Part -4
She saw him coming towards her, she was getting nervous, she didn't know what to do. She shut her eyes tightly, she could feel him standing beside her. She slowly opens her eyes, she sees him at the end of the bed picking up the pillow and blanket. He goes off and settles down on the couch, ignoring her. He then makes comfortable on the couch and goes to sleep, with his back facing towards her. She kept staring at happenings silently, without making any noise. She saw the way he ignored her. She slowly gets from the bed, the sound of her anklets made him turn around and see towards her. He thought she was coming towards him, but she headed towards the dressing table. She also ignored him. She removed her jewellery and came back to the bed and laid down to sleep. They both had built a barrier of misunderstandings and guilt between them.
Though she was tired, she could not sleep. She kept staring at the night sky from the transparent fibre ceiling, she kept on thinking about how her future would be, with a man who didn't care about her, but just ignored her. Milind on other side, was not able to get sleep. He was feeling uncomfortable sleeping on the couch, which was small for his 6 feet height, his legs kept hanging in the air. He kept on thinking why she had ignored him. He thought he had reasons for ignoring her, but he didn't understand why she had ignored him. He slightly turns around and watches her from the corner of his eyes, and sees her staring at the night sky. After sometime with great difficulty both of them goes into sleep, thinking how both are going to face each other the next day.
The morning sun from the ceiling woke Prachi early in the morning. She woke up slowly not disturbing Milind who was sleeping very uncomfortably on the couch. She gets ready and goes down to start her first day in that house. She enters the pooja room, do the rituals of pooja and aarthi, praying that everything goes well on that day. She comes out and sees Ramu kaka waiting for her outside pooja room.
Saalon baad yeh ghar ki raunak vaaps aagaya hai, aisa laghta hai mujhe. Sukruthi beti jaane ki baad, aaj phele baar yeh ghar, ghar jaisa lagraha hai". She could see his face glowing with happiness. He handed over the tea cup to Prachi. "kal tum khana theek se nahi khayi hogi, chai pheelo, mein nachtha thayaar karunga." He hands over the tea cup to Prachi. "abhi nahi, mein yeh cup Milind ko de kar aathi hoon." She takes the cup and goes upstairs, thinking what and how she is going to address him. When she enters the room, she finds Milind had already lay awake, leaning his back on the wall and his hand rubbing the head. The sound of the door made him little alert, he sees Prachi coming towards him. She extendes her hand in which she was holding the tea cup. He stares at her for some time seriously and signals with his eyes to keep the cup on the table nearby. She silently places it on the table without uttering a word and goes down quietly.
Sometime later, Milind also comes down in his business suit. From the stairs he could she his sister Sukruthi talking to Prachi and her son playing around the house. Sukruthi sees him coming down " arey bhaiyya ,yeh kya hai. Kal aapke shaadi huyi thi aur aaj se office jaana ke soch rahe the", who……suk……", before he could pronounce her full name, "bhabhi aap kisi bhi tarah bhaiyya ko manana padega, mein kuch nahi jaanthi, aaj bhaiyya office nahi jaa sakthe". Prachi felt uncomfortable and puzzled. She did not understand what to relpy or how to convince Milind. Milind's cell starts ringing , Prachi sighs a relief and her expressions on her face becomes normal. He excuses himself and goes to the side, he puts his hand on the mouth, and starts speaking on the phone in the lower tone.
"bas 5minutes mein nikal raha hoon……….." , before he could talk further, Sukruthi pulls the cell from his hand "Neev bhaiyya aap bhi na. usski nayi nayi shaadi huyi. Office mein bhulane ke badle ,aap unki honeymoon ke liye plans banana hoga." " arey don't worry ek ganthe ki baat hai, uuske baad mein khud ussko ghar bhej duunga. Ok". He was about to disconnect the phone, but stops when he hears her voice. "aap bhi bhaiyya ke saath aana padega, Ayesha yehi pe aathe hogi kisi waqt. Aaj ka lunch yehi pe. Prachi bhabhi khana banarahi hai aaj." She disconnects the phone and hands over it to Milind. After taking the cell, he leaves the house without uttering any thing leaving puzzled Sukruthi at the back, who was wondering why her brother was so silent.
