"naina raam kuch pooch raha hai. Jawab do usay" dr.bhatiya said forcing her to speak.
"dr'dr bhatiya ap ye kiya'?" naina started confused.
"naina! Come with me" dr.bhatiya said and opened the door.
"dr? ap kahan le kar jarahe hain meri bivi ko?" raam asked suddenly getting impatient and worried.
"ek minute raam mujhe usse tumhare kuch papers sign karwane hain. Bas thodi si der main arahe hain hum"
"ye..ye sb kiya hai? Main uski bivi nahi hun" naina said stepping out of the room as dr.bhatiya closed the door behind them.
"main janta hun per or koi raasta nahi tha. Raam pagal horaha hai or usko sirf ap hi bacha sakti hain is sb se. I promise you if he proves to be dangerous with you I will not call you here again but till then atleast you can try!" dr.bhatiya tried to convince her.
"but dr he is'"
"I know. Ye sb uska make belief sense hai k ap uski bivi hain n all per phir bhi hosakta hai wo theek hojaye"
"to kiya socha ap ne?" dr.bhatiya asked trying to figure out her decisions from her expressionless and thought full face.
"main'"
"kuch der uskay sath waqt bitaye phir soch lijiye ga" dr.bhatiya made his own decision and opened the door.
"per main' mujhe kisi ko',: naina thought of telling yuvi about all this but then stopped that she hadn't told him of anything and now he would be angry with her that she came here, "nahi its ok' main chalti hun andar"
"thank you" dr.bhatiya said gratefully.
Dr.bhatiya went inside while naina followed him hesitatingly twitching her fingers and looking at the ground nervously.
"naina ao na betho yahan" yuvi was sitting on his bed and he patted at his side on the bed. Naina went forward na dsat down nervously beside him but kept her distance.
"itni door kiyun beth rahi ho?"
"raam tum kaise ho?" naina asked in an attempt to divert his mind.
"main theek hun tum batao? Kitne saalon baad mil rahe hain na hum?" naina looked up at him shocked.
"h'han" she said agreeing with him but her voice choked telling easily that she disagreed.
"shadi k baad ab mil rahe hain hum. Tumhain hamari shadi to yaad hai na naina ya wo bhi bhool gayi jaise mujhe bhool gayi?"
"n'nahi" she replied helplessly not knowing where he had gone and lost in his own world.
"dr.bhatiya apko yad hai humari shadi?" raam looked up at dr.bhatiya who stood in front of them.
"han raam mujhe yad hai sb. Naina bohat sundar lag rahi thi" dr.bhatiya replied with absolute sertainty.
"meri naina hai hi sundar" raam raised his hand and encircled his arm on her shoulder.
"kiya hua?" he asked as naina twitched suddenly and shrugged his hand off lightly.
"mujhe'mujhe lagta hai'" naina started to say that she thought she should go now when he interrupted suddenly.
"don't tell me k tumhain kuch yad nahi"
"nahi nahi mujhe yad hai sb" she said as she saw that raam was getting serious.
"to phir tum itne dino k liye kahan chali gayi thi?"
"main'main wo'" her mind went blank where there were always some lies to tell but now totally blank out of fear. Even the presence of dr.bhatiya didn't comfort her.
"batao naina tum kahan thi?"
"main' main maa papa k pas thi" she quickly thought of an excuse.
"kiyun? Tumhara pati to main hun na. mujhe yahan is hospital main chod kar tum apne maa papa k pas thi? Tumhain meri fikr bhi nahi hui?" he asked frowning.
"nahi aisi baat nahi hai'"
"to phir kaisi baat hai? Kiya tum mujhse kuch chupa rahi ho?" he asked again and naina looked at dr.bhatiya for some help but he only looked from raam to naina.
"dr saab ki taraf kiya dekh rahi ho? Mujhe dekho! Chupa rahi ho na" raam asked dangerously.
"raam tumhain' tumhain ghalat fehmi horahi hai. Dekho na main a to gayi hun tumhare paas" naina gained up her courage and said to him trying to calm him.
"ab ayi ho! Pehle kahan thi jab main tumhain bulata tha?"
"wo main' "
"BOLO NAINA!" he shouted suddenly and threw the crockery and bottles of medicine from the table making them crash on the ground and naina shook from head to toe by the look that transformed raam into a beast.
"raam! Raam calm down" dr.bhatiya came towards raam and held him by his shoulders while naina stood up slowly feariung that her legs wouldn't support her and she shook from inside.
"ap beech main mat boliye dr. ye mera or meri bivi ka maamla hai" raam warned dr.bhatiya.
"raam listen to me!" dr.bhatiya started again.
"I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO YOU! MUJHE naina se sunna hai k wo kahan thi jb mujhe uski zarurat thi" raam pushed away dr.bhatiya and he fell down and strode towards naina who gasped at the fall of dr.bhatiya and clasped her hand over her mouth.
"raam 'meri baat suno!" naina tried to stop him and retreated her steps as raam closed the difference and she collided with the wall.
"yes'yes m listening naina" raam said with wild intensity and nodded his head like a maniac and stepped even more closer to naina.
