Samrat throws gunjan with such a force that she skids to find balance.
S (too maddened to talk properly): jab maine tumhe pehli bar dekha tab hi mujhe ye laga tum ek mamoli sa bahenji ho! Chashmish n all! Per dheere dheere mujhe ye ehsaas hua ke fashion sense nahin to kya hua tum ek aachhe insaan ho is liye main tumhe apna frnd bhi maan liya! (gunjan keeps staring at him silently) lakin wo mera galathi tha ke tumhe main tum jaisi ladkiyon se alag samajh baitha!!! Usdin jab tum ishita ko mere kamre se nikal diya tab mujhe sirf ek hi baat irritate kiya ke tum mere zindegi me dakhal dene ki koshish kar rahi ho! Par aaj??? Mujhe acchhi terha se pata chal chuka hain ke tumhari niyat kya tha? Tha kiu keh raha hoon ?(he smiles bitterly shrugging) wo to ab bhi hain na? (not trying to hide his hatred at all)dosti ki sahare mere karib aane ki koshish! Aur jab usme bhi kamiyab nahi huyi tab tum is hadh tak gir gayi ke,,,chhi!
G (losing control of herself): girna??? Tumhari nazron me to ye girna nahi ho sakta samrat!
S: tumhe kya pata mere naz,,,
G (snapping): agar ye girna hi hain to tum aur tarana ne jo kiya wo bhi to girnahi hain na samrat?
S: tarana mera
G: kya hain samrat? gf to nahin hain,,, kiuki samrat to koi commitment me nahin ja sakta (samrat looks at her dumbfounded) isi karan finacee ka option bhi bekar ho jata hain! To phir wo tumhaa sirf dost hi raha hoga? (stepping in looking into his eyes reflecting same sort of disgust) aur sirf dost ke sath waisa performance karneka haq agar tumhe hain to mujhe kiu nahin samrat? agar ishita ko hot dress me dekh sakteho to mujhe kiu nahin? Agar tarana ki steamy performance pe applaud kar sakte ho to mere performance pe kiu nahi? (losing her cool every second as emotion is taking all over again) kiu nahin dekh sakte ho mujhe aise? Kiu nahin
S (smirking bitterly): hold on! Tumhe kya lagta hain ke main jealous hoon!? Wo bhi tumhe lekar??? ( he chuckles a forced one) its so funny! U know? but superdumb! Sorry! Aur mere itna disturbed hone ka karan aur kuchh bhi nahin tumhara double standard hain.
G:double standard???
S: haan! Kehne me to tum sweet si pyarisi Hindustani ladki ho shyad sanskar ki bhashan denewali bhi, ye ek kaam tum log bahat aachhe se kar lete ho! Par jab bhi un sanskar aur adarsh pe tike rehneka waqt aate hain tab tum log dum dabaye bhag jaate ho!yakin nahin hota? Aapne aap kohi dekh lo! ye double standard nahin to kya hain miss gunjan bhushan? (grinding his teeth together) Aur mujhe double standard se nafrat hain!
G (with tears swimming in her eyes): tab to shyad tumhe khudse bahat nafrat hota hoga samrat! jabeke tum bhi jante ho sach kya hain!
Samrat gets stricken by her words once again as she leaves. samrat recovers After a few seconds as some1 else calls his name.
r: samrat tumhare liye ek msg hain, tarana ka, wo ghar chali gayi serdard ki vaaje se.
s nods n begins to leave butstops as rimjhim starts again.
R: I m sorry samrat ke I heard some of the argument,,,(samrat nods in 'its ok') aur samrat! mujhe ye bhi lagake tumhara point se uska poin zyada bhaari tha.
S (exclaiming): what?!! I don't bv this kya ab tumhe bhi ye laagne laga hain ke mujhhe jalan hota hain?? Wobhi
R (seriously): samrat pls! ek dost hone ki naate mujhe ye zaruri laga ke main tumhe batadu ab baki tumhari marzi! Btw tumne ek baat notice ki? tumne mujhe tab tak reply nahin kiya jab tak main gunjanki topic ko topic ko hit nahi ki, iska to ek hi matlab ho sakta hain ke tum us vaare mehi soch rahethe tab tak?
S:fine,soch rahatha main us vaare me! Per it ends her,ab aur nahin
R;nahin samrat! agar ye dost pe thodi sibhi yakin ho to phir socho! Kiuki baat sochne layak hain!
Next day at college
Gunjan is back to her ownself again deciding enough is enough, n if samrat is happy without her she shud let him be.
D (trying to persue her): kuchh aur din chalne deta to shyad
R:kya hota diya? Ye hi thik hain samrat ka reaction hum sabne dekhli aur ekbaar phir ye sabit ho gaya ke use gunjan ka parwa hain! Lakin iske aage jo karna hain wo samrat ko hi karna parega.
G : aur main is roz roz ki drame se thak chuki hoon! Ab gunjan samrat ko tab milegi jab samrat khud usko chahega! Ye sab mujhse aur nahin hota!
D: par gunj
R (interrupting her): dia rehne do! She is right you know! (the bell rings) ab chalo class ke liye late ho rahe hain.
They leave keepin a couple of eavesdroppers behind.
U: yani ke ye sab samrat ka memory lautane ke liye tha!
