Part 4 - Decisions Decisions

And thus began. The core of the story.

After literally begging, Rohit told Padma to give him a chance. He felt remorse for the kid, it seemed like he was in trouble financially and needed the money desperately. She reluctantly agreed. Vivek, the gang member who was injured, was an excellent shooter. All the members had a specialty. From guns, knives, to speed and technology.

And Shashank needed to learn how to shoot.

From the looks of it, he could fightbut other than that he didn't seem much of an asset.

The gang sped off with him and went deeper into the part of the neighborhood .

Until Padma stopped in front of a layer, or what seemed to be their hideout.

"What is this place?" he asked

But no one spoke. Riguring out they won't he ran off to catch up with them. And that's when he saw..

There was a huge door, probably around 10 ft tall. With a very big snake; precisely a green cobra on it.

Embellished with fine scriptures all around.

Padma opened the door with her cross shaped necklace.

Hmm she must be christian.

Inside was grande and dangerous. There was knives and guns everywhere and in awe he bent to touch it ...

"Owww

What was that for?"

"Don't touch" she said.

"You couldv'e just said so, jeez" he muttered.

She abruptly stopped and turned around.

"Start training, he better be ready in a few weeks or else ..

TRASH HIM " she stated looking directly into his eyes.

Trash him?!! "Huh"

Over the next few weeks he came to the layer futively without informing Dai jaan, instead saying that he was at a job. He was trained by Rohit and a couple of others.

And suprisingly he picked it up quick and was good, even better than Vivek, which Padma and Rohit observed.

"He's better" Padma said

"Hmm" Rohit replied.

"What about Vivek?"

"...

We can't let him go or anything. What are you suggesting?"

"To let him go."

"But Padma, you can't"

"Why not?" she countered.

... he was stumped. He never expected her to do this, it was supposed to be a temporary thing. They got a good fighter and the kid got his money. All's well that ends well, right?

"Look I know you're the leader and all but you can't make decisions like this."

The real reason was that Padma liked Shashank, romantically, she harbored feelings for him. And was dead sure that he reciprocated them from the first day by the way he gawked at her, it was just so obvious to anyone. She wanted him to be close and to join the gang but she knew that wasn't possible. A part of her didn't want him to join because it was dangerous. He could get hurt or worse killed and that was the last thing she wanted. His abilities were a bonus.

Vivek was the jealous kind, he'd envy someone who was BETTER in HIS field.

It would be impossible..

There would be only one way.

To kick Vivek out.

"We CAN'T" Rohit repeated and reminded.

"He's been loyal to us all these years and you're going to replace him for some kid who been here for 3 weeks?!"

"Look, I'M the leader, so I'LL decide what or what not to do with MY gang."

Padma left along with Shashank, Rohit, and a couple others. The rest or the group just wouldn't listen, they were furious, this wasn't the plan and she was pulling authority. So they broke up on BAD terms and swore on their lives for revenge from their betrayal.

Over the years, Padma and Shashank's love blossomed and hadn't heard from Vivek's gang throughout.

However, they started receiving death threats, suddenly. They found out that over the time of their love story, Vivek's gangs were becoming bigger, stronger, and dangerous, futively. It was hard to gain any information on them and when Padma found out she was pregnant and she became worried.

"Shash, what are we going to do? Im pregnant.."

"Don't worry we're going to leave from here after my baby girl is born."

"How do you know it's a girl, I haven't been to the doctor?" she asked surprised.

"You just watch, we're going to have a girl! " he said gleefully.

"What about Vivek's gang, what if they hurt her?"

"Nothing will happen to you or her, I promise."

Meanwhile through the months of Padma's pregnancy, gang's and guns left them, they wanted to protects their child and not put her in any sort of difficulty that could complicate Padma's pregnancy.

But they hadn't realized they were being monitered and followed the whole time by Vivek's gang.

Just like the past few months, they had received another threat, but this time only of their death but also torturing and a slow death of their baby as payback for revenge.

By now Padma was hell bent.

Due to stress and trepidation she went into early labour. Shash and Padma both agreed that keeping their daughter away from them no matter how painful, would be the best solution, even though Padma was hesistant to do so. And so they fled after Riddhima Shashank Gupta was born.
