Scene 2

Kanaka Empire! There is a Pool party outside, in the HUGE garden. Although it's evening, the whole garden is lit up with spotlights and special disco lights that have been put up on the walls and poles. The garden is designed in two layers. The top layer is filled with tables and chairs, and soft fairy lights. The top layer is like a very large balcony which overlooks the bottom layer. There are stairs leading to the bottom layer. The bottom layer is much larger. Right at the middle is a MASSIVE swimming pool. To the left of the swimming pool, nearer to the stairs is an equally large dance floor. To the right of the swimming pool is a huge table filled with cold drinks and food, kept continuously hot by the caterers standing there. There is a bar too. Right at the end of the garden, is a huge stage with mikes. Above is a banner saying 'Party Pool 2005!'

The party is filled with people. Boys, girls, men, women, employees, business men. The Hi-Fi system is blasting 'It's the time to Disco!' Half the people are in swimming costumes and dancing in the pool, whereas half are on the dance floor, dressed in smart suits and dresses. This is because the theme of the party was a surprise. There is a row of changing rooms under the top garden and there are also swimming costumes available for people who haven't come prepared.

It's a very merry atmosphere.

A group of girls are standing near the drinks table.

Leena

: [Taking a sip of her drink and leaning against the table, shouting above the music] Sir kahan hein yaar!?

Meera looks towards the stairs and then back at Leena

Meera

: Sir nahi, DK! [she has a dreamy expression] Yaad hein, our hot boss wants nooo formality tonight…😉

Sareena

: [looking towards the dance floor] Hmmmm…lekin it will be soo weird na? Sir ko sir bulane ka aadat jo hein!

Meera hits Leena on her back.

Meera

: Tum bhi na! Spoil sport kahi ki! Hamara boss hi to hein na? Baap to nahi!😆

Leena chokes on her drink and Sareena bursts out laughing. The girls are laughing, when suddenly someone clears their throat next to them. They stop laughing, and turn round.

Leena

: [disappointed] Oh it's you Taaj! [she shakes her head]

Taaj

: [raises an eyebrow] To tum ne kya socha? Koi dulha raja?😆

Meera

: Nahi..we thought it was…[she blushes]😳

Taaj raises his eyebrow further.

Sareena

: Taaj ya…[she is cut off by Taaj]

Taaj

: Taaj nahi, sir kaho!

Leena makes a rude noice and raises her eyebrow.

Leena

: Psht! Tum or hamara Sir? Don't make us laugh! You are an employee just like us yaar…accept karlo!😆

Taaj winces like he has been slapped on the face.

Meera

: Exactly! Hamare saamne superman banne ki koshish karte ho, lekin DK ke saamne to tumhara bolti hi band hojata hein…haha…it's too funny yaar!😆

The girls burst out laughing again.

Taaj gives them a look.

Taaj

: [angry] Chup karo! [holds head up highly] I am Sir's right hand, isliye tum teeno mujse jalti ho

Leena and Meera laugh and Sareena holds out her hand.

Sareena

: [flicks her hair and holding out hand] Whatever!😆

Suddenly, a girl walks up to them from the swimming pool. She is wearing a blue one-piece swimming costume and is dripping wet. Her hair is plastered to her face.

Girl

: Taaaaaaj! [she shakes her head, trying to get the water out of her ears]

Leena, Meera and Sareena move back trying to avoid the droplets of water.

Taaj

: [looking at the girl up and down] What's up Savi?

Savi puts her left elbow on Taaj's right shoulder and leans against him.

Savi

: [Impatiently] Ye DK kaha rehgaya hein!? [she shivers a little and starts jumping on her feet to the music, and trying to warm herself] Call him!

Meera

: [Butting in] Haan Taaj! Bulao DK ko…He is the jaan of this party! [Dreamy expression again]😉

Taaj looks around at the faces of the eager girls. He raises his eyebrow again. His face holds a 'But I'm here- aren't I enough' expression.

Savi removes her elbow from Taaj's shoulder and pushes him towards the stairs.

Savi

: [shouting] Go on! Call him!

Savi then turns around and runs towards the pool and dives in.

Taaj

: [shouts] OK OK! [he shakes his head] You girls are too much! Shukar hein ke tum sab employees ho aur sirf ye ek raat hein jab Sir tumse har formality utar deta hein..warna to…[he shakes his head further and starts walking towards the stairs]😆

Leena, Meera and Sareena are laughing after him.

