The priest seemed to have droned on for eternity. If anyone asked him, he wouldn't be able to recall anything that had happened after his bride-to-be made her stunning appearance. He supposed it didn't matter too much as long as he said what he was supposed to when he was supposed to and made the appropriate actions correctly and on time.
He heard his name and he dragged his focus to what the priest was saying. "Rhiddima Gupta, do you take Armaan Malik to be your lawful wedded husband?"
"I do." She smiled at him. Hai Rab she's beautiful…
"Do you promise to love and cherish him, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer," Armaan wrinkled his nose then smirked as Rhiddima bit back a laugh, "for better, for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him, for so long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Her smile was wider this time. Focus, don't think about anything, just listen to the words…
"Armaan Malik, do you take Rhiddima Gupta to be your lawful wedded wife?"
"I do," he answered, his voice strong and assured despite his wandering mind.
"Do you promise to love and cherish her, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer," she raised a finely shaped eyebrow and copied his smirk when he didn't make a face this time, "for better, for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"Do you together promise in the presence of your friends and families, that you will at all times and in all circumstances, conduct yourselves toward one another as Husband and Wife?"
"We do," they replied in unison.
"Do you together promise you will love, cherish, and respect one another throughout the years?"
"We do."
"Then I hereby pronounce you Husband and Wife." Armaan wasn't even listening as the priest told him he could kiss his wife. At last…He leaned down and captured her lips in his. After a few moments she began to smile and he pulled back slightly with a questioning look. She giggled and nodded her head towards the Priest and then at the audience who were clapping and cheering with a few cat calls from the Gupta and Malik family members. He rolled his eyes and she laughed again.
After a couple of hours of celebration Armaan was ready to leave and spend some 'quality time' with his new wife, but the guests seemed intent on keeping them there for the rest of the evening. Each time another person would approach them to congratulate them and talk endlessly about pointless and mundane things, Rhiddima would laugh as Armaan grimaced and ground his teeth in frustration.
"Finally!" Armaan sighed as he and his new wife left the celebrations to their friends and made their way to their private wing of Malik Mansion.
"You sound as if you didn't enjoy the ceremony and celebrations," the new Mrs. Malik teased.
"Absolutely not," Armaan replied with an air of arrogance, "I'm finally allowed to do what I want to you whenever I want," he said with a smirk.
"Oh, I do believe you misheard, Mr. Malik," Rhiddima replied imitating his smirk, "I believe that ceremony gave me exclusive rights to do what I want with you."
"You keep telling yourself that, Mrs. Malik," Armaan grinned as they entered their suite.
With a flourish, he spun her into a kiss.

A few hours later Rhiddima was asking questions about their destination for the next two weeks. They had moved from the bed to the couches, where Rhiddima was sitting with her feet propped up and Armaan's head in her lap. Armaan just smirked and refused to respond to her questioning.
"If you won't tell me where we're going, then at least tell me what I should bring," she tried. He snorted.
"But that would spoil the surprise.," he added looking up at her face and kissing her pout.
They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes before Rhiddima spoke up again. "You know, we should both be sleeping like the dead, but I'm not the least bit sleepy."
"Why do you say we should be that tired?"
"Well, I know that I had trouble sleeping last night, then my friends got me up before the sun this morning, and now it's nearing two in the morning."
"So what are we going to do for the next seven hours before we can leave for this mystery place?" Armaan looked up at her and gave her a sly grin. She rolled her eyes. "You're so unoriginal," she laughed.
"Fine then," he muttered sitting up. Rhiddima opened her mouth, but Armaan smiled and gave her a soft kiss. "I wasn't planning on doing this tonight…actually I hadn't planned on any specific time of doing this, but since we've got time, and you don't seem up to another round—" Rhiddima opened her mouth in protest, but Armaan continued with a smirk, "—this seems like a good enough time."
"Hey, I never said I wasn't up to 'another round,' I was merely stating that you don't like to be so clich, and I also didn't want embarrass you because your stamina wouldn't be up to scratch after such a short rest," she replied sweetly.
Armaan's smirk widened as he turned back and gave her a quick passionate kiss, then swiftly pulled away before she could deepen it. "Have no fear for my performance, Mrs. Malik. She laughed as he walked to the desk and began searching for something. "And you are right that I'd hate to be so clich," he said glancing over his shoulder at her and she grinned in triumph. He got up and put the radio on.
