Chapter 17

Mayank was back now. 😃 It had been a week since he was back. Mayank, Nupur and Gunjan had planned to go out for a movie together.
However, Mayank wasn't well and he had to cancel the program.

At the Mehra Residence:

Nupur went to Mayank's room where he was lying on the bed with his hand on his forehead.

Nupur: Mayank? You okay?
Mayank: Kinda.
Nupur: Huh?
Mayank: Nupur . . err . . I have brain tumor.
Nupur: Brain what? 😲
Mayank: Tumor. And I need to be operated as soon as possible.

Nupur had tears brimming out of her eyes. She knew not what was she supposed to say. Was she supposed to support him, stand by him or comfort her own self? 😭 She asked him if he was joking but no, he was telling her the very truth. And he indeed was getting operated.

Mayank: Nupur, you know . . it's just because of Dad. He wants me to get the operation done. The success rate is very low and therefore I know I'm gonna die either way. It's better, we end it on a happy note.

Nupur slapped him hard and said, "You are not going to die. And Uncle's doing the right thing. Believe me. You'd be fine. Absolutely." And saying so, she hugged him. He could feel his T-shirt getting wet. 😭 "HEY . . mujhe kamm aur tumhe zyada farak pad raha hai . . come on Nupur . . it's okay! Tumne bol diya ki main theek ho jaunga toh main pakka theek ho jaunga. I trust you. The most." he said and gave her a big smile.

After A Week -

Mayank was admitted in the hospital the very next day he told everything to Nupur and Gunjan. Gunjan and Nupur had faith in God and moreover, they knew their Mayank was a complete fighter. He'd fight back death for his loved ones. Prithvi and Damini, Mayank's elder brother and his wife had come to India now.

In Mayank's room -

Prithvi and Nupur went to Mayank's room while Gunjan and Damini were already sitting there.

Mayank: Hey bhaiya!! (He hugged his brother. 😊)
Nupur: Mayank . . kaisa hai?
Mayank: Fantastic! Duffer . . mera operation hai shaam ko . . main kaisa hounga?
Nupur: Abhi toh kaha . . fantastic. 😆

Gunjan and Damini were talking. Damini asked her if Nupur was his girlfriend. "Not again!! Nahi Bhabhi . . Nupur's his best friend. Uski girlfriend main hun." she clarified. "Umm! You guys are something . . I must say! Itne crucial time pe bhi tum teeno itne chilled out kaise ho?" she asked. "Bhabhi . . we know our Mayank and we believe in God. Use kuch nahi hoga. Hume pata hai." 😊

Uday and Samrat were sitting in the cafeteria of the hospital.

Uday: So, how's life?
Samrat: Pathetic! 😆
Uday: Huh?
Samrat: Aisa hi hota hai jab ye kambakht ishq peeche pad jaata hai!! 🤣
Uday: Accha?
Samrat: Haan

"The Excelians are mad. Mayank loves Gunjan as well as Nupur. Nupur loves Mayank. Gunjan loves Mayank, Samrat loves Gunjan and half the college is mad about Nupur but she is mad about her best friend. Main pagal ho jaunga." he thought. 😆

August 9, 2009 :

Mayank was to propose Gunjan for marriage. Mayank was now absolutely fine. The operation was successful. Prithvi and Damini stayed back. Damini was a half Indian half American and that is why Mr. Mehra opposed their marriage but now everything was okay. 😊 Nupur was helping him out. Nupur had realized that no matter how long she keeps hoping, Mayank won't ever be with her . . never. And he and Gunjan really loved each other. But just like before, the relationship she and Mayank shared was beyond friendship . . beyond love . . leaving the world and the regular things behind . .they had a relationship difficult to define. And Mayank? Well . . he was sure he loved them both equally. Though, Gunjan was the love of his life. He really loved her. Gunjan was now sure about what she wanted from life and what she wanted . . was the guy she LOVED, Mayank. Samrat had to move on, he figured out that they were not meant to be.

It was Mayank and Gunjan's big day. It was the day of their engagement.

Nupur was helping Mayank do up his hair. 😆 Whether to apply gel or leave it undone or something! 🤣

Just when Nupur was about to leave, Mayank clutched her hand . . made her sit on the bed and sat next to her. "Nupur . . " he said with moist eyes. "Bol bey! Kya hua?" she said. 😆 "Be serious!" he said. "OHKAY! Bolo bhi ab." she said smiling. "I'm sorry!" he said. She knew why was he sorry. "Bass karo!! Har kisi ko apna pyaar nahi milta na. Aur jo nahi mila wo tumhara tha hi nahi. Ye humne maanlia. And you dun have to worry about it. Sab love stories pure nahi hote lekin tum dono ki love story puri hogi and you're both lucky . . very lucky! Aur main? Main bilkul theek hun. Em good." she said. They kept quiet.

"Ab kuch bol do, else I'd end up crying!" Nupur said, almost in tears. "Can I have a hug?" he asked, already crying. "No!" she said. "Please!" Mayank insisted.

Nupur hugged him tight. As tightly as ever. And now this was it . . the ending of her first love and the beginning of her best friends new life. 😊

Mayank and Gunjan exchanged rings. Nupur was indeed very very happy. "Well . . no matter what . . first love is bloody first love." she said to herself, slapped her forehead slightly, smiled and moved forth. Just then, she bumped into a guy and was about to fall down when he caught her by the wrist and asked if she was okay . . 😳

"Mayank!!!!" someone shouted. And the guy left Nupur's hand, made her stand and left and said, "coming!"

"Ye bhi Mayank!" she said. 😲

i think i am first to comment but really what a part yaar mayank and gunjan ke engagement amazing now who is that guy well what else is stored in your jaddi ka pitara update soon
