Part 15-

Anna quickly locked her front door and started to walk towards nupurs place. As she did she found dia and raunak waiting for her with samrat and gunjan.

(dia-d, anna-a, raunak-r, samrat-s, gunjan-g)

a-hey sorry im late. Wo main dum-dum ko sula rahi thi.

d- dum dum??

r- her little brother daman. We call him dum dum.

At this dia and raunak exchanged smiles, then looked away.

Then dia diverted her gaze towards the others and said-

d- chalo lets go in.

Dia opened the door with her keys and they all went inside.

As soon as they entered Dia called out- mamma? Papa? Aki?

Hearing them akhil came out of his room and asked- itna shor kyu kar rahi hai? Main pad raha hoon.

d- whatever, listen mom dad kahaan hai?

(for akhil-aki)

Aki- woh bahar dinner ke liye gaye hue hai. Theyll be here by 11.

d- oh great.

They all looked bugged except for samrat and gunjan who were secretly exchanging winks.

Aki- kyu kya hua?

d- well the same old story. Tumhe maine bataya tha na about nupurs new wanna-be nature, ab usne in logon se bhi jhoot kaha hai ki wo yaad hai maine tujhe bata ya tha ki mayank slapped nupur, well usne inse kahaa ki when he slapped her she had to be taken to the hospital. Ha! How exagerrative!

a-akhil? Tum to uske bhai ho na? To tumhe pata hoga ki wo hospital mein thi ki nahi? Hai na?

Akhil was suddenly between wills and wonts. He alongside mom and dad had promised nupur long ago that they would never mention the hospital incident in front of dia. No matter what!

a-so akhil tell us kya wo hospital mein thi?

If i tell them, then nupur will surely kill me. I promised her i wouldnt say a word in front of dia. But if i dont say anything then nupur will surely lose her new friends too.

r- akhill tell us? Was she in the hospital?

Aki- i... woh darasal...

And he finally made up his mind, i cant tell them, atleast not in front of dia, abhi ill say ki nahi aisa kuch nahi hua tha, then later on nupur can sort it out with her new friends, and ill help her. Ya. Thats the best thing to do.

d- boll akhil? Hamare paas pura din nahi hai tera jawaab sunne ke liye!

Aki- Wo us din hospital mein nahi thi. Woh to mere saath football practice pe aayi hui thi.

He said hoping they wouldnt catch the lie.

And as he said this he saw all their expressions change. Dias turned gleeful that she was right, samrat and gunjans mouths open in disbelief, and anna and raunak outraged.

a-how dare she?

r- i trusted her. I helped her like she was my own sister.

a-i so completely fell for her 'i want sympathy' trick.

They both had a look of cold anger on their faces.

Meanwhile akhil was talking to himself, kahin maine galat to nahi kiya na batake.

r- anyways sorry dia. Take care. Humein chalna chahiye.

d- okay

they started walking towards the door, and were about to open it when nupur walked in through the door with anvita.

SLAP

Raunak tightly slapped nupur, and said- you are such a bitch, a wanna be drama queen! And i actually fell for your whole im alone crap you know. I actually felt bad for you.

Nupur with one hand clutching at her cheek looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

a-oh wow, now after everything you're crying out your bloody crocodile tears.

n- what are you guys-

r- JUST SHUT UP

he shouted out at her.

And before nupur could stop herself tears were streaming down her cheeks, she tried to push her way in, but raunak held her by the arm and said- tumne mujhse jhoot kyu bola?

In a tone dangerously low.

n- kaunsa jhoot?

Crying her heart out.

Meanwhile anvita was trying her best to protect nupur from raunak. Trying hard to get raunaks hands off nupur. And dia, samrat and gunjan stood stunned at the fact that raunak had slapped her for such a small thing. Samrat and gunjan guiltily shifted and looked at each other, a little scared of what would happen if raunak and anna came to know of what they were hiding. And akhil stood there bewildered, a little scared seeing the way the guy had slapped his sister. Before he could think anything else it struck him that he had slapped her coz of his lie not coz of her lies. And he quickly ran towards them.

Raunak who had been holding nupur so hard on her shoulder that his finger nails were piercing through her arm, was pleased to see blood gushing out through the wounds of her arm. Before he could hurt her in any other way akhil came and stood between nupur and raunak.

Seeing akhil, raunak shook his head and turned to anna and said- lets go, is jaise cheap low class logon se baat karne ka koi faayeda nahi!

But before they could take another step, mayank came inside and turned to nupur.

m- so finally tumne apni asli aukaad dhikadi sabko. Hai na? Im so sorry ki mujhe laga ki tum innocent ho. Main bhi kitna stupid tha na ki i apologized to you in the class today. So dumb of me. I should have known ki tum kabhi innocent ho hi nahi sakti.

n- mayank nahi- yeh.. yeh sach nahi hai.. please meri baat suno.

m- nupur tum jhooti thi, ho aur rahogi, aur yeh ek asia fact hai jo kabhi bhi change nahi ho sakta.

n- mayank main-

now literally whimpering, with anvita and akhil holding her, trying to get her to move back.

m- not another word!

n-mayank—

SLAP.

Mayank slapped nupur tight on the face. And the force was so much that she fell into akhils arms.

Aki- mayank how dare you!

m- you stay out of it akhil.

Saying this mayank, raunak and anna marched out. And they were followed by dia who was shining with glee that nupur finally got what she deserved. Meanwhile samrat and gunjan guiltily shuffled out of the house, thinking that shouldve been their cheeks.

Meanwhile nupur sturggled free from akhil and anvitas grip and ran off upstairs and locked the door. And inside she started crying, crying uncontrollably.

As she opened her drawer to take out her diary, she saw a bottle of sleeping pills.

Last alternative, she thought.

And she quickly unscrewed the tiny bottle.

She stood up from her bed and went to the bottle of water lying by her books.

And without further ado she took out the pills and started gulping them down, 5 in one gulp. And bfore she knew it, the bottle was empty. She knew this was the end, and she would probably never see them again. So she quietly lay on her bed and closed her eyes, wishing it to be peaceful and painless.
