Nupur's POV:

Ididn't talk for the rest of the day. I had never been called a monkey…and that too by a boy!! How dare he??!!

'Agar who mujhe dubaara milla na…'

I clenched my fists and slammed it on my desk in anger.

'Nupur Bhushan? Kya aap ko koi problem hai?'

Ms. Aha asked.

I blushed. I had completely forgotten that I was in the middle of class.

'Um. Jee nahi…woh…haat phisal gayya tha.'

I muttered. Ms. Aha stared suspiciously at me before continuring.

'Uh…huh. Ya… . Ab aap ki permission ho tho class shuru kar sakte hai?'

I slid back in my seat and pretended to be invisible.

The teacher turned her attention towards the rest of the students.

'Class? Aaj humaare saat ek naya student maujood hai.'

Mayank walked in flipping through a math textbook. I clenched my teeth.

'Yeh budhoo yahaan bhi aa gayya? Iska kuch tho karna padega by god.'

'Yeh hai Mayank Sharma. Yeh kal hi London se aaye hain. Welcome to Excell Mayank. Mujhe poora bharosa hai ke tumhe yahaan pe koi pareshaani nahi hogi. What say class?'

Some people snickered. Ms. Aha looked directly towards me.

'Nupur? Tumhaara kya khayaal hai?'

I faked a smile.

'Zaroor Ms. Aha! Main inhe aisa welcome doongi ke ye zindagi bhar nahi bhoolenge!'

I sneered. Oh yeah… . I would welcome him in such a way that he would have wished that he never set foot in Excell.

Ms. Aha smiled, onobservant of my mischievous glance.

'Gr8! Tho aap jaake Nupur ke saat behethiye.'

I leapt out of my seat in surprise and shock.

'No ways babes!'

I called to the teacher.

'Main iss sadoo ke saat kabhi nahi behethne waali! Chahe kuch bhi ho jaaye.'

Ms. Aha was just about to respond when Mayank growled and walked up to my seat. He slammed his math book down.

'Tumhaara aakhir problem kya hai? Pichle janam me koi drama ke heroine thi kya? Jab dekho drama karti rehti ho!'

I placed my hands on my hips.

'Oye!! Tumhaare brain me koi wiring defect hai kya? Ek ladki se tameez se kaise pesh aana chahiye, ye bhi pata nahi! Kis kissam ke ladke ho tum?!'

Mayank looked like he was going to burst with anger. Good for him.

'Pehle tum mujhepe chilaati ho, aur upar se tameez ke baat karti ho??'

I huffed at him.

" Jo bhi ho, main tumhaare saat nahi behthoongi.'

Ms. Aha cleared her throat loudly.

'Plz. Aap dono bahaar jayie. Agar aapko padneka koi shauk nahi hai, tho mujhe tum dono ko iss class me rakhne ki bhi koi diljaspi nahi hai. Bahaar jao, aur dubaara tab aana, jab aap logo me thoda sa sharm aa jaaye.'

I pushed back my hair and walked haughtily out of the room. If she didn't want to teach me, then fine. I didn't care. Mayank followed me out.

'Are u happy now?'

He asked.

'Pehle hi din me mujhe sharmindaa kar diya sab ke saamne.'

He stormed off, looking like he might start crying at any moment.

For the first time in my life, something happened deep inside my heart. A pain that I couldn't describe. It hurt to see him upset because of me. But why?? I'd known him for exactly one day! How could I get so emotional about him??? I rubbed my temples.

'Nupur? Tujhe ho kya gayya hai? Uss sadoo ke baareme itna kyun soch rahi hai?! Woh jo bhi feel kare…tujhe kya lena dena?'

Pehli baar…mujhe kuch hua. Pehli baar. Kya yeh koi ishaara tha? Shayad maine usse sach much buhot rudely baat ki thi. Par ab main kya karoon? As usual Nupur. Teri bewacoofi ke waja se ek aur buhot badi galti ho gayyi… ek minute. Galti???! Main kab se sochne lagi ke Mayank ke saat aisa kuch karna galat hai??? Yehi tho main chahti thi...hai na?