They began talking about random things as the music played. They talked about the ceremony, Armaan admitting that he hadn't paid much attention after seeing her in her dress, which she admitted wasn't as uncomfortable as she had thought it was going to be, and they laughed at the priest who didn't remember the changes they had wanted in their vows and his long-winded speech.
They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments just listening to the music play. Armaan smiled while listening to the music. He remembered again the moment he saw her walking down the aisle. Then later at the celebrations, everyone was waiting for their turn to dance with the bride. He hadn't gotten a chance to actually dance with his new wife after their first opening dance.
Suddenly he sat up causing Rhiddima to start in surprise. With a flourish and a bow, Armaan offered his hand to his new bride. "Would you care to dance, Mrs. Malik?" Rhiddima smiled as she took his hand.
They were slow-dancing in the middle of their room. Rhiddima was wearing a dark red negligee, a gift from her bride's maids, with her dark hair in loose curls around her. Armaan was similarly devoid of clothing except for his black boxer shorts. The sarcastic smirks and mischievous glint in their eyes were gone. Gone were the sarcastic remarks and affectionate teasing that the rest of the world knew to be part of their relationship.
Armaan could only stare at his wife as they unconsciously danced to the melodic tones of the song that seemed to describe them so well. Rhiddima smiled and laid her head on his shoulder as they continued to dance.
As the song faded out, Rhiddima barely heard him whisper in to her hair, "I love you."

After their very long honeymoon..........
"Welcome home, Mrs. Malik." Armaan said, stepping over the threshold into their Mansion with Rhiddima in his arms.
"Thank you, Mr. Malik." Rhiddima replied, feeling quite foolish to be carried. Nonetheless, she pecked him on the cheek as he set her on her feet.
Armaan, immediately began kissing her neck.
"Not now, Armaan," Rhiddima said sitting up. "Ma's expecting us for lunch."
"Maybe they will just think we're stuck in traffic?" Armaan said hopefully.
"Right. "They will know what we are really doing." Rhiddima rolled her eyes.
"So? We're married- we can do whatever we want." Armaan continued to kiss her collar bone.
"Armaan…" Rhiddima sighed as she playfully pushed her husband away. "You know our friends and family are going to give us a hard time, even if we get there early."
Armaan just sat there pouting. Rhiddima smiled and grabbed his hand. "Later love," she kissed him briefly. "I promise."
Immediately upon entering the Gupta Residence, they were greeted with lots of hugs and kisses. Amidst the chaos, Rhiddima was vaguely aware of Rahul and Atul whispering about something. Assuming they were plotting some prank, Rhiddiam just rolled her eyes. When everyone finally calmed down, they were bombarded with questions.
"How was Hawaii?"
"Was the weather nice?"
"What sites did you see?"
Padma, Anjali, Muskaan and Nikita were crowded around Rhiddima, looking at pictures of their honeymoon. Meanwhile, Armaan stood off to the side with Rahul, Atul and Abhimanyu.
"You look pretty pale Armaan…" Atul said.
"I can tell you haven't left the room at all," Rahul continued, "Doesn't look like you got much sun."
"Um-" Armaan stammered, rubbing his neck nervously, "We used Lots of sun cream."
Rhiddima turned to see where Armaan was, and saw him awkwardly shifting from side to side while the rest of the men laughed at something. Poor Armaan, she thought. And then she saw it- an unmistakable red spot on his neck. Uh-oh. She looked back at her friends. That's what they are laughing about- and Armaan doesn't even know. Should I tell him? She tried to suppress a grin; unfortunately the damage was already done.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me I had a love bite on my neck!" Armaan said later that night, while examining his neck in the mirror.
"I didn't think it was that big of a deal," Rhiddima said, slipping on a nightgown. "Besides, by the time I noticed, everyone else had too." She slipped her hands around his torso and stood on her tiptoes to rest her chin on his shoulder.
"Yes, but -" The rest of his sentence was cut short as Rhiddima began kissing his neck.
"Are you criticizing my handiwork?" Rhiddima said, pouting in the mirror.
"What? No- I just-" There was a sharp intake of breath as she slipped her hands under his shirt, and began rubbing circles on his stomach.
"Well," Rhiddima said, slowly lifting his shirt up, "If you aren't complaining, then what are you doing?"
"I, um…" He paused, and looked at her in the mirror. She just smiled.
"Oh sod it." He said, turning around to kiss her soundly.
