My Aug 19th episode review (for NRIs)

In one word: Fun!

Indeed. This was one of the best gala rounds, in my opinion. I laughed a lot and enjoyed the singing. Very good.

My views on the contestants:

Arpita - 🤢. Need I say more?

Shamit - Hmm.. OK... could have done better. For some reason I don't like his voice quality - he is very good with all the technical stuff, but his voice quality is not all that good.

Rex - Very good! I enjoyed his performance. However, I thought he sounded like he head a sore throat... anyone thought so too? He was good, though.

Ruprekha - AMAZING performance. Loved her voice - it was so clear and she projected it nicely.

Arijit - Honestly, he won me over with this performance. He was absolutely, absolutely, absolutely brilliant. I almost cried during the performance. He sang it so beautifully - you really get the feel of the song.

Qazi - YAY! Wonderful performance! He sang soooo well, I even thought he sang better than the likes of Shamit and Rex! His voice was beautiful, his performance as usual was absolutely stunning. And he looked pretty amazing in Indian clothing😃

Mona - She sang good. I liked her voice, but something was lacking - can't really put a finger on it, but something was. She sang nice though!


About the whole Top Student thing:

One thing I was truly, truly upset about was the fact that Arpita was top student. She sang horribly, and Arijit wouldn't have gone in the danger zone if it wasn't for the fact that she was Top Student. I really hated her performance - I couldn't see any life, any sur, any emotion in it all. I think some of the blame also goes to the song - even though the song is beautiful, it is probably very difficult to carry. So... er. Yeah. Didn't like her performance at all!

On the whole Judge/Faculty fight:

Simply hilarious! Even though I don't like Ila Arun that much, I think she was very right in defending Arijit. His singing was amazing - though, you know, if Arpita was not Top Student, he would be saved. Ila defended him rightly - he was amazing. Javed was hilarious. I didn't necessarily agree with him, but everything he said was just laugh-out-loud funny. Especially when he said that next week they should just take four members from the audience and put them in the danger zone. I admit that was rude on some counts, but I did laugh. I liked Shankar's explanation to the Faculty on why Arijit was in danger zone. The thing about Shankar is that he honestly tries to encourage everyone, and I like that about him.


On the celebrity judge:

Anil Kapoor can sing! Hehe - when he sang Vande Mataram with Arijit, I thought it was amazing. He made some nice comments too!


Additional comments:

I loved the whole Patriotic theme. Everyone sang beautifully (except Arpita), and I could really feel the judge's difficulty. Qazi was usually involved in the moments I laughed a lot. The way he said that he really wanted to go to the safe zone had me on the floor. And Rex's comment on being tired seeing him in the danger zone was also funny. But what took the cake was after it was announced that Qazi was in the safe zone. He was so excited and I was really laughing - especially the part where he was thanking Prashant for the breathing excercises. Very funny!

Hey I just saw that episode.

I don't really like Ila Arun, but I thought it was right of her to defend Arijit's performance, because it was really really really good. But I didn't like teh comment she made that she thought that Qazi should be in danger. It tends to bring down the morale of people, especially Qazi... poor guy has been in danger so much! 😭

As far as Arpita, her performance was TERRIBLE. She didn't really come out as the TOP student.

Yah I saw today's gala and all I have to say was Arijit was amazing. The song touched my heart. I was crying with him. He was awesome. Arpita didn't put any emotion in her song so I didn't enjoy her performance. At one point I liked her because of her confidence and well-bound attitude but today she disappointed me. Rooprekha was excellent, the only honest person if fame gurukul. Rex was great as always. I always feel like singing with him when he sings. I really like Shamit's singing but I don't know I didn't enjoy his song as much as I usually do. Mona has such a sweet voice. She sang one of my favorite songs. I loved it. She also lacked something, but she was far better than Arpita. Qazi surprised me today. He improved himself but I don't why I didn't like the song that was given to him. I loved all the other songs given to other contestants but this song didn't move me like the ones by Arijit and Mona.

Arijit was OK...but the faculty must teach him how to hold the mike.....they teached him whom to make bhaiya and backing up faculty....QAZI deserves to be safe not arijit...

I absolutely agree that Qazi was rightly in the safe zone. I just thought that Arijit should be, too, and he would have been if Arpita wasn't Top Student. She totally disappointed me, I used to like her singing (last week's gala performance was really good), even though I never felt too much for her attitude.

I LOVED QAZIS PERFORMANCE IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO FUN... N I ACTUALLY THINK ARIJIT SANG BETTER SECOND TIME WITH ANIL... BUH SINCE THE JUDGES HAD PUT HIM IN THE DANGER ZONE (I MEAN THEY CUD ONLY SAVE 2) ILA SHUDA JUSS SAID OK WE DUN THINK GHE SHUD B DERE BUH BY INSULTING QAZI.. N BRINGING HIM IN THIS WAS WRONG.. I DIDNT LIKE THAT.. EVERY1 DESERVES RESPECT...

wow .. i'd agree wid EVERYTHING u said *Rashmi*..nicely said. and i completely agree. i always luv Qazi'z comments, reactions 2 things and face expressions. he's cute. and yea, da entire thing was done realli nicely..and about da lauffs..there were a whoooooooole lot! .. lol and i think u pretty much listed all da gud ones 😛
