Due to Lina's constant complaining, I made this part extra long, it was 8 pages long on Word. I want to send a shout-out to Jacqueline, my friend who helped me with the poem, here's something for you:
Thanks a lot Linn for helping! Especially that one main line! This part has a lot of stuff, you'll learn about Nidhi's past and I am giving some hints at what's going to happen. Enjoy!
Part 7-
Day 4- Conference
Reporter: So Miss Nupur Bhushan, kya yeh sach hai ki aap ek small town girl hai?
Nupur: Yeah, I'm from Morena
Reporter: But why did you come to Mumbai?
Nupur: To study at Excel along with my sister
R: Oh'
N: Humari film ek alag si film hai, not a typical love story
R: So who is your favorite actor in bollywood?
N: They're right beside me right now.
I looked at Akshay and Shah Rukh. They both smiled. (Writer's note: Again, this story can't happen in real life, and if it did, then I doubt your first two co-actors would be Shah Rukh and Akshay, that too, in the same movie)
R: Aur favorite actress?
N: Of course, mein! Just kidding. Actually Kajol meri favorite actress hai
R: So did you like Excel College?
I thought of all the times I had with Mayank, Samrat, Gunjan, Mayank, Diya, Uday, Mayank Benji, MAYANK!
N: Yes, I made brand new friends
R: Tumhari favorite yaad?
I thought about the play, when Mayank finally confessed that he loved me
N: When I was in a play
R: Oh so you have always liked acting?
N: Yeah, ever since I was little
R: Oh, so Askhay, did you like working with Nupur?
A: Haan, Nupur is a simple and sweet girl, but full of masti
R: Aur Shah Rukh?
S: Yeah, I bet any guy would fall for her
Then, that smile turned into a very faint smile. For some reason, I kept on thinking why did I ever leave Mayank but then the reporter interrupted.
R: Nupur has your life changed after you became an actress.
(Flashback)
Mayank: I want a divorce
Nupur: Fine! I want a divorce too. These three years with you was just a waste of time
Mayank: Bye Nupur, hamesha ki liye.
(Flashback ends)
N: Life is pretty much the same, except the fact that everytime you go outside, you almost get ran over by mobs of fans
Everyone started laughing. The reporter seriously wouldn't shut up. But after the conference ended, I left and went home.
Day 5 and 6- I kept on getting strange calls. I had no clue where they were coming from. They would always come at around 4 on my home phone, 5 on my cell phone. They would be coming from PCOs, and every time the person called, it came from a different PCO. This truly scared me because I didn't know what was going to happen to me. Because of this, I got my security guards again for protection. This was freaking me out, a lot. So today I got the phone call. I pick up:
Phone Call= Green
N: Hello?
Other line: ' (You could only hear the breaths)
N: Hello
Other line: '
N: Look, if you do this mistake again, then I'm not sparing you
Other Line: '
N: Tum mujhe aisa kyun tang kar rehi ho
This time he did say something
Other line: Remember my promise Nupur'
N: Yeh kon bol raha hai?
Other Line: You'll see soon, you'll see'
(Phone Call ends)
I didn't realize this but I was breathing heavily. I was so scared.
(Short poem= blue, showing the fear of Nupur P.S. I made it along with my friend Jacqueline Thank you sooo much Jacqueline You Rock!)
Heavily breathing,
Drips of sweat pouring from my head
Shivering with fear
With the words repeating over and over in my mind
Heart thumping fast
Constantly worrying about littlest of sounds
A door creaks with no sudden movement
The wind swings in, making the window open
Giving me Goosebumps on my arms
But the gust of wind was not the reason
(Short poem ends)
I needed someone. I looked around my whole room, for my cell phone.
Nupur: Hello Nidhi?
Nidhi: Nupur? Kya hua?
Nupur: Come here quickly.
Nidhi comes over in 15 minutes. I can always remember that fear during those 15 minutes.
Nidhi: Why did you call me Nupur?
Nupur: I'm scared Nidhi
Nidhi: Why what happened?
Nupur: I got a blank call
Nidhi: Oh god Nupur, tum bhi na, it could've been wrong number
Nupur: No it couldn't have, cause the person said, Remember my promise Nupur?
Nidhi: Are you sure?
Nupur: I'm sure
Nidhi: I can only tell you to be careful.
Nupur: Of course, but I'm really scared.
Nidhi: Arre Nupur, darna mat
Nupur: Kaise?
Nidhi: Just stay calm, speaking of which, where are your security guards?
Nupur: I gave them a break
Nidhi: Nupur, you're an idiot, just other ones
Nupur: But Nidhi, where am I going to go get security guards right now?
Nidhi: Anywhere, but if you don't get one soon, then you'll have to be careful
Nupur: Okay, thanks Nidhi
Nidhi: Nupur, jab mein America mein thi, I took self-defense classes. I learned so many ways to defend myself (Writer's note: Guys, I have taken self-defense classes: at school and at this one thing call Ali Kemp, which was where this one girl named Ali had died because she had gotten kidnapped and died. So at Ali Kemp, they first do a prom fashion show and then, you go to the self-defense class. Also at school, there was this one guy where all of the girls in the class ha dot beat him, not literally. But he would pretend to choke us and we would have to get out of that stage.)
