Part-19:
Mayank had never imagined even in the worst of his nightmares that life could turn out to be so bad for one his best mates...In college, Mayank and Samrat were more or less like brothers...the two were the hunks of Excel!!!They were both always adored by all girls in college...but Samrat had changed alot ever since a girl came to his life...strange, Mayank had never known Gunjan by her name..he met her many times though but he knew her by the name Samrat used to address her with:"Chashmish..."
Samrat Shergill was one of those few people on earth who knew Mayank more than he knew himself...whether Mayank said it or not, Samrat knew what was in Mayank's heart...and Mayank loved him for being there...
When Ridhimma had told Mayank about Samrat and Gunjan's story, for a second, it did remind him of his friend but then he knew that there wasn't just one Samrat in the big world!!!Strangely, this BIG world did indeed become too small today....he felt so bad and so hurt that he couldn't stand by Samrat when he needed him the most...
Nupur finally placed her hand on his shoulder and asked:"Kia hoa Mayank?"
Mayank looked at her for a moment and then looking away said:"Samrat Shergill....mera best friend....main ne kabhi nahi socha tha k ye Samrat mera hi best friend hoga...aur Gunjan...uski chashmish..."
Nupur noticed the tear Mayank was trying to hide but it reluctantly came down his cheek....
She cupped his face and he looked at her with teary eyes...he put his head on her shoulder and Nupur knew he was crying...!!!

Strolling around the corridors of Sanjeevani, Armaan gave a quick look inside Ridhimma's cabin but he didn't seem to find her there too. He wondered if she had left without telling him because he looked for her everywhere he could spot her. Finally, he gave a sigh of relief when he saw her inside the locker room with her back turned to him. He walked towards her as silently as possible and caught her from back. Ridhimma took a moment to understand it was Armaan. Meanwhile, Armaan wrapped his arms around her and resting his chin on her shoulder said:"Madam...kia aap ko zara sa bhi andaaza hai k aap ka ek bechara boyfriend bhi hai jo kab se aap ko pagaloon ki tarah dhoondh raha hai..?Kia hoa?Meri yaad nahi aa rahi thi kia?"....When she didn't respond, he moved his head and turned her around to make her face him. That was the moment Armaan saw something, he most despised..his biggest enemy...her tears!!!Armaan gave a look of concern to Ridhimma who was still silently weeping trying not to look at him.
A:"Ridhimma..??Ridhimma...kia hoa?" For once, Ridhimma wiped her tears and looking at Armaan said:"Kuch nahi.."
But Armaan knew her more than she knew herself....she was about to leave when he caught her hand and just looked into her eyes...this time his eyes asked the question and she said:"Armaan..mujhe..mujhe Nupur ki bohat fikar ho rahi hai.."
A:"Usko wahan kaam hai na Ridhimma....usse Gunjan se kia wada poora karna hai naa...aur phir Mayank bhi toh hai na us k paas.."
R:"Lekin main toh nahi hoon naa wahan...main achi behen nahi hoon..."
A:"Aisa nahi hai Ridhimma...main tumhein kaise samjhaon?Look...wahan Nupur ka khayaal rakhne k liye sab log hai...tumhari poori family hai wahan...."And then smiling to himself said in a comical tone:"Aur phir Bui bhi toh hain wahan....aur jahan Bui ka raj ho wahan agar koi un k ghar ki betiyoon ko pareshaan kare toh for sure uski maut hi aayi hogi naa..."
At this, Ridhimma gave a chuckle and as if forgetting her present worry said:"Tum aaj bhi nahi bhoole naa?"
A:"Huh...Nahi...CBI Bui ko kaun bhool sakta hai...??"
And then their mind wandered off to those days of their past in Shimla...
Ridhimma and Armaan were doing their internship in Sanjeevani in Mumbai. But since, all Ridhimma's relatives and some of Armaan's people were in Shimla, their engagement was decided to be done in Shimla. The two arrived there two days before the engagement. The two looked forward to spending alot of time with each other but then those two poor souls didn't know that at Shimla awaited Bui...according to Bui, the girl and guy shouldn't meet or see each other's face before engagement. All day long "CBI Bui"(as Armaan named her) made sure the two didn't see each other but then Armaan was Armaan!!!Late at night, Armaan went to Ridhimma's room....knocked at the door....she surely couldn't argue with him at the door so she pulled him inside and said:"Armaan tum bhi na..Bui dekh leti toh..??"
A:"Don't worry sweetheart...unho ne nahi dekha.."
R:"Par tum yahan kar kia rahe ho?"
At this, Armaan placed his hand on Ridhimma's shoulders and said:"Aap ki yaad mein devdas bante bante reh gaya...aap ki yaad yahan kheech layi..."
R:"O really?!Aap ko pata hai...agar Bui ko pata chala k aap yahan hain toh wo bhi aap k kaan KHEECHENGI??"
A:"Very funny...yar...aisa lag raha hai hum log jail mein hain..bas ab main yahan se nahi jaa raha...Bui aaye toh aa jaye...main nahi darta!!"
Just then there was a knock at the door...and came Bui's voice:"Ridhimma...darwaaza khol..."
At this Armaan's eyes were wide open and he said:"CBI Bui reporting to duty??!Aaj night duty pe bhi hai kia??Mar gaye...ab main...kia?Kahan?"
That night, Armaan was somehow saved by hiding in the washroom...
The two had a nice laugh over those past memories...and then Armaan looked at her and said:"Statue...!!!Hamesha aise hi raha karo...achi lagti ho..!!"
And Ridhimma, she was no longer anxious...and it could be only Armaan who could always make her feel so good....She hugged him and he returned it back with the same warmth...