Meera

: Exactly Taaj! [she looks at Leena ] We have this one night only…[she looks at Sareena] Isliye we have to make the most of it na? [she winks at her friends]😉

Taaj is inside Kanaka Empire! He walks towards an office. The camera zooms on the nameplate on the door of an office. 'Mr DK Seghal'.

Taaj has a nervous expression on his face. He clears his throat and knocks on the door. From inside, we hear 'come in.'

Taaj opens the door and walks into the office.

Inside the office, there is a large desk which is filled with files, folders, papers, pens. There is a laptop too. The chair at the desk is turned around therefore we cannot see the person sitting on the chair. The music and voices of people can be heard faintly.

Taaj walks up to the desk.

Taaj

: [Nervously] S..ahem..sir? [He tries to poke his head around to see what his boss is doing]

DK

(From the chair): Hmm?

Taaj

: [Nervously] Sir…aap aarahe ho kya?

The camera focuses on DK playing with his mobile with style, sitting on the chair. (Just a hand playing around with a mobile)(Don't see his face yet)

DK

: Of course…sab log aagaye?

Camera back on Taaj.

Taaj

: [Getting excited] Yes sir! It's packed! Aur…everyone is waiting for you

Camera on DK's beard/lips, which is curved in a smile.

DK

: Excellent!

Taaj

: [more confident now] Aur sir..meine press wale ko bhi…[cut off]

DK stands up from his chair. We now see his back. He is in a blue sleeveless vest, revealing his broad muscly shoulders.

DK

: Brilliant Taj! Yeh party, is hafte, is mahine, is saal ka sabse gharma gharam khabar hona chahiye, understand?

Taaj

: [Nodding his head] Jee sir! Bilkul

Camera on DK's back. He holds out his arms.

DK

: Saari duniyan ke zaban per ye party ki geet hona chahiye! Mr DK Saighal's parties aam nahi hote! You know what I'm saying Taaj?

Taaj

: [nodding faster] Yes sir!

Camera on DK's back again

DK

: Good! Tum jaon…mein aaraha hu

Taaj walks out of the office and closes the door. He walks back towards the party.

The party is in full swing outside! The HI-FI is playing 'dhoom machale dhoom machale' and everyone is lost, dancing. The females however are a bit restless. They want their hero to come and join them. The older females also want to spend some quality time with the young handsome lad.

SUDDENLY, the HI-FI system goes off. The lights are turned off. The whole garden is plunged in darkness. Everyone stops dancing/swimming. They start murmuring, wondering what's happened. The murmuring is getting louder. Everyone is startled.

Suddenly a girl from somewhere shouts out loudly, 'lagta hein DK is here!'

Just at that point, a voice booms out from the speakers.

Voice

: [sexy] Good evening Doston…

And a spotlight goes on, flooding the stage with light. And who is standing on the stage? None other but our SEXY hero, DK! Looking damn gorgeous in a pair of beige pants and his light blue vest! 😉

The audience bust into cheers to see their boss, friend, hero standing there, arms wide open, smiling at them. The girls whoop and scream.

Screams of 'Yayyyyyyy' and "DK!' ring around the silent night.

DK leans into the mike again. The people quieten down.

DK

: [smiling] Shukriya…Shukriya friends! Aaj mujhe bahot khushi huwi hein, ke tum sab aaye ho, to celebrate new year's eve with me; to welcome the new year!

The crowd burst into cheers again. DK smiles at them. The spotlight is still on him. Everywhere else is in darkness.

DK

: Tonight…no formality! Hum sab dost hein yaha…no boss / employee relationships! [He puts his right hand on the back of his neck and looks around] Ummeed hein ke tum sab ko is saal ka theme pasand aaya hoga [he points to the banner above his head]

In response, the crowd erupts into much louder cheers.👏

From the crowd: 'We love it DK!'

DK smiles satisfied.

DK

: Thanks guys…aur zyada waqt nahi lunga…khoob khao, khoob nacha, khoob gao aur…[he puts his arms out and leans back] Oh what the hell! ENJOY people!😆

And DK JUMPS into the crowd😆, signalling for the music to go on again. 'Dhoom machale' booms into the silent night. The lights turn on again; flashing and bright. Few girls surround DK.