Nupur: Acha?
Nidhi: Haan, now I should leave.
Nupur: Why? Today is a Saturday.
Nidhi: Fine, I'll stay.
Nupur: Chalo, let's go watch a movie.
Nidhi: Okay!
Of course, as the Nupur I am, I own the official copy of DDLG. After we watched the movie, Nidhi reminded me of the old times.
Nidhi: Nupur, didn't you say that you had a husband?
Nupur: Yeah
Nidhi: What was his name?
Nupur: Mayank, why do you ask?
Nidhi: Oh I was just wondering
Nupur: Okay?
Nidhi: It's not that, I always wanted to know how your life was
Nupur: Well I was a small town girl and just loved Bollywood. Then I moved to Mumbai, and went to Excel College.
Nidhi: Oh that's cool. Phir kya hua?
Nupur: You know, classes, plays, lo'
Nidhi: Classes, plays, and what?
Nupur: Nothing
Nidhi: You sure?
Nupur: Yeah
Nidhi: Why did you choose to see DDLG?
Nupur: It's my all-time favorite movie
Nidhi: Sach mein?
Nupur: Ha. Kyun?
Nidhi: Meri bhi favorite film hai!
Nupur: Hum kitne same hai?
Nidhi: I know
I high-fived her. I don't why but I always felt closer to Nidhi. After watching the movie and chatting, we noticed it was 8 p.m.
Nidhi: Chalo, let's eat dinner.
Nupur: Okay, but I didn't make anything
Nidhi: Koi baat nahi, I know how to cook!
Nupur: You're 12, an NRI, and still know how to cook?
Nidhi: Why, is something wrong about that?
Nupur: Oh no, it's not that, just kinda thought that you wouldn't know how to cook
Nidhi: I know a lot of things Nupur
Nupur: Fine, you convinced me.
Nidhi: So come on, let's eat.
Nidhi makes paneer pakore
Nidhi: Let's eat
Nupur: Paneer Pakore! I haven't eaten that for such a long time!
Nidhi: Kyun?
Nupur: Kyun ki May'
Nidhi: May'
Nupur: My husband couldn't eat paneer
Nidhi: Oh. So come on, let's eat
Nupur: Yeah let's eat
Throughout the whole time I was eating, I could only think of Mayank, then I thought of when he divorced with me, so why should I care?
But I did care, I didn't realize this until the night of the premiere.
Nupur: Mmmm! Bahot acha tha!
Nidhi: Thanks! Vaise Nupur'
Nupur: Kya?
Nidhi: What are you going to wear for the premiere?
Nupur: Oh! I forgot to tell you! Manish made me a dress!
Nidhi: Really! That's cool!
Nupur: Come on!
Nidhi: Where?
Nupur: Let me show you the dress!
Nidhi: Okay!
We go upstairs and I show Nidhi the dress.
Nidhi: Oh wow!
Nupur: Kyun? Is it not good?
Nidhi: It's amazing. Beautiful!
Nupur: Thank you!
Nidhi: Excited for the premiere?
Nupur: So excited, it's been 6 months and finally now everything is going to go right! (Writer's Note: I know it said 2 months and so yeah, just saying to be clear)
Nidhi: Of course, everything will go right!
Nupur: You know what Nidhi?
Nidhi: Kya?
Nupur: I know I said that a lot hasn't changed, but now I realized that many things changed.
Nidhi: Like?
Nupur: Such as friendship. I have made so many friends. Like you!
Nidhi: Thanks Nupur!
Nupur: So how was life in America?
Nidhi: It was pretty good. School was different, almost everything has changed after I left America
Nupur: What do you mean?
Nidhi: Well first of all, no one could pronounce my name.
Nupur: You're name is so easy to pronounce, Nidhi.
Nidhi: Are you kidding me? Nobody can pronounce it, they would all say Ni di when they first try to pronounce my name.
Nupur: So what did they call you?
Nidhi: They would pronounce it Nee dee.
Nupur: Sach mein?
Nidhi: Yeah, my Social Studies teacher could never pronounce my name so I spelled my name like Neede.
I was laughing so hard.
Nupur: Wow, Nidhi!
Nidhi: I know, that one thing I like about India. But I miss my friends in America.
Nupur: Oh, I'm sorry
Nidhi: Why sorry? I still chat with them online.
Nupur: That's good!
Nidhi: But I miss my parents the most.
She was about to cry.
Nupur: Don't cry, I miss my parents too.
Nidhi: Your parents have died?
Nupur: My mom did. She died in a car accident.
Nidhi: Oh I'm sorry
Nupur: Koi baat nahi. I was about 16 when my mom died.
Nidhi: Oh, anyways I should probably leave now, it's getting late.
Nupur: Okay! Bye Nidhi!
Nidhi: Bye Nupur!
