Hi guys, sorry about not posting this earlier. Uni life is going to kill me some day. Here's the next post and hopefully I will start working on the next one. Sorry it's not the greatest part. I just needed to show the group dynamics between the friends.

Chapter 6

'Hey, Kripa! Here!' she heard a voice call.

'Justin! Hi, it's so good to see you!' Kripa smiled. She knew he would be here to pick her up. 'Where's the rest of the gang?' She went to him and hugged him.

'Kripa!' she heard a few voices scream in unison. 'You're back! We missed you!'

Kripa felt herself being enveloped in a warm embrace by Kajal, Jill and Tiffany. 'Hey guys, I missed you too! It's been so long! At least I talked to Kajal on the phone a few days ago. You guys didn't even call me!' Kripa complained.

'We facebooked you! Do you ever even check your messages?' Tiffany asked.

'You know me. I hate Facebook. The only reason I have it is because you forced me to.'

They went to Justin's car and chitchatted on the way.

Justin Saunders was a senior studying Political Science and Journalism. He was a tall, well-built man from Iowa City, Iowa. He was usually a reserved person but when he was with friends, all his reservations vanished. Jill Wei was an American Chinese who was a senior Biochemistry student for her Pre-Medicine. She was a lovely, dark-haired, almond-eyed woman who was always excited. Tiffany Kaseke was a Kenyan who had come to the States for her Pharmacy degree. She was one with many mood swings but loved her friends to death. Their diverse group always turned heads.

Kripa saw that the car was not going in the direction of the university but somewhere else. 'Hey, why aren't we going to UIUC? Where are we going?'

Tiffany laughed, 'Remember our bet? The last person back has to give a treat to everyone!'

Kripa groaned. She had completely forgotten about that. 'You didn't even tell me when you all were coming back so it was not my fault!'

Soon enough, they were in Taco Bell. They went in there and ordered some food, grabbed it and sat on the tables. They all started chitchatting.

Jill piped in, 'So you know Kajal has a new crush. She saw him over break and she has gone gaga. But she won't tell us who he is.'

Justin laughed, 'She might be serious about this guy and not like the other ten guys she has dated in the past!'

Kajal blushed furiously. 'Give me a break guys! It wasn't my fault! You know how I cannot refuse if someone asks me out. It will break their poor heart! And anyways, the days of me dating two guys at once are long gone!'

The entire group gasped and Kajal bit her tongue. She had not just admitted that out loud. 'Hey, I told you that I could not say no! It turned out to be that I had two-timed best friends and they don't know it till today. How that's possible, I don't even know. So Kripa, how was it at home?'

Everyone just looked at her. Kripa never spoke about home. They didn't even know if she had any siblings. They had no idea about her life. It wasn't that she didn't want to talk to them about her home; she just didn't know what to say. 'It was good. So Tiffany, how was Kenya? How are your brothers doing? You must have been so excited!'

They just looked at each other and dropped the subject. They continued talking about other things. Justin suddenly looked at Kajal and saw her fidgeting nervously and blushing. He followed her line of sight and saw a tall, lean Indian guy talking to his friends. He wasn't even looking at Kajal. Justin poked Jill and showed her what was going on. Jill poked Tiffany and Kripa and soon, all of them were laughing. Kajal saw what had happened and got very embarrassed. She turned and saw Dev watching the group with an amused expression. He knew! That *******! He knew she was crazy about him!

Why is it so hard to tell them about my life? We have been best friends for three years now and still, whenever they ask about my family, I cannot tell them. They do not know that I have two elder brothers and a mother and a father. They don't know that Karan Bhaiya is engaged to Nandini Bhabhi. They don't know about my garden. It's almost as if I don't have a life back at home.

I know all about their lives but why is it so difficult to share about mine? I am like that little bird who observes everything about human beings and know everything about them but one who cannot tell them about me. My life is not bad. It's great. I have grown up with so many privileges.

They must be thinking that I have a horrible past or such but I have a perfectly normal life. Why am I doing this to them and to me? They are the best friends I have ever had. Friends in my other life wouldn't stick with me, but these are like a breath of fresh air in a stale life. I will have to tell them about me some day. Not now. I can't tell them now.
