I don't think Rex played any politics. Lets look at the two contenders and comapare at every voting:

1) Gurpreet and Kirti: Rex voted for Kirti - well it was an obvious choice as Gurpreet was really bad.
2) Shammit and Amit: This was a close call in my opinion. Both are good singers and they say Shammit was better in sur than Amit. So I think he made the right choice by voting Shammit in.
3) Anubhav and Arijit: Everyone knows how good they both are - a vote either ways would not be wrong.
4) Shammit and MOna: Here also it was a very close call. They both can sing well. And I don't see a right or wrong vote here.

Rex made the right choice when the choice was clear and that is all that matters. From now on everyone except Qazi and upto an extent Arpita are very sound and deserving and it would be very wrong if we blamed anyone of them for voting for someone who they thought was good.

oh gimme a break. rex is probably the most honest and sweetest guy in fame gurukul. he is far away from all this politics!!

I don't think he could have voted for Amit based on friendship after the fiasco with Kirti.

He did apologize to Amit and explain too.

He is smart, but not manipulative.

While I don't believe Qazi is fame Gurukul jodi material, he is a decent singer and can problably do songs which need a different voice - like sukhwinder, SP Balasubramniam and Lucky Ali did.
