Nupur walked towards the kitchen fastly, and hid herself in. Just then the door opened again and a stupid looking guy walked inside and looked around the cafe as if searching for someone. He walked to the counter and asked Gunjan, "Excuse me, (smiling stupidly) did you see a beautiful girl wearing a pink dress. She came inside this cafe only. By the way my name is Uday and her name is Nupur. She is my date and I think she has misunderstood me. I want to clear all the misunderstandings between us. Err..Will you please......." Gunjan held out a hand to stop him and said, "Sorry, I haven't seen any such girl here." Uday scratched his head and stood thinking. Then said "Okay..Fine" and went outside. Nupur revealed herself and walked to Gunjan and hugged her tightly. She said, "Oh Gunjan, Tum teek keh rahi thi..Blind dating is a really foolish thing to do.."Gunjan smiled and asked, "Par kya hua di..?" Nupur broke off from the hug and looked at Gunjan "Mat poocho kya hua..Gunjan, you know what..".But Nupur couldn't complete the sentence. Uday opened the door and said, "Mujhe pata tha ki tum yahin ho..Heh heh he..Hoon na main intelligent..?!"Nupur was startled and she stood behind Gunjan swiftly and said, "Hey bhagwan..Phir aagaya museebat..!"

Gunjan turned to Uday and asked patiently "Aapko kya chahiye..?"..Uday smiled widely and looked at Nupur, then back to Gunjan and said "Heh heh...Waise chahta toh main bahut kuch hoon...Par filhaal toh mera dil is husn ki pari Nupur par atka hain..Excuse me..Side please.." and he signalled Gunjan to step aside so that he could see Nupur properly. But Gunjan didn't do so and she stood there itself. Uday walked around her and knelt before Nupur spreading his arms and saying "Hey beautiful... I love you..Please tell me that you love me too..Kaho na..Don't be so shy.." and then his face blushed and he blinked his eyes stupidly. The people in the cafe were staring at them and Nupur could not handle any more. She just walked off towards the kitchen fuming with anger. Uday stood up to see where she had gone. Nupur emerged with a knife in her hand and she walked towards him with a dangerous expression. Gunjan didn't know what to say and she called "Di..!!". But Nupur took him by his collar, placed the sharp edge of the knife on his side neck and whispered in his ear ,"Bakwaas band karo...Chalo futo yahaan se..Warna..." She looked into his eyes with her fiery eyes and Uday began to sweat profusely. His body began to tremble and he replied with a shivering voice "C-collar t-toh ch-chod do.." Nupur left his collar and he ran out of the cafe immediately. Nupur dropped the knife and she sighed deeply. Gunjan came and held Nupur's hands gently. She said, "Cool down Di..You scared the hell out of that poor guy..!" But suddenly Nupur smiled widely "Kya Gunjan..! Main bilkul teek hoon..Bas uss bewakoof ko thoda daraana tha.." and giggled happily. Gunjan raised her eyebrows and asked "Thoda..?Kuch zyaada nahin hogaya kya..?!Dekho sab log tumhe dekh rahe hain.." Nupur looked around and saw everyone staring, so she said to everyone with a smile.."Sorry to disturb you all...Please enjoy your coffees.."

It was past bedtime and the light in the balcony of Flat No.32 of the Lakeview Apartments was still on. Nupur and Gunjan were sitting on the floor, leaning to the handrail of the balcony, either of them holding a cup of ginger flavoured tea. Gunjan was listening to Nupur as she explained her about the date with Uday. She was saying "I reached the restaurant, and my eyes fell on this guy Uday, who was sitting alone by a table for two...I was hoping that he would not be as stupid as he looked..I went up to him and asked whether he was Uday.. " and then she widened her eyes "Aur pata hain kya hua Gunjan..?" Gunjan was amused seeing her expression and smiled. Nupur began to act as if she was Uday..(stood up and held out her hand and smiled stupidly)"Hello Nupur..Yes yes I am Uday..(scratched her head)"You know what...I haven't met a girl as beautiful as you...(spread her arms wide)Aye husn ki mallika, tum ek pari ki tarah behadh khoobsurat ho..( then with a gentle expression)You are so delicate like a rose petal...(then stupidly)Please take your seat..." By the time Nupur finished telling his dialogue, Gunjan was laughing heartily..."Di, phir kya hua..?Tum baithi us seat mein..ya tabhi bhaagna shuru kar di..?"

Nupur sat down beside Gunjan and said, "Hmm..Mujhe tabhi lag raha tha ki ladka thoda paagal hain....But I took my seat and then the waiter came, and he started ordering without even asking me ." Again she acted like him "Err...By the way I would like to have one Dough nut, one plate Chicken sandwich, one Ham burger, one chocolate shake and finally...yeah one special pizza too..Yeah..thank you thank you.." Then Gunjan asked "Kya, tumhare liye kuch bhi nahin..?Aur itna saara khana sirf uske liye" Nupur sighed angrily "Aur nahin toh kya Gunjan..?!Usne mujhse poocha tak nahin ki main kya loongi..And then the waiter asked me and I replied " just a glass of water"..Phir bhi uss Uday ne kuch nahin kaha..Pata hain..?! I got really angry and got up to go after the waiter went away..And when he saw me leaving, he came after me "Kya hua Nupur?" karke..Hey bhagwan!!Usne cafe tak mera peecha kiya..Uff..!!Ab kaho Gunjan..Usse peecha chudaane ke liye main woh chaaku(knife) nahin leti toh aur kya karti..?!!" Gunjan replied after sipping her tea,"Par woh toh kuch zyaada hi kiya tumne haan Di..Bechara.." Nupur sipped her tea and then giggled.."Hmm..Ab chal..Its really late, lets go to sleep..Tommorow I have to attend the job interview.."