"m'm'main wo maa papa'" she stuttered as she couldn't speak.
"JHOOT! JHOOT BOL RAHI HO TUM! Such batao mujhe naina tum kis k sath thi? Tumhain yahi laga na k mera accident hogaya or main mar gaya?"
"ram aisa kuch nahi hai"
"TO PHIR KAISA HAI?" he kept shouting at her making her tremble and she couldn't speak out of fear.
"raam!" dr.bhatiya came forward as he stood up from the fall.
"bolo naina" raam slammed his fist on the wall just beside her and then suddenly held her upper arms tightly.
"raam usay chodo! Raam chodo usay" dr.bhatiya came forwad and held raam's wrists.
"bolo naina! Jaldi bolo" he asked her frantically while his hands tightened around her arms hurtfully and shook her violently.
"nurse!! I need your help" dr.bhatiya went to the door and called to the nurse who came back running.
"raam pls" tears of pain welled up in her eyes. She wanted to scream out of pain but her fear wouldn't let her.
"kis k saath thi tum?? Bolo"
"let her go raam" dr.bhatiya told him and a few ward boys entered as well and they held raam while the nurse prepared for his injections.
"she's my wife dammit I won't let her go and she can't go until she tell me the truth" the ward boys pushed him back from naina and took him to the bed while dr.bhatiya helped the nurse.
"CHODO MUJHE! LET ME GO! MUJHE MERI BIVI SE BAAT KARNI HAI! Dr.bhatiya ap to samajhiye, mera usse baat karna kitna zaruri hai" raam said franticlly and trying to get up wildly.
"dr.naina ap jayen yahan se!" dr.bhatiya said to a frozen naina.
"dr ap kiyun mujhe meri bivi se door bhej rahe hain. She needs me and I need her. I want my answers. I love her." Raam said pleadingly.
"dr. naina plss go" dr.bhatiya told her again but still she couldn't move. She hadn't sen his best friend like this. She wanted to help him but she feared him. She wanted him back as he was before but she feared him. She wanted to be there for him but she feared him. Fear was taking over all her emotions.
"naina!" a familiarly worried voice broke into her and she stirred back to life but didn't had the courage to move and look towards the face to which the voice belonged but she only felt the tug and then the arms that pulled her into a fierce hug.
"naina! Naina kuch bolo! Meri taraf dekho naina" she heard faint voice in her head but her eyes were fixed on raam who was now covered with wires, pins and nurses giving him injections while he was still shaking violently and the wardboys were trying to hold him still.
"chalo yahan se" a harsh voice broke into her and then the hand pulled her outside with a possessive arm around her shoulder. She only felt herself sitting down on a bench and the man hugging her from behind
Possessively and rocked her back and forth while rubbing her arms soothingly up and down.
"naina kuch bolo! Pls kuch to bolo"
"raam!" she said in a whisper as life came back inside her slowly and she felt protected. Yuvi placed his head on her shoulder and held her even more tightly and rubbed her arms more.
"yuvi! Wo raam' main yahan ayi thi'dr.bhatiya ne bulaya' wo keh raha tha' main bivi hun' dr.bhatiya ko pata tha' per raam to pagal hai' wo theek hai?" she tried to speak absently but yuvi understood every single word that she said and got what happened before he came.
"sshh naina! Sb theek hai kuch nahi hoga tumhain" he murmered to her and soothed her.
"wo mujh per chilla raha tha' dr.bhatiya ne bhi kuch nahi kaha' main ne to kuch nahi kiya tha"
"naina! Ssh meri baat suno! You are safe now. Main hun na kuch nahi hoga tumhain. Koi tumhain kuch nahi kahega koi kuch nahi karega. I'm sorry" he turned her to face him and cupped her face.
"tum kiyun sorry'?" she asked her voice shaking.
"kiyun k main ne ek baar phir tumhain akela chod diya"
"nahi yuvi' wo raam keh raha tha'" she started again turning to look at his door.
"naina sshh honey! Kuch nahi hua! Sb theek hai. Chup bas!" he turned her face towards him and hugged her again.
After a while the door of the ward opened and dr.bhatiya came out. Yuvi's eyes shot up to meet his confused gaze and he got up walking towards the dr as if he was going to kill him.
"kiya hai ye sb??"
"m sorry sir' I can explain" dr.bhatiya hesitated by the intensity in which yuvi asked and towered upon the dr.
"I don't need your bloody explanation. I'll sue you" yuvi pointed towards him.
"sir I thought she was someone of mature years but when I saw her she was too young'"
"and still you took her to that animal?? You'll see me in the court now"
"yuvi! Unki ghalti nahi hai" naina started in a weak and shaky voice. She tried to get up but she was still weak.
"naina tum chup raho. Aj tumhain kuch ho jata to? Main do minute or late hojata to?" yuvi turned to face her angrily.
"per kuch hua to nahi. It's ok dr." naina waved to dr.bhatiya to send him inside.
"I'm sorry naina. I knew he would react seriously but this much? I didn't know it."
"to kis naam k dr hain ap?" yuvi said shooting back his glare at him.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." Dr.bhatiya apologized again looking guilty.