Meera

: [TRYING to drag DK towards the dance floor] Come ON DK! Let's boogie!😉😆

Savi

: [TRYING to drag DK towards the swimming pool] Chalo na, mere saath swimming karo na!😉

DK just laughs at the girls.

DK

: [to himself] Aaj to bara maza aayega! Today no formality with my sexy staff [he winks at Meera]😉

DK is about to say something, when suddenly someone puts their hand on his shoulder and shouts 'DK!!' from behind him.

DK turns around to see his childhood friend, Raj standing behind him, grinning.

DK is shocked and happy.

DK

: Raj! Tum!

DK and Raj hug…manly hug!

The girls begin to walk away dejectedly.

Meera

: [whispers to her friend] Ab to he's got his dost…hamari kya zaroorat hein.

Suddenly, DK catches hold of her wrist. She turns around surprised. The other girls turn around cause Meera turns around.

DK looks at the girls. He releases Meera's wrist and instead puts his hand on another girl's cheeks.😉

DK

:[huskily] I'll join you girls later.😉

He then turns round back to Raj, and the girls sighhh and walk away towards the swimming pool and dance floor, elated that their hero gave them some attention.

DK puts his right arm around Raj and they start walking towards the drink table.

DK

: Yaar kitne arse hogaye!

Raj

: Pata hein man! Tum to bare business aadmi hogaye [looks around, impressed]

DK

: [laughs, and slaps him on the back] It's so good to see you!

Raj

: Haan yaar! Aaj meine apni biwi se kehdiya ke mein apne dost ke New Year's Party mein jaunga…no matter what!

DK and Raj reach the drinks table. DK fills Raj a cup of drink.

DK

: Acha kiya tumne!

DK hands Raj his drink and they bring their glasses together. They take a sip. They stand leaning against the table looking at the people enjoying themselves.

Raj

: [looking around jokingly] Acha to bhabhi ji kahan hein?😆

DK looks at Raj

DK

: [Surpised and confused] Bhabhi?

Raj

: Yaar itna bhole mat bano! Tumhari wife, meri bhabhi.

DK

: [cracks up] No wife! Ye wife hona…[He shakes his head] Nahi yaar…it's a waste of time…I prefer subhe ko Tara, to shaam ko Sara, kyu? 😉

DK suddenly notices a group of girls looking towards him from near the steps. He gives them a wave.

Raj

: [laughs] Kya yaar! Tum bilkul waisey hi waisey rahe! [shakes his head, laughing] Tumhare soch mein koi farq nahi hein!😆

DK turns around and gives Raj a smile. He starts refilling his cup.

Raj

: To tum kya abhi tak larki magnet ho?

DK brings his cup to his lips, and with his eyes, signals at the group of girls staring at him.

DK

: Whaddaya think?😉

Raj

: [shakes his head, laughing] Muje yaad hein…college mein sab larkiyon tumpar fida the…[faraway look on his face] Like you were the only guy in this world.😆

DK rolls his eyes

DK

: Mein hu hi aisa..😉

Raj

: [smiles] Lekin seriously DK, wife hein to life hein!😉

DK

: [mischievously] Acha?…to phir meri biwi is my business, because Kanaka is my life 😆[he looks towards the building with passion]

Raj

: Haan haan who sab theek hein…lekin tum dekhna [dreamily] Jab tumhare khwabon ki rani aayengi…😉

Camera outside Kanaka entrance. A metallic blue Mercedes pulls up at Kanaka driveway

DK turns towards Raj

Raj

: Tumhare saamne aayegi, chori chori…😉

Camera outside Kanaka entrance again. The car door opens and a pair of legs in blue high-heels and blue dress stick out gracefully.

Raj

: Tumhara ye dil [points to DK's chest], who chupke chupke churalegi na…😉

Camera outside Kanaka entrance again. Disha steps out of the car and looks around, her eyes open wide, her long hair blowing dramatically around her face.

Raj

: Phir tum ye business [looks at Kanaka]..sab kuch [looks back at DK and says slowly] sab…kuch, uski muhabbat mein bhooljaoge…😉

DK

: [His eyes glowing, but his face has an 'I don't believe it' expression] Impossible yaar…tum kabse itna romantic baat karne lage?

Raj

: [smiles] Dekhna…jab who tumhe miljayengi na…😉
