Chp.7 Magical girl to the rescue.
"What was that?" asked Sohni.
"Looks like someone has been injured, let's find out," replied the girl. They entered the bushes slowly but swiftly and saw a man lying there. He was around 6.5', dark black hair and a perfectly chiseled face. Quite handsome, the girl thought.
"Oh oh, looks like we've got a victim of snake bite," said Sohni.
She showed the wound to her friend. "Sure a snakebite, and its fresh," said her friend.
The snake had bitten the man on his arm, right near the shoulder. "We need to stop the venom before it spreads through the body, Sohni arrange for the herbs as soon as possible to fight this poison and Gudiya you get a knife, quick," she said.
Meanwhile, she unbuttoned the man's shirt. He had a perfect body, maintained through daily vigorous exercises. She removed his shirt and checked the wound, it was deep. She immediately took her dupatta and tore it. She tied it very tightly on either sides of the wound to stop the poison from circulating through the blood. Gudiya returned with a knife. "Here di, here's the knife," she said.
"Thanks Gudiya," the girl replied.
"Di now I must return, Amma must be waiting. If I'll be late she'll be worried," Gudiya said tensed.
"Ok, hurry up and take care of yourself," the girl replied.
"Bye di,'' Gudiya said and left.
She took the knife and slit the man's wound. It opened up and started bleeding profusely. She held the wound tightly and let the blood flow out. He was becoming pale due to the loss of blood and his breathing shallow. She hoped that Sohni would return with the herbs soon. They were very necessary to save this man. Her prayers were answered immediately and Sohni came rushing with the herbs. "Here, take these herbs and be quick. You've removed the poison?" she asked panting.
"Yeah, now I need to make a paste out of these herbs and apply it on the wound so that it heals quickly," the girl said. She picked a stone from nearby and started grinding the herbs with it and soon a paste like mixture was formed, she took it and gently applied it to the wound, then tied a strip from her dupatta over it. The herbs would start working soon, but the wound would take some time to heal. The man would regain consciousness in around 6-8 hours.
Abhimanyu had been waiting for over 3 hours now, but there was still no sign of kunwarji. He had constantly been trying to contact kunwarji but his cell was out of coverage area. He was getting worried by now so he decided to go in search of kunwarji. He left for the same direction where kunwarji had gone. Meanwhile, Sohni and her friend decided to take the man someplace where he could rest. They walked for some time and spotted a shack. Sohni and her friend slowly lifted the man and took him towards the shack. There was a cot in there, they laid him on it and Sohni's friend changed the dressing of the wound. His forehead was burning with fever. Abhimanyu treaded through the village in search of Kunwarji. He was worried about kunwarji. He kept on trying to contact kunwarji but still to no avail. Sohni too had gone back home. Her friend, however, was still by the man's side looking after him and caring for him.
Abhimanyu was walking through the bushes when suddenly he felt something yucky beneath his feet. He looked down and was horrified to see blood all around him. Oh God, please let kunwarji be safe, he thought. But suddenly something silver caught his eye. Damn! He thought. It was kunwarji's bracelet glistening in the setting sun. He felt as though his worst fears had been brought to life. What had happened to kunwarji? Where was he? He kept on walking, praying for kunwarji's safety.
The man was recovering faster than expected. He opened his eyes and looked around, he asked for water. The girl was overjoyed to hear his voice. She took a glass of water and slowly tilted his head and took the glass to his mouth. He took a sip from it and again slipped into unconsciousness. After an hour or so he again opened his eyes, he tried to take in his surroundings, but due to the loss of blood he felt weak and became unconscious again.
