Part 4-

As nupur walked down the corridor she saw samrat, dia, mayank and gunjan walking together and chatting. She did not wanna attract any unnecessary attention, so she hid behind the pillar waiting for them to leave. As soon as they reached the pillar they stopped, and started talking even more. Although they hadn't noticed her, but nupur seemed to be the hot topic among them . she heard dia saying—

'I never thought nupur could turn oout to be such a bitch, I mean the way she was watching you guys from her window. Gosh. How cheap.'

At that point nupur felt herself go red all over.

Mayank- jiski jaisi standard hai wo insaan waise hi rahega. Jaise nupur, nupur itni low or cheap standard ki insaan hai toh who aise harkate toh karegi hi na.

Nupur felt herself burning with anger.

Samrat- you know what mayank, I agree with you completely. Shes such a f**king bitch. Im so glad we don't have to put up with her nonsense anymore.

Gunjan- array the worst part being, when I reached home after jogging in the morning I get a message from nupur saying- 'mere mayank se dhur raho'

Dia- after everything, she said MERA mayank??

Gunjan- ya

Dia- godd someone really needs to teach her how to get a life.

Mayank- you know gunjan you should write a book—

They all started laughing and they went ahead.

As soon as they were gone, nupur came out from behind the pillar and felt herself go white with anger. When had she messaged anything to gunjan? She dint even have gunjans number! Why was gunjan making up stories.

She sighed and went ahead to the rest of the classes. Things were normal in the rest of the classes. She mostly took a seat as away from the 4 as possible. And she tried her best to concentrate on her studies.

Soon it as time to go home. As soon as she went home, she went into the room and started studying.

She thought-

'aur kuch ho na ho, but I have to pull up my marks or mamma will kill me.'

In the evening at around 5 30, she had finally covered up the topics of 5 important chs. She felt good. She decided to go and have a nice little chat with akhil.

She went into his room, there was no one inside.

She raced downstairs.

Nupur- mama, mama aki kahaan hai?

Mama- are tum uth gayee?

Nupur- kya? Main kahaa so rahi thi?

Mama- jhooti.

Her mom said playfully then her mom continued.

Mama- tere aki bhaiya football practice ke liye gaye hai. Saath mein dia aur samrat bhi gaye hai. Unne tumhe bulaya tha par tum so rahi thi.

She suddenly felt her heart becoming heavy again. If dia and sammy had said that, atleast aki should have come to check whether she was really sleeping. Why dint he come? Or was he also under some kind of misconception! Was he also a part of the conspiracy against her?

She just couldn't take it anymore. She ran up to her room and she started crying. Why did things always go wrong in her life? But atleast now she had the contentment of knowing it wasn't because of her. It was something else all aside.

1 hr later when she had calmed down she went downstairs. Her mom looked at her and said-

'arre tu neeche aa gayee. Main tujhe hi bhulane aa rahi thi. Beta paas waale shilpa aunty ke ghar jaake thodi si dahi le aa.'

Nupur suddenly felt the same sinking feeling.

Going to shilpa auntys place meant her son, mayank sharma

She tried objecting-

'maa dia ya aki ko bol dona'

she said making a face.

Mom- nonie, mera bacha, maine kahaa tho tha dia aur aky, aky ke football practice mein gaye hue hai.

She said handing her a cup.

'ja beta le kea a dahi.'

Nupur- acha thike.

She said making a face

Then she dragged herself to mayanks place, very slowly.

She rang the bell- shilpa aunty opened it.

Shilpa- arre nupur beta. Kitne din ho gaye hi tumhe dekhe hue?

Upur- namastey aunty. Who kaam rehta hai.

Shilpa- mayank ki yaad nahi aati . koi baat nahi. But jinko tum maasi bhulati ho unki bhi yaad nahi aati?

Nupur- nahi aunty aisa nahi hai.woh bas aise hi. Wo darasal mamma ko dahi chahiye tha.

She said handing her the cup.

Shilpa- beta tum andar aake baitho tab tak main dahi laati hoon.

Nupur- nahi aunty, main yaheen pe-----

Before she could her sentence mayank spoke-

'jinki jitni aukaad hoti hai, unhe wahi pe rakte hai. Jin logon ko bahaar rakhna chahiye un logon ko andar bhulake ghar ka mahaul mat kharab karo maa.'

He said all this directly looking at nupur.

Aunty was looking at mayank with a shocked expression-

'mayank maafi maango', aunty said rather angrily

mayank- maa please—

and he went intohis room. And to nupurs surprise, mayank was followed into his room by dia and sammy and gunjan- when suddenly gunjan said she was thirsty so the other 3 went inside the room and closed it. Aunty had already gone into the kitchen to get the dahi. Nupur was looking at the ground. When suddenly she was approached by gunjan.

Gunjan cleared her throat. Nupur looked up, and felt the familiar sensation of pure hatred.

Gunjan made a pitiable face at her and said- awww baby ko bura laga.

Nupur dint reply

Gunjan- bechari. Tumhaare paas 3 hi cheese thi- apni studies, mayank aur apne friends. Aur maine teeno ko tumse chutkiyon mein chin liya aur tumhe pata bhi nahi chala.

Nupur couldn't control herself. She looked gunjan in the eye and asked-

'tumhaari problem kya hai? Aakhir tum mujhse chaahti kya ho? Why the hell are you spreading lies about me to them?'

gunjan- how sad. Lagta hai tubelight ab tak nahi jali. Let me explain. 2 reasons—

1. first reason, samrat. Main samrat ko pasand karti hoon, aur aisa karke mujhe samrat ke saath time spend karne ko mil raha hai
2. and the second reason. main gunjan hoon. The best. Aur mujhe haarna acha nahi lagta. Aur tum chaaron muje nursery se lekar ab tak padhai mein beat karte aye ho. So mera aim tha tum chaaron ko ek doosre se alag karna. Jo kaafi achi tarah work kar raha hai. You are out of the top 5 ranks. And main chutkiyon 5^th rank se 3^rd rank pe aa gayi! what could be better babes.'

Nupur- gunjan, jo tum chaahti thi wo ho gaya! So I bet you must be very happy. So please mujhe akela chod do for gods sake.

Gunjan- whatever!

She turned to walk to mayanks room when suddenly she turned and pointed the middle finger at nupur and she pouted. Nupur could feel her anger rising. When suddenly aunty came back-

Aunty- yeh lo beta tumhaari dahi.

Nupur- thank you aunty.

Aunty- nupur beta. Mayank ke taraf se main tumse maafi mangti hoon. Uske baton ka bura mat man na

Nupur- nahi aunty. Mujhe bura nahi laga. Main chalti hoon aunty. Bye

Aunty- bye beta.

Nupur quickly came back home and went to her room to sleep.

But before sleeping she promised herself—

'tomorrow its going to be a brand new start. All the best gunjan'
