How can you not feel for this 18 yr old...
1. starts off with rind posh maal.. where shankar quietly says 'bahaut accha gaya aapne...mujhse bhi aacha gaya hai'
2. gives a carefree performance with 'bas itna sa khwab hai'
3. rocks the stage with kirti in 'kaal kaal'. i loved the fusion created by the help of prashant sir.. i wish i could somehow get hands on this version of the song..its way cooler than the original...
arijit sang at such a powerful pitch that his voice was sore for some time..mixing western influxes beautifuly with indian classical....except for kirti's forgetting one line.. kirti couldve made it into the top.. but actually arijit's brilliance overshadowed him just this once....And he was a livewire on the stage as well..it must be the kirti effect
4. sang 'aye chaand teri chaandni ki kasam' with his voice still sore and recovering from riyaz... therefore his lower notes were not distinct..but his high tones were amazing....he can project his voice so tightly.. with so much control its stunning.
5. in the cafe round, gave a stunner with 'tera jadoo chal gaya'. Watching the judge's faces as he performed was fun..
6. And finally.. i dont care who becomes the fame jodi..Arijit's vande mataram was enough for me..
Being far from India, We always get somewhat nostalgic with the independence day...
I will always remember me and 3 other friends watching the show...till then we were impressed with rex and rooprekha....
With arijits starting sequence... all four of us were pin-drop silent. When he finished.. I had a lump in my throat.... and one of my friends was misty eyed....
I wish him very well in his future. No matter what happens ..whoever becomes fame jodi...I hope arijit singh grows, and excels as a musician.. Why..? he touched us all with his brilliance.