C: wohi to lagta hain dodo (looking at his sterned face he rectifies) mera matlab tha 'dude'!
U: yaar chacko, gunjan mere sabse favorite sister hain! Aur bade bhai hone ke naate mujhe uske liye kuchh karna chahie, chahie kya, karnahi parega! Isme tu mer sath dega na?
C nods.
Evening at shrama house
Mm n nupur are having tea together.
Mm: mayu ke liye na main sabse acchhi ladki dhundke nikalungi nupur, jo smart, padilikkhi hone sath sath intelligent, witty aur sanskari bhi ho.
N (in her head): to itne dur dekhne ki kya zarurat hain thode ankh uthake mere or hi dekh leti to acchha hota na auntie!
Mm (continuing): us disha jaisi to bilkul nahin jisko education aur smartness ka sahi matlab hi nahin pata!
N nods smiling.
Mm: is mamle me main koi compromise nahi kar sakti beta! Waise hi mayu ne mere khatir itne jaldi shaadi ke liye haan kar diya hain , to maa hone ka zimedari ke sath aur ek zimedari bhi to shamil hota hain na isme?
N : ji auntie. (then hesitating a bit) ek baat puchhu auntie?
Mm: puchho na?
N: wo ,,,mayank ke shaadi ,,,itne jaldi,,,
Mm (smiling): janti hoon kya kehna chahti ho, (sighing) main ye bhi janti hoon ki shyad ye ajib bhi laage tum sab ki nazarme par ek maa ki nazar se dekho to ye kucch aur hi laagega! (pausing a bit) tumhe pata hain na ke mujhe ek minor sa attack ho gaya! Agli baar shayad main
N: auntie pls
Mm (looking happy for her concern): lemme put it this way beta, zindegi ka koi bharosa nahin hain, aur I m the only family he has! (shaking off her emotion, smiling once again) to maine than liya ke isse pehle ke main chali jaau mayank ko ek family chhodte huye hi jaau. (looking at nupur's tears , she tries to pacify her) aare nupur, ro mat beta! Main kaal thodi na jaa rahi hoon? Mujhhe apni naati potiyon se khelana nahin hain kya?
Nupur tries to laugh at this but cries even more , mm hugs her smiling.
Samrat's place
At the terrace
S: I know kaal mujhhe apna priorities sort out karne me thodi ghalathi ho gaya, aur us liye I m really sorry! Par iska matlab ye to nahin ke itni chhoti si baat ke liye tum mujhse relation aage na barhao?
T (smiling): as far as I m concerned u really dint want to go for any sort of commitment? So, tell me wat exactly has changed in one evening tht u r asking me to (her voice gets muted as some1 else's voice takes over in samrat's mind, gunjan's taunting him about running away from relationship)samrat? Samrat, r u listening?
s (recovering): haan babes wat were you saying ?
t shakes her head in disappointment
s: sorry I cudnt catch it.
T (exhaling): fine, I just wanna know why samrat? is it love? Or something else?
S hesitates b4 answering.
T (noticing): do you love me samrat? (samrat takes a strong effort to say 'yes' but cant looking in her eyes,,, tarana smiles) I dint think so. (she turn away to leave)
S(desperately) : tarana wait! ( samrat waits until she turns back to him) I think I need some more time.
T (smiling with relief): I m in no hurry samrat! take your time!
She nods b4 leaving, samrat waves smiling.
Nujan's room.
N (over phone): kaal main nahin aa sakti mayank!! Tumhe to pata hain kaal gunjan ka performance hain? Pls manage karlo na? (listening to mayank) mayank?,,,,,,,sorry,,,,,,(smiling) to phir parsu milte hain? Bye.
G (entering): kisse baat kar rahi thi di?
N (absentmindedly): wo mayank ko bata rahi thi ki mujhe kaal tere competition attend karna hain to main kaal nahi aa sakti.
G(hugging her from behind): di mujhse zyada mayank ko kaal tumhari zarurat hain, aur tumne use hi mana kar di wo bhi mere khatir? Hmmm ab to ek hi rasta hain,,, wo phone uthao aur usse keh do ke tum available ho.
N; par gunjan tu waha akeli
G (coming face to face towards nupur): waha pe mere sath dia, rimjhim, benji, uday bhaiya aur sa (she halts abruptly then rephrases )saare excel college hoga! To tum
N (pretending she dint notice the rephrashin thing): to mere zarurat to tujhe bilkul bhi nahin padegi!
G (complaining): di! Tum janti ho baat wo nahin hain! Phir bhi'
N:aaccchha sorry! Ab to maafi milega na mujhe???
G (hiding a smile): ek shart pe?
N: kaunsi shart?
G:pehle kaho shart manzur
N ; achha thik hain,manzur! Ab to bol?
G smiles indicating the phone.
N (shaking her head, reaching for the receiver): tu bhi na gunjan!
Gunjan smiles as nupur dials the number.
Samrat's place
Browsing the dvd rack samrats' hand stops as his eyes catch a sight of a home dvd , saying ,' the official sajan day'. He gets absolutely thoughtful n confused as something in tht sajan word hits him, he looks at the dvd in his hand n then at the sajan dvd once again then he goes for the sajan keeping the one in his hand back in to place. He puts it in his dvd player n hits the play button.