"yuvi he's apologizing." Naina said to yuvi almost pleadingly, "It's ok dr."
"I don't wanna see or hear that man's name again. Got it?" yuvi pointed his index finger at dr.bhatiya reffering to raam, "Chalo naina" he ordered still glaring at dr.bhatiya and then went towards naina and held her by her shoulders gently and took her outside.
They were quiet all their way. As they stepped inside naina's house, yuvi sent her to her bedroom and went straight to the kitchen.
"lo ye piyo" he came back after a while holding a cup of hot green tea.
"yuvi tumhain dr se aise baat nahi karni chahiye thi" naina said after taking few sips of tea but her voice was still weak.
"or jo unhon ne kiya wo?" yuvi shot back while he stood beside the window with his one hand held out on the window frame and the other on his waist..
"unho ne mana na k unse ghalti hogayi"
"unkay ye maan lene se unse ghalti hogayi kiya tum'" yuvi trailed off and sighed.
"main kiya yuvi?" naina asked confused.
"agar tumhain kuch hojata to?"
"mujhe kiya hona tha?" she managed to smile at his concern.
"tumhara chehra main ne dekha tha naina! Zinda laash lag rahi thi tum jb main wahan aya to" yuvi turned to look at her face and walked towards her and sat down on his knees in front of her.
"yuvi'" she started to say something.
"or tum mujhe bataye baghair gayi" he said and held her other hand to his cheek and caressed it.
"ek minute' tumhain kaise pata chala k main wahan gayi?" she asked. Yuvi looked away slowly letting go of her hand.
"yuvi bolo tumhain kaise pata?" she asked again.
"main ne tumhare phone per number dekha tha wahan ka or main samajh gaya k tum raam k pas hi gayi ho" he looked up to meet her gaze but she got lost again.
"hmm"
"kiya hua?"
"kuch nahi"
"naina it's ok." Yuvi sat down beside her and held her by her shoulders. She broke into a hug with him and sobbed.
"yuvi raam! Wo mera dost hai"
"naina jo raam tumhara dost tha wo mar gaya hai. Ye raam wo nahi hai" he caressed her hair gently and talked to her soothingly.
"per usay main yad hun"
"bhool jayega tumhain bhi wo naina. Tumne uski halat dekhi na."
"per wo theek hosakta hai. Dr. ne kaha" she tried to convince him and herself.
"naina wo dr bhi jhoota hai or unki tasalli bhi" he said and held her back looking straight in her eyes and wiped her tears with his fingers,
"raam pagal ho chukka hai. Or agar abhi nahi hua to ab hojayega un sari medicines or injections ki wajah se"
"to phir to hamain unhain rokna chahiye na"
"nahi naina wo drs apne hisab se sb theek kar rahe hain. Per jo unhon ne tumhare sath kiya wo theek nahi tha" he said controlling his anger so as not to upset her again. He waited for her to say something but when she didn't he took the empty cup from her hands and placed it on the table and stood up.
"chalo tum so jao ub"
"nahi mujhe neend nahi arahi" she said looking away and he gazed at her swollen red eyes and knew that as soon as she would lie down she would sleep.
"naina main yaheen hun. Tumhare pas. Tum sojao" he said lovingly holding her by her shoulders.
"per tum yahan'kaise?" she meant that how was he going to sleep here in her house.
"don't you dare to start and waise bhi you don't desrve to be left alone" he said determinedly lying her down on the bed and tucked her inside her blanket.
"kiya matlab?" she asked confused out of sleep as she couldn't understand what did he meant.
"matlab ye k u don't even trust me k tum mujhe ek baar bhi bata sako k tum kiya karne jarahi ho" he said without even a hint of anger.
"m sorry" she held her hand on his arm gently.
"it's ok per agli baar aisa hua to sorry kehne ka chance bhi nahi milega" he said with an amused glint in his eyes.
"kiyun?? Kiya karoge?" she asked again confused by the look.
"abhi bataon ya'" he asked giving her a dangerously wicked smile and gazed down at her lips.
"nahi!" she said weakly as she felt a delicious chill in her body by his gaze.
"so jao!" he placed his hand on her cheek and smiled at her caringly.,
"waise bhi its high time that you learn to trust me cuz m not gonna leave you that easily or jiske sath sari zindagi bitani ho us per bharosa karna bohat zaruri hai" he told her with almost a hint of arrogance combined with lot of love, honesty and truth.
"or han subha 9 baje tk ready rehna. Na ek minute upar na ek minute neeche" he told her as he reached the door.
"per yuvi jana kahan' suno to!" she started to ask and get up propping on her elbows but before she could even complete, he was out after giving her a wink and before closing her door he called ou,
"9 sharp" and with that he closed the doos while she smiled to herself and laid back down snuggling deeper into the blanket that he had tucked so carefully around her. After rescuing her twice already, she knew she could trust him even blindly and he wasn't going to leave her alone ever. Suddenly excitement and thrill filled inside her mind and heart, making her forget about all the previous events that passed a few hours ago. Tomorrow was definitely going to be a special day in her life '
