Thursday 11th August 2005 was the saddest day at Fame Gurukul - when my favorite participant, Anubhav Suman, had to leaev!

The innocent boy from Ghaziabad had an all round talent in him, right from his young days. He was good at many musical instruments as well as a well groomed voice, which he used very sensitively.

What he probably lacked was the overwhelming X-factor which seems to be consuming the show, beyond redemption!

All the judges as well as the faculty made this observation!

I found an old May 2000 article (much before Fame Gurukul kind of shows were even conceptualised) about Anubhav:

A budding singer

May 9: The age is no limit where talent is concerned. Anubhav Suman, a student of class 10 from a local school in Delhi has shown great results in the field of music. At an early age of 14 years he is already capable of playing musical instruments from harmonium, tabla, bongo to key boards, not only is he proficient in playing these interments but also a good singer. He has already sung bhajans in many music concerts in Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bhilwara, etc. He has also participated in many programs for the All India Radio and Doordarshan. Not only this he has participated in many music competitions and earned several prizes and awards for himself.

I also hope Anubhav gets really far in the future, and I'm sure he will.

Qazi is really taking the place of lots of deserving singers. 😡

But even if Qazi got out, talented singers would still be voted out week after week.

See if someone goes out competing against a tough competition, it does not feel so bad!

But if it a loss against an unfair competition, then the feeling of regret is magnified, isnt it?

There is just no justification for Qazi to remain and Anubhav to go!
