Chapter 2:
Next morning - at 6 - Ridhima stepped in the dining room with her bag
ready and hoping for a good day ahead.
'Ridzy, did you pack everything?' her mother's voice echoed from the kitchen till the dining room. Ridhima got up and went to the kitchen. 'Chill Mom, Dad's sleeping!' She told her Mom knowing perfectly well what would happen if her father was disturbed. 'Ok, Have this and let me go and get ready.' she gave Ridhima her toast and hurried upstairs to get ready. Ridhima sat on the chair and began her breakfast, letting her mind wander to him with a tear falling from her eye, until her mother came in. 'Come on, we're already late.' Seeing Ridz not responding, she saw a tear falling down till she caught it. 'Don't let it fall, they're diamonds.' Whispering, she took Ridhima's bag and made her way towards the garage, just outside their house. 'Only if you knew Mom, I would not have let it fall.' She wiped her face and after a minute was with her Mom, in the car, heading for the Ice Skating Stadium.
She looked over the Stadium, she was expecting this. There were hundred's of people out there, waiting for their turn to come. She wished that the best should be selected.
As she entered her green room, she quickly changed and wore her skates and began practising the moves.
She still couldn't get the double axel jump, let alone the triple one.
(This is a single axel, where the figure rotates 1 time, when it rotates 2 or 3 times they are named double or triple axel respectively.)
She went on with the single axel many times trying to get its way towards the double one.
'Hundred's turn up and when I ask them, Have you done figure skating, the giggle and go away. How am I supossed the deal with them?' Padma came towards Ridhima shouting words to the people who just wanted to look at Ridhima or an autograph..etc.
'Mom, This was bound to happen. Did you find someone?' Eager to know, she stopped and looked at her Mother.
'No, but it's the first day. Many went because they were sleepy or I don't know. Others which were good are too short or too thin.' Saying this she again started moving around the ice.
This is the limit, No one, No one is just good for her. Some she didn't like, some her mother but no one was left to audition and she was starting to panic.
After 2 days, Ridhima drove to the Stadium. Her mother left early saying something that someone is waiting for her. She parked and made her way towards the green room. Changing, she just took the air of the cold ice.
Suddenly, she felt a hand on her waist from behind. There was someone behind, but it dragged her and soon without knowing who he was, with her back on him, she concentrated on their moves.
He was good, she thought as his moves were automatically matching with hers.
Finally, a clap made them stop. It was her mother.
'Perfect, I'm going to take you in young man.'
She turned to look at him and without wasting a second, pushed him.
'Hey, that's cold ice. I've going to have to soak my butt in hot water.' Laughing, he got up and was about to make his way outside when Ridhima held his collar.
'What are you doing here?' It was barely a whisper but he, obviously, did not hear it but looked at her and her hands holding his collar.
She came to know of the position and went back but spoke.
'What are you doing here?'
'What do you mean by what am I doing here?' he said to her but he knew she was not at all expecting him.
'WHAT THE BL**DY H**L ARE YOU DOING HERE?' She shouted and looked at him with dagger eyes before marching towards him, ready to kill him.
She was already going to him when he caught her arm and twisted it.
Whispering in her ear while he felt her stiffen a little.
'I've come for you.' Saying so, he left the ice.
'I'll be ready to kill you...Armaan.' With that she left.
Neither of them noticed, Padma was there trying to fit the pieces. Where did Ridhima meet him and what happened that Ridhima hates him to bits.
Now, she needed answers and she marched up to Ridhima.
'Ridhima, I need..I want to know everything!'
'Mom, at home, in my room with dinner.'
