jai: when i came into the room u are sleeping. so i thought of having shower and then
wake u up, but u r up before i came out

bani smiles lightly hearing this, while jai continues to get ready.

bani contemplates on whether to tell him about her dream or not, but finally
decides not ot tell him. he already seems upset from last night and she dint want
him to be more upset with her new problem. she thinks that she will talk to karan
about this as he is her doctor and may be he can help her, and can say what the
dream meant

after getting ready jai turns around and is about to say something to bani but notices
her to be in deep thoughts

jai: bani

no response

jai: bani

bani: (coming out of her thoughts) huh

jai: what happened? what r u thinking?

bani: me? nothing

jai: bani what happened? u seemed to be upset?

bani: (smiling) nothing at all

jai: (sighing) if u say so. but if there is something that is worring u definetly tell me
ok

bani: ofcourse. i will

jai: ok. now shall we move downstairs for breakfast

bani: (smiling) ya

before they can move out of there room bani holds his hand and stops him from
moving further

jai: kya huwa?

bani: voh.. voh... i am sorry

surprised why she is saying sorry, he asks her

jai: but for what?

bani: voh because of me u had to sleep whole night in the study out of ur own room

jai: its ok bani

bani: ( sadly ) i dint know what got in me that i behaved soo foolishly that too infront of
ur whole family. what they will think of me? they will think that u married a
girl who dint care about u and makes u sleep out of ur room for whole night.
they all will be upset with my behaviour towards u. i was soo angry that i
dint think about all this at that time. i am really sorry

by the time she completes saying what she wants to say she had tears running
down her cheeks. jai smiling holds her face between his palms and says softly

jai: bani i should be the one who had to say sorry not u. its my mistake that i shouted
at u with no fault of yours and its right that u got angry and anyone in your place
will get. and dont worry about the family they wont think anything bad about u
and moreover they will support u for what u had done. so stop worrying about
that. ok

bani: (crying) but i should have done like that. how i am going to face them?

She said throwing her arms around him. Jai, although surprised, closed his arms
around her holding her tight against him.

jai: bani dont think too much, they will not say a thing to u. and if they i will talk

they instantly moves apart from each other hearing nachikets voice and regaining
himself jai says to nachiket

jai: dont u think u always choose the wrong time to bargin

nachiket : what to do bhai, ma told me to call u guys for breakfast as u r late and all
r waiting for two to come

jai : you go down , we will come in 5min

nachiket : (smiling) will 5min be enough bhai, bcoz seeing u guys.......

jai: (serious) nachiket

nachiket: ok ok. u guys come soon

after nachiket left the room, jai looks at bani and says

jai: bani

As Bani looked up with wide innocent eyes,

jai: ab neeche chale

bani: but....what if...they are angry on me and

jai cuts her in middle and says

jai: now bani no but's or if's

saying so he holds her hand and takes her with him outside the room and then to
breakfast table
