It's a beautiful verse by Faiz Ahmed Faiz and one of the most romantic ones that I have heard. I first heard it in a Pakistani play called Dhoop Kinare and I maintain till date that Rahat Kazmi was one attractive, sexy dude and the character that he played was to die for! I have in fact been hunting for a DVD of the play but have been unable to find any! While I am enclosing the link to the last episode of the play (), you have to watch the play to appreciate the poignancy of the lead couple's situation…it's a love story with a medical background, the love story is understated and subtle …the characters beautifully sketched out… the hero significantly older than the heroine…a heart warming story…..you cry, laugh, hope, despair along with the characters…if you can lay your hands on it, do watch it!

Yup, Rahul's come out as the dude here, hasn't he? It's a measure of him as an individual that he is able to see, acknowledge and act on what he thinks is the right thing to do!