Next day something happened that Gunjan had never even expected. It was midmorning and only a few number of customers had visited Cafe Treat. Gunjan couldn't understand what the problem was. She looked around the cafe and counted the number of customers at that time, only 5 members! Usually her cafe would be filled with customers by this time. She tried to imagine what the reason would be. Suddenly even before having their coffees, all of them got up to leave. Gunjan was astonished and she asked with a hurt voice, "Excuse me, what is the problem? Why are you all leaving without even having your coffees..?". One of the girls among them said, pointing across the road, "Haven't you seen that ?Now only we noticed it. I guess that's why this cafe is not full today.." As all of them were walking out of her cafe, Gunjan looked towards the opposite side of the road. She couldn't believe her eyes as she saw a large banner pasted beside the entrance of a new shop, right opposite to her cafe. It read -

"Have your choice of coffee for FREE on our opening day.

We bet that it will be tastier and better than what you get

at the other shop, Cafe Treat.

P.S :Offer valid only for Today. Rush in "

Gunjan felt like she was about to faint. She looked up and read the shop's name as Cafe Metro. She looked at the banner again and she felt fury bubbling inside her. She opened the door and stepped outside. She crossed the road and walked towards the Cafe Metro.She opened the door and looked around the cafe. She felt really bad when she saw her usual customers enjoying their drinks merrily.She looked towards the reception counter and saw a round faced guy sitting there. She went up to him and asked "Could I meet the owner of this cafe?". The guy smiled at her and said "Hello..I am one of the owners. I have a partner too..You can talk to me." Gunjan wanted to shout at him but she retained her formal tone and asked "Okay..I would like to know why you have advertised against my cafe, I mean the opposite shop. You could have used other ways than tricking my customers by your silly Ad.." and she looked at him with a determined face...But she was distracted by another voice.."Hello chasmish, nice to see you here..?" Gunjan was surprised to see Samrat. She asked "Tum..?" He smiled naughtily and said "Welcome to our shop chashmish.." Now she was again surprised "What?! Your shop..?"Samrat continued to smile and he said "Haan..And meet my partner Benjy". Gunjan said to Samrat, "Oh..Then you answer my question. Was it necessary to ruin my business, for you to start a cafe here?" Samrat's face became serious and he replied "Well, everything is fair in love and war. Your cafe was a competition for us and we had to do something about it.(then smiles) Well, but our advertisement is true also..Our coffees are definitely tastier and better than yours." Gunjan was beginning to feel really frustrated by now , she asked "How can you say so..?" Samrat replied casually "Well, remember I came to your cafe and bought a variety of coffees? That was to know how they tasted, and how we can make better coffees than them. So simple." and again smiled naughtily. Gunjan didn't know what to say and she could feel tears welling up in her eyes..She repeated his words sadly and slowly, "So simple..!" and without saying another word she stormed out of the cafe.

Gunjan was feeling really upset, but she didn't cry. She washed her face and eyes as soon as she reached inside her cafe and went and sat behind the reception counter. After that, only a few people visited her cafe around noon time and even afternoon while the other cafe had been filled with customers and they had no place to occupy. Gunjan felt some what relieved that at least her cafe is not empty. While it was nearing evening time, and when the cafe was empty, someone came to visit her cafe. She looked up to see who it was, and she was surprised to see Uday, who stood smiling before her with a bouquet of white roses in his hand. She smiled at him. He said, "Hii, remember me..? I am U-D-A-Y, Uday.." Gunjan said "Yes" with a smile. He said, "By the way, where is Nupur..?" Gunjan replied to him, "Uday, aap kyun didi ke peeche pade hain..?You know that she doesn't like you.." Uday looked down sadly and said "Pata hain.." and then looked up and said "But today I have come to make peace with her and I want to be her friend,...issi liye main yeh white roses laaya hoon..White for peace.." and smiled innocently. Gunjan felt that he was an innocent person. He continued, "You know what, my friends scolded me badly when they came to know what I had done during our date..Maine Nupur ke liye koi khana nahin order kiya na....Usse poocha tak nahin.. " and then he smiled foolishly and said quickly, "Woh kya hain na..Khane ka naam sunte hi main sab kuch bhool jaata hoon..haan.." Gunjan laughed and said "Its alright Uday..Didi aati hi hogi..Woh aaj ek job interview ke liye gayi hain..When she comes you give this to her okay..?" Uday replied "Ok..Tab tak, kya main yahan baithkar coffee pee sakta hoon?" Gunjan said "Yeah..sure.."

After some time, Nupur came to the cafe. She didn't notice Uday and she came towards Gunjan and hugged her happily. and began to say excitedly, "I got the job Gunjan...!!" and kissed her cheek. Gunjan was so happy for her sister and she said "Wow di !!" and stood up from her chair and hugged Nupur back. Nupur broke off her hug from Gunjan and turned happily only to bump into Uday who had got up from his seat and was standing behind her. Nupur screamed "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!!" and Uday was frightened and he began to back off. Gunjan tapped Nupur's shoulder and said "Di" loudly. Nupur came out of the shock and stopped screaming and she began to shout at him, "Tum !! Again you came here..?How dare you..?!!" Uday took out the bouquet and held it towards her. He said "I am sorry Nupur..Please forgive me." and he knelt before her and begged "Please...." innocently. Nupur calmed down and she looked at Gunjan. Gunjan gave her an approving nod and Nupur said "Okay". Then she took the bouquet from him and said "Thank you Uday." Uday took out yet another rose from his back side belt and offered it to Nupur. This time it was a pink rose and he asked "Friends...?" . Nupur smiled and took the flower, saying "Friends..!"
